I'm on the hunt for a ROM that has proper proxy support that isn't one of the ICS ones. Most of the Sense based roms have the ability to add a proxy server under advanced WiFi prefs, but this only seems to work in the browser (and unreliably as far as I can tell); I need to be able to all outbound traffic via my network's proxy server.
Any ideas? (So far I've explored MildWild Oxygen, Leedroid, Runnymede, Redux 2ZM, and Nick's Phone 1.1)
And now I've add MIUI-XJ to the list. nice rom, bit different, has proxy settings, but as with other GB roms, they only seem to apply to the browser, not globally.

hi guys, i used leedroid latest ROM & Neophyte's latest & other custom ROMs.... but with all these ROMs i cannot connect to 3G/GPRS because my desire doesnt retrieve automatic configuration from the network....
BUT--- when i used CM nightly build latest, it retrieves network settings automatically, & i am ready to surf the internet the very next moment i install the ROM....infact the H icon appears immediately when i am still looking at the screen & thinking what r the changes,after flashing a ROM..... i am amused by this strange thing with all other ROMs except CM nightly build...
is there anyone who know what .apk is responsible for retrieving those settings from the network in custom ROMs ??? how can i rectify this issue with rest of ROMs as i like the interface of rest of custom ROMs, i am desperate to try out different things....
please anyone here guide me/ suggest me a solution pls.....
Hi,
I don't know yet if it's a LeeDroid 2.1c or a Froyo issue:
The Sensui-Roms got the following issue:
You can't select your ca-certificate when you want to add my 802.1x-network. The certificate is already installed. Help is very appreciated! Could someone include the Wifi-stack of the Nexus-One rom to a Sense-rom or can tell me how to get it from a Nexus Rom to a Sense rom? I attached two screenshots: One of how it should look like and one how it looks like actually in my Sense rom. I edited the wpa_supplicant.conf and added the line
Code:
ca_cert="keystore://CACERT_Telekom root CA"
after installing the cert. (yes I used the right certificate name)
It doesn't help either. So it looks like sense isn't even capable to manage ca-certificates.
Greetings
Moved to Q&A. Please don't post question threads in Development.
Sorry, that wasn't the plan.
I tried another rom without sense and another sense rom to find the reason for the problem. Actually it's a problem with the settings-part of the sense-roms. HTC forgot to implement the possibility to specify a certificate in the 802.1x Enterprise WLAN settings. Can I import the WLAN-Settings somehow from a non-sense-rom, cause I don't wanna miss sense and I don't wanna miss 802.1x too.
Greetings
Yes, bump sucks, but the bug sucks even more...
I've got the same problem. Sense doesn't allow me to select a CA-certificate. With the help of wifi-ace (code.google.com/p/android-wifi-ace/) I was able to set it manually. But this doesn't matter, the connection could not be etablished. (Connect to WLAN... SCAN... No connection)
I need enterprise with PEAP, MSCHAPv2 and the (installed) "Deutsche Telekom Root CA 2".

