1) Since i have had my evo 4g i used SWITCH PRO WIDGET. The widgets look amazing and they are the only ones that i have found with a working mobile data switch
But since ICS they do not work and force close, is there an alternative set of matching toggles that include a data switch?
anyone know of a good mobile network toggle?
i cant stand my battery draining when im not using my phone... the mobile network toggle literally is clutch..but i cant find one that works with ICS
Try widgetsoid from the market, has a ton of toggles and you can even place it in your status bar.

No need to be a douche, I'm sure he wants to see other types of widgets that people are using instead of what he has/has seen.
Any who That one right there doesn't show when your on HSPA+
Try Signal Strength Widget
This was the best one I've found so far.
I like signal strength widget and phono is tight...

You could also try battery monitor. In one of the menus you are able to ping your phone and the info should come up about what your network is.

Hi,
does anyone know an app which provides the discribed service or similar? Currently I use Extended Controls to switch manually.
Thanks a lot und best regards,
martin
I tried to do it with Tasker, but it can only turn off data completely and not turn down to 2G. Any ideas?
U should try an app called cpu tuner. Be sure to be rooted so u can take full advantage of this app. You can set all kinds of power saving profiles.

Unfortunately, Android does not support an automatic toggle between 3G and 2D so, until now, this is not possible.

I have 3g Widget that I got from the market that seems to do what you're looking for.

Thx, but this app diables the complete data transfer only. I was looking for an automated switching between 2G and 3G to use the low bandwidth 2G data for push services while the screen is turned off.
Best regards,
martin
Guys...seriously...what is going on with GB?
Even after the update that supposedly fixed the 3g toggle issues with switchpro it's still not working...at least for me.
Also any clue when the GPS toggle will be fixed?
Or better yet...does anyone reccomend another app that does the same thing ad switchpro but actually works with GB?

i think its you i have no issues with switchpro
Well I know there was some compatibility issues with switchpro and gingerbread and the update switchpro update yesterday (I think) was supposed to fix that. My 3g toggle still isn't working the way it did with froyo unfortunately.
EDIT: just in case anyone else was having this problem I uninstalled, rebooted twice, reinstalled...and now my 3g toggle is working again.

I have extended controls and i've tried several others like it but nothing seems to have a toggle to turn 3G off. 2G/3G toggles don't work and neither does turning off mobile data (APN), I guess that's for GSM networks.
At work i get really poor reception and I'd like to be able to toggle 3G off (turn data off) to save battery.
Thanks ahead of time!
Are you rooted?

Yes i'm rooted, running starburst 1.6
Not sure if this is the one that you already have but turning off data works perfect for me in 1.6.

Here is my solution with launcher pro. You can do an activity shortcut with AnyCut and test the Various DATAs for the one that allows for the selection of Hybrid/CDMA/EVDO. Launcher pro is a little more detailed in it's selection process.

I currently use Widgetsoid which can control many things but if you want just a 3G on/off toggle, I know that Data Switch does work with our phones, I've used it before.
I have heard about this app for a long time and decided to get it from the market. Another xda member a while back said it worked great on the T mobile SGS2. I mainly got the app to change the status bar icons and maybe some fonts. The problem is that not everything seems to work. I managed to change the wifi icon and the signal bars, but no go for other tweaks. For some reason, they don't stick after applying and rebooting. Does anyone else use Rom Toolbox Pro? If so, do you have the same problems or am I doing something wrong? I also want to know if this is safe to run on the T mobile SGS2. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
