[REQ] white themed framework for dialer, contacts & msg app - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hi, I was looking around korean smartphone website, and found these pictures.
i mean, they would go great with the white SGSII, wouldn't they? or even with balck SGSII!!
the color of stock framework for dialer, contact & msg app doesn't match the color of the phone IMO.
I noticed a post in this thread that someone did post white framework. I'm not trying to be disrespectful (they did a great job), but the colors seemed little bit off, i should say?
Due to lack of knowledge, i'm not capable of doing these. I was just wondering if anyone is capable of, and/or willing to make these frameworks for US tmobile white SGSII juggernaut or stock roms.
screen shots of original theme (korean version):

needs more work, but still awesome. hope dillym34 would furnish the theme more.
what do u guys think of these?

White dialer and phone
Here ya go should be almost exactly as in the pictures minus the asian characters. only thing themed is the contacts, phone and twframwork.res

and i can flash whole zip via recovery, correct ?
i could try the adb push thingy, but i know only little about it
for example, i know that i have to use this code in cmd.
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework
but i don't know the directory (or sub) for the phone & contacts apk.
plus, in the zip that you provided me, there are two contacts.apk files, and i'm not sure which one i have to use. (one in the app folder? or one that's not in any folder?)
and it wouldn't matter if i'm on stock or custom rom?
sorry to bother you with so many questions

Yes just flash in cwm should be fine. Just make a backup just in case.

thank you very much!!
is it possible for you to make zip for all the major apps?
for example, like the mms.apk (word bubbles, mms background) and settings menu, etc? so that it looks as close as the one in korean website?
i don't know if you were able to download the original (korean version) apks, but i could get it for you.
i'm even willing to donate if you could do it for me.
besides, i'm planning to share this with people as much as i can though

Not sure how that other contacts.apk got in there. Jutting delete the one outside the app folder before you flash it.

color schemes seem to be a little off in dialer, but wth, i would never have done this by myself
but framework-res looks amazing!!
thank you very much!
i'll keep your files as a reference and use it to learn how to theme.
gosh, it'll take a long time for me to learn this

Thanks. This will look great on my white sgs 2

they sure look great.
right now i've opened up both(korean & dillym34's) versions of apks (phone, contacts & mms.apk) via apk manager and compare the differences, see if i could simply move certain images over from the korean version.
i mean, is it just possible for me to just move it over and make it work?
because from the start, the dimensions of the korean and US SGSII phones are different (wonder if this matters at all)
it is so confusing to figure out in drawable-hdpi folder in apk manager to figure out which image corresponds to which section of the screen....
anyone good at these and willing to help ?

I really like the standard UI (because I'm boring and like plain n simple things)
Any help would be most epic!
I have too only simple wish. I want only green icons, fonts etc and nothing else.
Have you not tried running Darkyy's ROM? This is what I use and I have all green ICONS but it's all black everything else, I like the simpleness of the standard UI. I guess I've got to start wishing XD
Check the theme list in my sig, as far as i know there's nothing thats exactly as you've posted the screenshot - but you might find something you like even more.
Other than that, try cooking a rom in the romkitchen with just the aosp theme.
Just download Gingerbread Launcher from the market (free one) simples.
I'm already using this, what I want is a white theme like the stock UI
Sign me up aswell.. all the themes are packed with custom batteries, wierd icons and changes every day.. standard google would be nice for a change..

this is a random vid I just found on youtube.
shows the animations and effects. But i used none of the theme work shown in the vid.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqW36XEhLtI
Also I cant publish my work as it has stuff from other people in so wouldn't be right.
To start with I am no developer I just learnt bits from owning a HTC DREAM and have used a bit of that knowledge getting my galaxy s more AOSP ( hate the dark gingerbread look)
This is a framework push method as i used ADB but no understanding of how to make an update.zip file.
Okay i have modified this the framework-res file from my deodexed JPY rom.
Known problem with my "theme"
Notification bar text is still white ( date and clock)
I have asked on the vibrant ( as they rock on themes) forum and on the i9000 for someone to change my service.jar file so the text is black but no luck yet.
to push the framework you need to do this.
put the framework-res.apk into your tools folder in the sdk
then in cmd
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
also I have changed the message application to have the AOSP notifcation bubble as it is clearer to see on white background.
to push this you need.
adb push Mms.apk /system/app/
if you find anymore AOSP things or think of things that need to be changed let me know.
But this will only get support that I put onto my phone ( not a proper dev)
if you get annoyed at having a white clock in notification bar like I did you can use this to remove the clock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910191
hope you enjoy using it.

