I just woke up here in Arizona. My phone is saying it is 8:23. It is actually 7:23. We do not observe DST here.the only way to fix this was to go into settings and turn off automatic time zone.

Indeed. Fail Google. Although...
Are you both on Verizon? Maybe it is Verizon's fault?
Edit: I rebooted and its correct again.

That may be, but ICS is not refreshing the time once it is set. It takes a reboot to work.

It reset for me without any issue so it might just be a Verizon problem. I'm with T-Mobile.

Certainly possible.
The thing is, we don't use DST and the phone assumed we did. Doesn't TX observe DST?

For the folks its working fine for, I can tell at least one from their location is not in Arizona.
I ended up just unchecking the automatic Time Zone option and set it to -7 Arizona. It was set for -6 Mountain Time
Same problem here, in phx, Verizon gnex and iphone 4s both had the bug, both corrected themselves with no intervention around 0930

You're right. We do observe it here in Texas. Seems like it points more towards Verizon but I'd like to know if more people from Arizona are having the same trouble.

This. We're the same as Mountain for half the year and the same as Pacific for the other half. Mine thought it was Mountain when set automatically until I manually changed it to Manual.

I thought I would share this since the problem is widespread. You might want to inform other Sprint users on other devices.
If you get texted a picture and the picture never comes this is what you can do.
1. Open "Settings" in the messaging app.
2. Turn off "Auto Retrieve".
3. Select the message that has the pic that won't come through.
4. Click "Download". Wait for a second while it downloads the picture.
5. Now turn back on "Auto Retrieve".
Hopefully Sprint will get this issue fixed.
Just checked this on VZW as well and it works. Thanks for the info

I am on WindMobile, and this workst great for me, so i do not think it is a carrier related, may be it is Android Related.
This is a good find. Next time this comes up I'm giving it a shot.
This could be an issue with CDMA networks vice Android, unless some GSM users come in and report the same problem.

(know that it's an old thread)
Having some very bizarre behavior from my Nexus recently.
I was trying to set up Latitude when I noticed the phone had my location down as Lynnwood, WA. This is somewhat amusing since I am in Newcastle Upon Tyne, in the UK - so my GPS is a mere 2,350 miles out.
I tried resetting the data in Maps and that has fixed the maps location, however, whenever I add a weather widget such as Beautiful Widgets or HD Widgets, both think I am still in Lynnwood. Yet in Google Now, it knows where I am, and the Maps know where I am, so where is it getting this information from?
Any ideas?
I'm pretty sure its Google Location Services doing this, but other than turning it off, with repercussions that has, I don't know how to fix it.
Go into Google Now->Settings->Privacy and accounts, and check Use Google.com
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
You can also try FasterGPS from the market, a free utility that lets you select the GPS server for your region. Reboot after making any changes.

I continually had this problem with my Droid incredible (I'm in California and it kept saying I was in china). I never found a fix, even switching to using Google's location. It eventually fixed itself on my phone most of the time but my wife's kept doing it. Verizon refused to replace our phones even though this didn't happen to everyone and was obviously an issue with the phone. For me rooting and flashing any ROM that wasn't stock took care of the issue on both phones permanently. Luckily we haven't had this issue since we upgraded to the nexus and she got the Droid razr.

Apologies, I mixed them up. The phone thinks I am near Seattle. Washington State not DC. Get confused with Washington at times, we also have a town called Washington about 10 miles away

Interesting. I don't mind flashing ROMs, have done so before many times on my N1, SGS2 and others. I was going to keep this phone stock so I could have a good all rounder without any weird glitches but I have so far found many weird glitches, so what is the point in staying stock I guess...

Great find! What's interesting is that Google has been tracking how much you walk since late September. Did you by any chance just get your device/factory reset it then?

It appears to use latitude to track your location history.

Doesn't it drain battery?
I think it just works if you have enabled location history, without keeping GPS on.

i have 4 full bars of lte where i live. my htc one got maybe 1 or 2 bars. lg radios are kick ass.
k an update i ended up returning my phone and getting the Samsung s4. reason being i found out the lg dose not have a very good radio for rural areas. i found that it only has like two freq. for 3g and 2 for 2g. maybe with a rooted phone you can change out the radio from another phone or something. But an un-rooted phone it sucks. I really liked the phone too because nice big screeen and every thing.
Oh and the s4 blew the lg out of the water as far as signal and everything. I had an htc inspire before and had to mod my antenna in order to make phone calls from my basement. i was able to do the same with the s4 with out doing any thing too it.
me 2
I haven't narrowed it down to an exact interval of time but I've seen this a number of times as well. I half wondered if it was because of the WiFi tethering changes I made as it was not happening prior to that change. It's only been the last few days...
