I've tested several build before. eg: donut, eclair, tattoo...
I remember that I've had one build (Android 2.1 probably) by which I could use wifi to connect my laptop and access the internet.
BUT only by that build. And after that I've tried several build(also include 1.6 and 2.1), but none of them can find the wifi network of my laptop.
I've searched about this problem. It seems that it's because ad-hoc tethering is not working stablely. And I found an app named "android-wifi-tether", but it looks just used to let the computer share the mobile's connection, not the opposite direction.

And I still find a complex way. But I think it's not convinient. If you change a computer, u'll have to change the wpa_supplicant.conf file again, bcz the SSID might be different.

Is there any patch for this?

Finally I GOT IT!!!!!!!
Thx to kallt_kaffe's post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700669
With the build RLS6, I can connect my laptop with out modifying the two files.
And I found the tiwlan.ini is almost the same as in the other build, that's odd. BUT it really works!!!!
Thx again kallt_kaffe!!

Greetings, everyone.
I have a Defy running on Jboogie3 Blurless Honey (2.2 Froyo), rooted and all...but i can't get it to connect to my univeristy's wi-fi; I've read it's a known problem in 2.2 and...I kind of fixed it: I've replaced wpa_supplicant,wlan_cu and wlan_loader in my /system/bin folder for some files I ran into the net. This "solution" worked on ADLXMOD F4D 2.2 (another 2.2 ROM for Defy) but doesn't seem to work on Jboogie3...well, it partially worked, because I couldn't add any networks, but I could connect to the WPA-EAP wi-fi on my university. Anyone running JBoogie3 has been able to connect to an enterprise network? or anyone running 2.1 can please post wlan_loader,wlan_cu and wpa_supplicant?
The network parameters are:
Auth: WPA
Data encoding: AES,TKIP or WEP128
EAP: PEAP
Auth method: MSCHAPv2
TL;DR: Can't connect to enterprise wi-fi, anyone running Jboogie3 has been able to? Anyone running 2.1 can post wpa_supplicant,wlan_cu and wlan_loader?
Sorry for horrible spacing and bad grammar, my English is rusty. Thanks.

This is really disappointing that ICS does not support connecting to Ad-hoc WiFi networks but some have managed to work it by modifying "wpa_supplicant" in their device. I tried searching a lot but could not find it for our device. Is there anyone who is either having a modified wpa_supplicant for our XS or can modify one to make ICS connect Ad-hoc networks?
Thanks in advance!