Same here. I solved the problem by using the newest MIUI. It's faster than sense, has also a nice music player and is working fine with the defrost-kernel.
Hi.
I have a few questions which i can't write in the proper forum cause i'm to new,
i've been trying to look through the some what hughe thread about the latest LeeDroid release and all the featues that comes with it,
however i can't find a few things,
such as the CPU regulator, how do i actually change the voltage/speed of the CPU, there are some modes that come pre-prepared in the release.
Secondly, getting OpenVPN to work, i assume it's as simple as installing the OpenVPN settings application? havn't had time to fix my VPN server so i can't test.
And stuff like Launcher2, where do i find all these neet "features"? :/
Hi,
since I'm not allowed to post into the developer section I open this thread here and hope for some answers.
I flashed seb's runnymede AIO 6.0.4.1 Special Edition according to the Guide, 4ext recovery, 1gb ext 4 partition on my 16 GB Class 10 sd card, have hboot cm7/r2, chose AD2SDX, let it settle for some time, rebootet and tried all that again and again about 5 times, also with generic app2SD.
Every time I have the same problem:
When I'm not connected to WLAN the only app that can acces the internet connection is the browser, all other apps and sync try and try but won't get any data. Browser works fine (and faster as on my previous LeeDroid 3.0.8.2 I think) and with a WLAN connection all the apps work.
I searched on XDA, googled it and went through some of the 1600! pages of the original thread but came up with nothing similar.
I really like this ROM, it has everything I desire, sense 3.5, runs very smoothly and other than the known bugs and the described problem it has worked perfectly so far. I really would like to use it for a longer time (until a stable ICS rom + sense comes up ) but with this problem it is not usable.
Strange that you have browser access but nothing else.
In settings>wireless & network>mobile networks> is "enable always-on mobile data" checked?
Same location, is Network Mode set to GSM/WCDMA auto?
Highly unlikely to be the cause but have you tried different APN settings for your network?
With AIO and my o2 network I have to change the settings from those pre-installed.
Just wow,
thanks for the fast response,
Thats a yes to the first two questions, but your suggestion regarding the APN worked!
Thanks a lot!
No problem. Thanks for including all the info needed to point in the right direction.
There are altogether too many "HELP! its not working!... its not working!..... do I need a new phone?!!..... questions.
Get your 10 posts out of the way and join the main AIO thread. We are always looking for tips and tweaks to get things running faster/smoother/better. Seb (the dev) has been AWOL for a week or so since he bought a new Sensation but we are still there trying out new things in his absence.

Rsk v6 or aio? I would uninstall the browser apk using root explorer then install browser apk (take it from the Rom zip) to sd-ext/app_s then reboot
sent from my Runnymede AIO using XDA app
Hello guys/gals.
I want to use AOSP ROM as a daily driver, but some problems don't allow me.
And some Japanese users also says about them.
Here are the problems.
#1: APN settings are written in "apns-conf.xml" file, but there's no APN settings in settings app, so I have to edit it manually.
#2: Phone number in the settings shows "unknown" on almost every AOSP ROMs. And in 4.2.x ROMs, there's no settings to modify(I know it's normal in 4.2.x ROMs)
#3: SoftBank Mail app can't receive any mails on WiFi because setup to do this fails.
#4: SoftBank WiFi spot doesn't work because setup fails.
#5: Some apps from SoftBank (e.g. Smart Security powered by McAfee, Internet SagiWall, etc) suddenly stop working and they say "SIM card authentication failed".
(#3 & #4 are 4.2.x only problems)
EDIT: Probrem #3 & #4 were caused by the apps that can't used on 4.2.x ROMs. So I have to wait until the carrier solves.
I personally think RIL or something related with it cause these problems because they never happen on any types/versions of Sense ROMs.
How can I fix them?
Any thoughts are welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Hi. Sorry for bumping this thread up, but I want you to help us!
And I found a fact about these problem. Please let me tell you...
Some CM 10.1 based AOSP ROMs (I think ALL) have wrong APN settings of andglobal.softbank.ne.jp in /system/etc/apns-conf.xml.
Code:
For example: in case of CodeFireX SR12
[COLOR="Red"]WRONG[/COLOR](original):
<apn carrier="Softbank(internet)" mcc="420" mnc="20" apn="andglobal.softbank.ne.jp" user="andg001softbank" password="pumbbghkpgyysxa" mmsc="http://mms/" mmsproxy="andmms.softbank.ne.jp" mmsport="8080" type="default,mms" />
[COLOR="Green"]CORRECT[/COLOR]:
<apn carrier="Softbank Internet" mcc="420" mnc="20" apn="andglobal.softbank.ne.jp" user="andg001softbank" password="pumbbghkpgyybsxa" mmsc="http://mms/" mmsproxy="andmms.softbank.ne.jp" mmsport="8080" type="default,mms,hipri" />
And some AOKP based ROMs(also I think ALL) don't have it! (there are no APN settings of andglobal.softbank.ne.jp!)
I tried modifing apns-conf.xml before flashing CodeFireX SR12, but it doesn't help.
So I think the problems are not only from apns-conf.xml.
Please help us.
Thanks in advance.