Can you help me?
Dark colour is AOSP gingerbread Also, pure white uses the most battery to display on Amoled.

Description:
Here are my transparent themed MMS apps. They took some doing, but I finally got them to play nicely. These can now flash over any Gingerbread rom on BML or MTD.
I couldn’t find any transparent Mms.apk to work on Epic Gingerbread for me and I really missed it from EC05. So, I’ve made it work on my own.
Feel free to incorporate any of these into Roms, but be sure to give thanks and leave a link to here so people know where to find more!

thanks SO much for this.. I don't have any experience really with android, but i do have experience with graphics, Photoshop, some web design and catch on quickly to new things. If you need any help doing grunt work like coloring themes or something, i could probably be of use.
I designed my website and did a ton of code edits to get plug-in software to look the way i wanted it to. www.turbosocks.com .. its nothing special, but i have some experience playing with stuff of the like.
I'd really like to have a matching Swype keyboard to the MMS 'bubbles'

Blue & Gray is my fav too, but I would like to bring the gray down more to a blacker darker tone. The transparency brought me some difficulty. However, the coloring is easy to swap out, you only need to open the .apk with 7zip and change your bubbles of choice. Unfortunately, they're .9.png's and require extra steps to work with properly, otherwise I'd pump out a bunch more of these sooner.

There is a great tutorial in the android section under themes. The font color requires an xml edit tat would probably change more than what you want and cause other text to be difficult to or impossible to read without other modifications that i don't know how to do.

MIUI v4 Beastly Black Theme

Hi all,
This is an MIUI v4 theme I've made mostly from scratch (some credits at the bottom of the description). Its basically similar to stock, but where there was white and orange there is now black and blue respectively. I've also sorted out the fonts so there should be no white on white or black on black text issues.
I've not done all of the applications yet, but have done the main ones:
- Framework and Framework-MIUI: Basically themes the majority of the system and native files. This also themes any app that uses stock images.
- SystemUI: Toggles and notification bar etc
- MMS: SMS and MMS messages etc
- Phone and Contacts: Address book, dialler, in-call menus etc.
This is my first ever theme. Its only been tested on a Galaxy Nexus although I have themed the HDPI and XHDPI folders so it should work on most devices - if not let me know the details.
I'm not sure how many more apps I will theme as its quite time consuming. It all depends on whether there are people out there who like this and want to see more or whether I'm doing this only for myself. If you want me to theme any more apps, post a comment on Deviant Art ideally saying you likey. Comments welcome.
DOWNLOAD LINK: http://originalsource.deviantart.com/art/Beastly-Black-MIUI-v4-326473269 When you download change the file extension from .zip to .mtz and then copy into your device's Theme folder.

Wallpaper isn't mine. It's called Sparkle and I thought I got it from DA or InterfaceLIFT, but I cannot find it. If anyone can, please let me know so I can give the appropriate credit.

Thank you.
I went to MIUI hoping for something like this but every theme I tried didn't work properly on the Galaxy Nexus. Figured if no-one else was going to do it I would. Its just soooo time consuming. Not helped because I'm not particularly talented - just persistent and determined to get as much pixel perfect as possible.
I have noticed a few minor visual issues where other apps use part system resources and part of their own (therefore thinking they are gonna get a white background and so have a black icon, and then get white). This is mostly google apps, which I am planning on adding to a later release assuming the community wants me to continue.
Just wish there was a way to monetize this to make it more viable to spend the time to get everything just perfect.
It didn't let me flash it.

This is for MIUI only at the moment. You download the zip, change the extension to .mtz and copy into the Theme folder. And bingo, MIUI does the rest.
It probably is possible for me to create a flashable zip to just change the appropriate resources but I haven't really looked into it yet. Focus is on getting the MIUI theming sorted. Not all things will work obviously as stock Android doesn't have notification toggles etc.

