since no one had done it yet, I'll take the liberty I suppose. I'm created a different thread as there is likely some differences between sbrissen's build and Darchstar's build. This way we can keep the issues between the two builds in two separate threads.
Consider this the thread to keep general chat about the ROM, thank you's, and brick issues so the dev thread doesn't continue down the path of being and uncontrolled cluster f**k

Well guys...after owning my 4th android phone and rooting/flashes with all of them....I finally bricked last night. Tried changing my font with rom toolbox on this rom and something went wrong. Maybe a corrupt file. I went in to sprint and told them I couldn't get my phone to turn on, they checked it out and handed me a new phone. I was hard bricked and only getting the blue led. No download mode or recovery obv. Just wanted to share my experience. Hope I can help stop these bricks. But yeah I've already rooted my new one and I'm getting ready to flash cm7 -cm9 from darchstar.

...there are still quite a few people on alpha 4, no? Different builds, different issues. If its all in one thread, people are constantly going to have to ask whether someone is on alpha 4 or not.
Just trying to keep everything separate so its easier to see what problems are specific to which builds. If the mods feel this should not be the case, feel free to delete.

Ya I agree with you. This is my only device and if I were to brick it I would be F**ked and my wife would KILL ME while i was sleeping. I thought i would at least put the option out there. I want to do my part to enhance development is all my intention is. I think the risk is Low to moderate in terms of actually bricking a device but I always expect the worse and hope for the best. Like I said I would rather be 100% honest then Lie and someone god forbid brick there device. Im seeing a couple threads and apps on here with no update.zip, I know I like to use update.zips, helps me keep files I want in a form I can easily use and save.
Anyways this uses the hacked S Voice that does not require the modding of your build.prop (which breaks so many apps and functions on your phone). It will remove the original voicetalk.apk and remove vlingo.apk if you have it installed. so this is pretty much a universal patch now for phones that will work with S Voice.
It is also recommended to change you language and input settings.
1.System settings/ language and input/ voice recognition, now set this to Samsung powered by Vlingo.
2. Under voice search do the same if you have more than one option.
3.Text-to-speech output, you can change this to either Google text-to-speech, or SamsungTTS. I am using SamsungTTS atm and its working perfect.
Well here is the download enjoy!

Nah version 2 should be good for you, v3 only removes the other files that the user would have to remove before installing S Voice, which many arnt aware they have to, so v3 solves that problem and should cut down on some questions around here

Not sure if many people were aware or not but Codename put out a ROM for our Sprint version. It's up on GOO and also if you just google Codename Android, his site will come up. Not sure why he didn't open a thread on here.
I ran his Roms on the Nexus and it was awesome, lots of customizations. It's more like AOKP as far as options as opposed to CM.
Edit: DO NOT FLASH YET, ISSUES BEING WORKED OUT.

Ktoonz kernel is my favorite, there is no best though... things didn't match what was shown because you have to use the ktweaker app and change your governor and io scheduler to the ones who's tweaks you're looking at...

Trial and error, Google and the kernelizers thread will be your best friend throughout your journey of ktoonz kernel tweaking... you can find that thread in general section... in the op you will see links to the team's box account that has pudding setups for you to use... gman and mw86 have the top battery saving setups with great performance also... read through the op and ask any questions about tweaking you may have in there... if anybody gives you a hard time on any questions you may have tell them I sent you!
