[Q] Fastboot blue light only stays on for few seconds. - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I'm trying to unlock my bootloader and when I hold the search button and plug in the usb, the blue light comes on for a few seconds but then the orange light comes on for charging. Can someone tell me how to make it stay in the fastboot mode? Thanks.

Isn't fastboot activated by the back button?

Thats a green led light for something else.

Oh yeah now I remember. Back button is used for flashing an ftf file.

BTW: no need to make it extra large - we are all capable of reading and will take our glasses if needed...

I checked and it said no but the blue light turned on for a couple seconds and I don't think it's supposed to if that's the case.

Sorry to resurrect this thread (though it isn't that old luckily!) but I'm having a similar problem. I've got the correct drivers installed (device manager shows that it's installed properly), I've checked in the config menu on the device itself and it shows 'Bootloader unlocked: Yes', but when I plug the USB cable in and hold the search button to go into fastboot the blue light will come on very briefly then turn orange to show it's charging. Has anyone got any ideads how I might fix this?

Don't plug it in first. Hold the search button, then plug it in, and keep holding it for a short moment.

Same here, it stays in for a few seconds then goes back to orange
I'm using WIN 7 64 and I think R800a but switched to Jellybean it says R800i now hmm
I hold the search button before it booted now nothing happens, but when I plug it into USB it does like what it would do if it was holding onto it

[Q] One X Dead Single Red Flash

Hi,
My one X has completely died. I replaced the screen on it but now when I try and turn it on I get one solitary red flash off the charging LED after 2-3 seconds of holding the power button down and that's it. The weird thing is that I only get the red flash when the USB/charger is plugged in. After that I have to unplug the USB/charger for about ten seconds, plug it back in and then it will flash again when the power button is held down. I've measured the battery voltage and it is reading 4.00v. Anyone have any ideas at all? It's not as if I can send it back to HTC because if you open it, it is obvious I've opened it.
It's happened to me a few times before, I think it happens when the battery is completely dead.
I left mine on usb for a while, and then entered it into hboot mode by holding the volume button (down I think) and the power button. After you get to hboot could take a couple of tries, enter into recovery and then reboot the system and place it on the wall charger asap.
Hope it helps.

If u look on here there is a bat file for your phone that loops your phone on fastboot.
This allows a minute charge to the battery increasing its power and then should be able either to boot up or restore via RUU file for your phone.
Make sure you have ADB/Fastboot drivers installed and wait for an hour or so when running file

At the moment, when I plug the phone into my PC, it doesn't recognise anything being connected. When I run the find connected devices in the SDK platform tools it doesn't find anything either. Will the above still work or am I goosed.

Hold vol down and power and should show white screen with 3 androids at bottom and in blue text should say hboot.
Press power once and should change to fastboot in red text.
Connect phone and see if detected by pc then. (You dont run via sdk if drivers are installed correctly)
If you dont have drivers go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2135381 and install.
When I press the power button and down volume at the same time nothing happens at all. Regardless of how long I press them for. I'm pretty sure it's properly dead. If my pc doesn't recognise anything being connected I can't load drivers or anything to it. Might have to consign this one to the bin.....

Xperia S - Red LED - No Clue What I'm Doing

Hey folks.
So I got this Xperia S, never touched water, never dropped in water, etc. etc.
When I open it up, in the back the PH (I assume) strips are read (I assume they're supposed to be white)
When I connect charger the LED shows RED (constant) pushing keys does nothing (no vibration)
If I plug it into the PC while holding down volume DOWN the LED changes to GREEN
If I plug it into the PC while holding down the volume UP key the LED changes to BLUE
What do I do to fix it? It won't start, sometimes when I plug it in the "charging" animation plays for a brief second then dissapears.
Regards

its supposed to be white, red is for water damage.....as far as ur led light is concerned its working properly......those are the right colors .....if u still have ur warranty i suggest u send it back to sony......as u have not mentioned if ur boot loader is locked or not or that ur phone is not booting coz of the red strip or if u bricked it cant really suggest anymore......but if its bricked just connect it to pc via the vol up and connecting and install a ftf file of desired firmmware via flash tool....or if u have a locked bootloader use sony update service (SUS)

[Q] HTC One V doesn't start anymore, how can I get it working again?

Hey guys,
a while ago, the HTC One V of a friend of mine just shut down and now it doesn't start anymore I tried to reset it by pressing the power button and the vol down button for about 10 seconds, but it just does nothing. If i connect it to the charger, the led is blinking orange, also if I connect it to the PC it's blinking, but the PC doesn't recognize it and the screen stays black. I also tried to restart it while holding it under a bright light, but that also doesn't work.
It wasn't rooted and the bootloader was locked and stuff, he just used it normally.
I hope you can help me, the things I found in the forums didnt work

No
try leave it charging for a day and then try to turn it on
I'm in a similar situation. got the phone from a friend, who has not used it in almost a year. i charged it for a long-long time, but it still doesnt turn on. tried hard reset, still nothing. when i connect it to the pc it installed the correct drivers, etc. but i tried to connect it via the all in one toolkit and it did not recognize the phone. utorrent recognized it as a usb disk. really strange. is there any chance of recovering it or send it to htc? (which would not be a cheap solution without the warranty)

Is it still possible to revive a Sprint Note 7?

Sorry for the noob question, I've been trying to search everywhere with no luck.
I recently found a Sprint Note 7, and was wondering if I can still revive it.
It's currently at 0%, however, If I plug it in, it shows the battery icon.
If I try to go into download mode, while plugged in, by holding vol -, home, power, it just does a bootloop.
Is it still possible for me to revive this? Maybe a guide somewhere I havent found?
Thanks!
I can help you brother

Nice, thanks. What do I need to do?
Hello.
Here are the steps to force the download mode after the kill update :
Connect it to the pc
Volume down, home and power keys for 3 seconds then remove your fingers (3times)
Congratulations you're in download mode now [emoji6]

Im not sure if I understand you correctly.
I connected it to PC, phone vibrates, then shows the battery icon with the lightning bolt, computer does the USB sound, but on device manager it says "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"
Anyways, I press and hold Vol- home and power key together for exactly 3 seconds, and nothing happens. I did this up to 10 times, nothing really happens.
Alternatively, I tried holding the buttons till something happens, which is the screen turns black, USB disconnect sound on PC, I release the buttons, phone vibrates and shows the samsung splash screen, then phone vibrates and shows battery icon again. I did this around 10 times as well, but no luck.
Also worth mentioning, I didnt disconnect the usb cable at any point. Am I supposed to?
Is there something I am doing wrong?
Update - It seems I can get it to boot into the the screen before the download mode when plugged into an outlet. However, if I hit Vol+ to go into download mode, it restarts.
A few ideas
I've had largely the same experience with mine. It seems to need an excessive amount of power in order to boot into download mode. I managed to get it into download mode while plugged into a computer by using a y cable to plug it into an outlet first, then swap the one usb input to the pc. However despite my efforts, the pc still would not recognize my phone, and Odin would not acknowledge that it was plugged in.
