if you fancy ICS, pay attention to the 'not working' lists and any fixes.
Otherwise, BlackIce or Energy™ ROMs might be more suitable alternatives.

You can Install ARHD (Android Revolution HD) With or Without Sense.
ARHD is very good stable and smooth, ARHD 6.3.2 is very stable where as 7.0.2 is newly ported from XL.

If u want all working n non sense,u can try the blackice but that is gingerbrea

I'll back binYaqoob on this....ARHD is a very good rom...I've been using arhd 7.0.2 for 2 weeks now working like a charme!!!

You will get many opinions, I use RCMIX3D v4.0 or Runny Droid v5.0

Top roms
I've only been flashing for few months and have been trying all latest releases but overlooked Cyanogen 7.1 coz it's 6 months old. But flashed it last week and wish I'd done it months ago. It looks great, is completely stable, smooth and fast and is customizable to an incredibly fine level. Must also give respects to LordClockan's ICS which looks fantastic and is getting better all the time, and ARHD for their great, stable, sense Rom's.
Can't wait for official DHD ICS leak to bring us full features and hopefully Cyanogenmod 9 shortly after.

For non sense roms...black ice or absolution!
For sense...well rcmix 4.0 in my opinion...my opinion mind lol is the most complete but many have gone past it now as development stopped on rcmix..look at smartdroid..runnydroid..erebus for clean sense
The list goes on...
Bear in mind ics is still in development if you love your camera keep it on your back up amd just update on ics updates...its not just lords..twisted has got a more cyanogen feel to it.and there's acension which is also top quality

[Q] LeeDroid 2.4.1 is stable?

Would anyone please give me the idea of its stability? I am trying to find a mod rom stable & can extend the battery life. Thank you
I'd sooner go with the 2.3d if I were you. I think that reading less than 10 last pages of the thread in question could give enough evidence to back up this statement of mine.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
I find it works very well on my device, stable, smooth and fast, tried the GB builds and came back to 2.4.1. The battery life made me come back.

LeeDroid 2.4.1 is very stable, it's the better froyo sense rom, you should try Gingerbread Sense Rom like InsertCoin or RCMix S, both are very good

2.4.1 is very stable , clean and fast. I like "sence" , and this is the best rom out there .

Same here. The only thing i disagree with is battery. GB are equally good now. I think even a little bit better when actually using the ROM (when phone is awake).
BUT, LeeDroid 2.4.1 is rock solid. All GB roms are based on TEST leak, and devs are porting stuff from sense 2.1 and 3.0 to them, which does cause few bugs here and there. It'll get there once official update is released.
I love the way Lee stayed away from porting stuff and just concentrated on optimizing existing software, adding most usefull addons you can find on xda.
LeeDroid 2.4.1 gets my vote for now, it's just to good not to use it
If you do not want Gingerbread, it is the most stable Froyo ROM, but GB has some advantages like battery RAM Management. If you will use A2SD, you may try InsertCoin Sense2.1 with GB.
+1 vote for 2.4.1
stable and smooth
skip 2.4.1 and go to LeeDRoid 3.0.x, might as well make the most of upgrading your system, and start getting used to Gingerbread!
Actually, that wasn't very helpful I guess. My bad. I've used LeeDRoiD roms pretty much since i first rooted, and I'd say they are up there with the best software you could want on your phone. They are definitely stable and pretty good on battery use. I only used 2.4.1 for a few days before i went to 3.0.2, but it was fairly solid.

Which is the best rom for HTC Desire?

yet another thread about rom recommendation
lol, theres loads
personally, i'd say the one i'm running with launcher7- see sig.
well imagine EVERYBODY could cut & paste this reply. what is your favorite colour? i like red but it's not blue enough for some. better just try a few & see what takes yr fancy
The most stable imo is GingerVillian, it's a stock Gingerbread ROM with latest Google Market.
Runnymede AIO all the way for me, it is a brilliant rom.
Lol, I don't know who's moar funny here, trolls or those who spoon feed morons again, and again and again out of some false courtesy and thinking they are helpful....
If you want an AOSP rom try CyanogenMod 7, it's fast and stable. If you're searching for a Sense rom I think Runnymede AIO is the best at the moment
I wanted to know what are the best roms too but then i realized that i would have to try it out.
It really depends on you, do you want Sense or stock design, usability or speed...
I can really recommend you Redux or Oxygen, both are fast and both have propably everything what you need.
But it is my taste, i don't really like sense roms for example...
imo the best is not created yet
at the moment i have CoolSense 3.0 Aces v6 Bravo (it is so fast and stable), before i had LeeDroid 2.5 (stable, but no so fast, good battery life) and good factory stock rom
It's a hard question
I've tried cyano but i want lo have sense so i put InsertCoin.
Then i tried gingerbread with Aurora and now I have runnymede.
The last two is very good rom.I prefer the first because it's more easy but if u want a complete rom, use runnymede.
Oxygen is the most stable custom rom on desire imo. Its essentially hack free with a great kernel.

I used to enjoy the stock roms, but found that sense was terrible. I, personally, would go for the latest Oxygen release for stability. I'm currently using Sandvold's ICS rom and enjoying it, but it isn't without it's bugs currently.

Best ICS rom?

What is your favorite ICS rom on the DHD in your opinion? I do like aospX (it's what I'm proudly running now) but I was wondering what you guys think about the Sense 4.0 roms and other choices like Paranoid, Virtuous Quattro? How are they coming along? Battery life/smoothness/overall experience?
I hated everything Sense 3.0 and wanted to get rid of it the moment I bought my phone. It looks like it's improved quite a bit, though. :good:
Thanks community.
Sinaisinai43
Vitrous infinity.......
sense 4+ working camera....
now just alpha release.................but lesser bugs than thought...:victory: :victory:
IceColdSandwich is the best.
Virtuous infinity is very slow in my phone now.