I have miui. I was actually wondering why it was in a zip file lol. But I'll change it to mtz and will try it out again. Thanks

Sorry, I should really update the OP to explain. My bad. Thanks - be sure to let me know what you think. Positive or Negative feedback welcome. It's all constructive.
It looks great! You should consider a T-Mobile theme engine one for CM9/CM10/AOKP

Pleased you liked in. Have posted a minor update to sort out some of the toast popups, copy paste dialogue etc.
Have been struggling to try and find a way to fix the white on white on the gmail settings - no solution as yet though. Looks to be that the background is hard coded. Will try and find something to sort that one out.
It looks great but I'm unable to have it recognized in themes. I've been on miui for years and renaming it didn't work, running sgs3 miui v4...
Very odd. That's the first I've heard of that issue. Changed the extension from .zip to .mtz and copied to Themes folder right? Perhaps force close Themes and see if it appears when it re-opens.

FINALLY!!!!!! THIS IS AWSOME !! NO MORE ORANGE!!! DDD One thing, do you think you will design your own softkeys? Just my opinion, they dont really look right (current ones) Still, best theme out there for GNEX D
I might do eventually. Priority is getting the core apps sorted. Then the most commonly used ones in for XHDPI (G Nex). Then consider icons, wallpaper, lock screen, screen keys etc.
Stuck on gmail settings at the moment.
Any idea what type of thing you think would work well for screen keys?

Superb theme. One thing on messages and Facebook for example the backgrounds white also so I got to hope my testing skills are great and predictive doesn't mess up. Any workaround because the theme is great

[MOD] Custom Holo dark background ~ Do it yourself! [Any ROM]

I thought i would post this for everyone, even if it isnt a massive deal and probably not something most need... We were all noobs once, so if it helps someone get their phone a little closer to what they want... Or if it helps get someone into making a theme... Then i cant say having this up is a bad thing at all...
So its a simple MOD that will allow you to add your own holo dark images to any ROM... Yes, this will even work for those of you running a theme... Where you maybe don't like the holo dark image(s) used...
Simple instructions for a simple MOD...
- Download "MyBackground.zip" from here and save it to your computer!
- Download the "HoloImages.zip" from here and save it to your computer...
- Drag and drop the two images from "HoloImages.zip" onto your desktop and edit them however you like! (Id stay at 720x1280 or stock 500x500)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Now open each Image and edit as you wish! I would recommend a simple program like GIMP or Paint.net to edit .png files...
- Once you have your image(s) just right, save them...
- Now open "MyBackground.zip" with 7-zip or WinRAR (WinfRAR seems to work better for VRtheme stuff)
- Go into:
Code:
vrtheme -> system -> framework -> framework-res.apk -> res -> drawable-nodpi
- Add your new images (it will override the current images)
- Once added, save "MyBackground.zip".... "As"... That means change the name of the zip and save it as a new file...
- Drop this into your phones storage and boot into recovery!
- Backup... Duh...
- Flash...
- Enjoy!
The absolute worst thing that can happen, is it simply won’t work... I suggest a backup, just because its a good idea... That said you really can’t even boot-loop if you follow the above... If the image(s) are named wrong, or the wrong file type... It simply won’t work... The holo background you had previous to a your flash... Will simply still be present..
NOTE: If your ROM had a transparent holo, this MOD will NOT break it... If you flashed a theme with a transparent level... Again this will NOT break it... Simply set your image(s) to the desired transparent level...
pics would be nice

How it looks is completely up to you... All theme work is trial and error... What you think looks great on your laptop, may not look great in the background of your settings or dial keypad...
Here is a sample showing stock black... To a more Touchwiz blue... As i think this is where Samsung went wrong... A simple attempt to match their blue inside the background completely changes the look of Touchwiz... Its cleaner... Its vibrant... Its still classy...
But in the end, it really does loop back around to you as a user, and what you think looks good... I can post screen shots all day, and never once hit the mark with everyone...
Very well said, but the you actually did exactly what I wanted Lol. I wasn't sure exactly what our changes would replace, wasn't quite sure what holo dark images were. Thank you very much!

Not quite your mod, but did tell me where the images for the background came from, which turned on the bulb on how to do this

Is there a way you could post the background image that you used in this screenshot? That looks simply perfect but my computer is out of service and I would love to use it for my note 2 background in settings
