I love all the ringer options that are in the CM9 releases but I am too stupid to know where they are stored ( I looked in /sdcard/ringtones) and tried a search and came up with a fail (might be user fail.)
any help on the path of those files on the phone would be greatly appreciated.
Ringtones stored on your phone are in system\media\audio. Also there is a Q&A thread for CM9 where there are lots of helpful people.

hello all i just deleted over 1gb of music i had on my phone.
my problem is when i go to the stock music widget to see if its all gone it still shows all my music and when i hit play it says something like cant play this type of media file.
how do i make it to where it can recognize that there is no media left and i deleted everything that its showing up ?
i rebooted twice and nothing unmounted and mounted sd card and still shows up
any help would be apreciated:
Try an app called "sd rescan" or something to that effect.

can someone please try and help me figure out my situation?
Problem: everytime i flash an AOSP based ROM, my pictures will not show up in google gallery(they show up in quickpic) and my music will not show in any music player ive tried.
Ive searched the whole file system for .nomedia files, there isnt one on the root of the storage.
can anyone help me resolve this?
Bump. I have more info, when I plug Into the computer, I can't access the ext SD card and only a handful of the folders in my phone show up like Music, Pictures...

Damn dude, sorry, but I stayed away from AOSP for several reasons, and the mixed up mount points drove me crazy. I dont think I ever got it workng 100%. Didnt really try maybe, I missed TW.

Thanks! At least I got some feed back. I ended up fixing it. But it took all day. I had to Odin back to stock, re root. Then format the phones SD card and the external SD card. Now she works beautifully!

I'm sorry if someone already asked this (tried searching but didn't find the exact same question).
Is it possible to set a default storage location for all apps downliads/pictures? I know how to do it in camera and some apps have a setting option for this. But I've uninstalled many apps (wallpapers etc) simply because I'm too frustrated with transferring files manually.
For example, my instagram saves pictures to device memory and it really bothers me...

Thanks so much for the link. However, I'm not trying to move apps to sd card because I don't have that many apps. And I don't really want to root my device.
I want to set all app downloads to sd card. Some apps have a setting for that but some don't.

And i knew it were gonna move many of my media file to another folder which i cannot find anymore i have : sdcard0/1 and emulated folder also I've been checking everywhere and i cannot find them anymore please tell me i didn't loose them forever !

What is changing to a new rom going to do for him? If his music is gone it's gone... Unless I'm missing something? Why isn't your music on your computer or somewhere else? How did you get it on your phone, lol? If it some where and you can't find it, pull everything from your storage places and put them on your PC and search both files with in your computer search index and see if you can find them... If they are there, then create a folder named /music and you will good to go. If they aren't there then get new music or however you got them there in the first place.
Im really getting fed up whit this ... The way it makes another folder where everything elses moves there is really nonsense i have lost all my game data's also my titanium backup

So i downloaded all of my musics whitin my device reason i never store music on my pc is because i barely do use it...
I guess i could do that too but i once remember i restored an backup and everything was in its place ? Its weird..
Also since i use various apps to get my music they are in different folders there js nothing inside my /music folder is this anything bad ?
I could download the music back also but takes quite a while + my lost game datas and precious images :/
Off topic : thoughts on the xperia t ? Im wanting to buy one..

I would start putting the music somehwere other then only on phone storage, just in case. I've accidentally wiped internal storage once, and I've had External sdcards go bad or just randomly out of no where lose all data in it. make a dropbox and do TiBu once a week and move them there your self with some type of file manager if you don't wanna pay the money for Titanium Backup pro. I also bet all your stuff is there you are just looking in the wrong places. What file manager are you using to look for your "lost stuff"?

Yeah dropbox is a good idea and i use root explorer and oi file manager tried whit both same results folders are not being shown but if i restore my nandroid backup they all come back ? Until i come back on a 4.2 aokp/aosp rom..

list all the areas you are looking for the media... what is your recovery?
Aokp is awesome ROM. I dont mean to be rude but if you think those files are still there (in your phone) ;install different ROm or restore backup and pull al data from it. And wipe both internal and external cards. Amd install aokp and enter those files again via PC.

Sorry for late answer but i looked into sdcard/storage0/storage1/usbdisk/ also checked emulated and legacy folder...

I realize they don't take up space with nothing in them, but I would really like to do away with the Movies, Pictures, Playlists, and Podcasts folders that are automatically generated on the SD card.. You cant as they are automatically generated by the system. I am sure there is a way to mod the apk's but I can't say that would be worth it.