I'd have to agree with oli.98 IceColdSandwich has never done me wrong, however I've moved from it to Jelly Bean

I would say "Use p10 Nikez rom, its far more stable than any gingerbread rom" but I don't feel like trolling today lol
Nick's Phone Compiled From Oxy/Roalex With Mods, cm7r2 hboot
Very fast and stable
CM based roms seem to be stable and fast for most users.
Try them if you think "oxygen" is good but a little "naked".
On topic: I'm using MildWild 5.0. Fast, stable, looks good.
Troll-topic: Shaky's Sense 4.0 rom. Most stable I've ever seen.

Nikez?
I have tried Sandvold's ROM (ICS) for a long time but switched to Nikez. Stable, clean and fast.
If you want to try: install i.e. 4EXT as recovery and stick to install-instructions and partitioning.
Also on Nikez site.
Goog luck!

True, true, you're right: it's pre-alpha. And I was talking about Nikez JB P10.
As a 'normal user' of P10 I am very satisfied with this ROM and I do have some experience with other ROM's (not only Sandvold). Only a few things (thing?) does not work. Also, the forum-thread of Nikez JB P10 reads (almost) same opinions - if you filter the problems with installing 3d party scripts.
Even remarks as 'worht beta' can be read.
My suggestion is user-to-user (SeeZaar), from my point-of-view as a Desire-JB P10 user.
Cheers!

for stability and speed i would heartily recommend redux2-31.08-test which is a stripped gingerbread rom which i used exclusively for over a year. it has a wicked pull-down notification bar full of custom shortcuts. very stable despite the test title.
if you're looking for an ICS flavour i'd agree with earlier recommendations for spaze dog. i found it a bit more complicated to install successfully but once up & running it's been faultless.
hope that helps.
Coolexe's Cool Droid v3.
By reading those threads one could believe we have fully working & bug free ICS + JB. :silly:

Best Rom for Daily Use

Just looking to hear what peoples favorite roms are. My brother and I traded phones, he's been using stock and it kept freezing on him. Looking for the best rom for daily use with alot of features
hit me!
I think ice cold sandwich is stable for daily use.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
I currently use Ice Cold Sandwich as well and its great. You might want to also try Existz' AOSP in the Inspire forum. If you want a Sense Roms, then Sabsa Prime and Blackout are pretty good.
I am using jelly time r10.1. I have absolutely no issues with it. It is great. I set my DPI to 160, and it fits the phone excellent.

CodefireX. Tons of settings. Love the thread community. Helpful, polite, on-topic. Thread usually very good about updates on stability of the latest nightly.

Sabsa Prime v6.5
Best NON Sense ICS ROM
IceColdSandwich - 8.7 - AOKP

Best non sense rom: Ice Cold Sandwich.
Very stable both of them.

I am also finding rom for daily use.
I tried about 20 roms last weekend to find a really stable and all balanced one.
If a rom has many cool feature like newest sense4 but runs laggy. => I won't choose.
If a rom runs super fast and smooth but hotspot not working. => won't choose either.
Here's what I tasted in those 20 roms:
For Jelly Bean:
JellyTime, CodefireX, Unofficial-CM are quite similar. They are all based on CM10.
CodefireX has more tweak function in settings.
But all these rom I got sensor issue.
Accelerometer, magnetic field, orientation sensors are not working for me. (But for some others working great)
So JB rom is still far from stable for me.
For ICS with Sense:
If you want all function working, you can try Nik Project X v4.1. But I feel all sense 4 roms laggy.
If you like a smoother one, you can try Sabsa Bliss v2.0. It's sense 3.6 from Incredible S and suits for DHD, The only bad is wifi hotspot not working.
I think we can have a perfect ICS rom with sense 3.6 in the near future, just looking forward to it
For ICS without sense (AOSP)
IceColdSandwich v8.7 is the best. It's fast, light weight and many tweak settings from AOKP.
If you are not a pefectionism like me...You can choose it.
But I use camera very often. And the Camera in Sense always have better quality than in AOSP.
HTC must do image enhancement in its camera app.
......so...After a long trip to JB and ICS, I go back to GB with sense 3.5 finally......
I choose Runny Xtreme Surprise by XxXPachaXxX.
It's fast enough, many features beyond stock rom, only tiny bugs and good camera
The only bad maybe is it's a GB rom lol...
At last, I still wish HTC will release an official ICS RUU to DHD. Or, at least, an offical kernel source.
Also sabsa blish is very stable but I can't find tweaks for this from.

Hi.. I've been trying the same for weeks .. tried many ROMs but looking for a stable sense 3.6 or 4.0 ROM (ICS). Currently on SABSA PRIME 6.0 .. only issue is its becoming more & more slow with time as I fill it up with apps & stuff .
I actually use camera a LOT so if any 1 can suggest a stable (sense) ROM with "PERFECT" camera .. I wud appreciate that. Doesn't matter if its GB even

IMHO and my experience, every ROM is like that, even stock. Android is like Windows in that regard, more sw you install, slower it gets.... I didn't come to the conclusion if it's because of the widgets or just because of number of installed programs...
Now I need to figure out if I like sense or not I guess. thus far Jelly Bean has been my favorite on my play despite the fact that like half the stuff doesn't work >.< So we'll see...
Thx for all the places to start.
