Yes, Im on 2.3.4
So, I still should follow these steps?
1. Shutdown/Power Off your Gio.
2. Put your phone in recovery Mode(press: Home button + Power button toghether)
3. In recovery mode, select Update from SD-card(Use Volume keys to navigate and home button for enter).
4. Search for the root gb updated.zip file on your SD-card
5. Run the update
6. Reboot

Yes, exactly the same
Only thing is that its called gb-root.zip

how do u flash a custom ROM ?

now before you try to flame me, ive gone here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265399
from that i was able to root my phone, and also flashed a custom recovery
couple things, the tutorial doesnt say HOW to access the recovery once flashed, nor does it say HOW to flash a custom rom
can somebody point me to the tutorial for that?
im a lil confused as to flash with recovery or with the odin v1.85 thingy
Hold the volume up button and power button to enter recovery....haven't flashed a rom yet either. I guess through Odin if it's a .tar file and through recovery if its a zip. Haven't checked yet.

That's incorrect..
For Samsung Galaxy s2 epic 4G
vol down + power = download mode
Vol up + power = CWRecovery
Btw OP, your phone has to be turned off then do the button deal.

You need Odin installed on your PC, and this file I have attached. Turn your phone off, hold down both volume buttons and hook up the USB cable which is already connected to the machine running Odin. Open Odin, and select PDA, find the file you downloaded from this post and select it. Now click start in Odin & violla !
Ahh k will it wipe my data. The reason I asked is since i'm rooted with a stock ROM with clockwork recovery installed,.will I still get ota's.

No it won't wipe your data.
As far as OTAs go, it has to be stock everything.
seems to be stuck and setup connection, does it take a long time?

How to get reboot to cwm mod in stock touchwiz

Is it possible to have a command in power menu to have reboot in CWM without flashing any roms? I sort of like the stock rom, it hasnt pushed me to install anything else for now but i am in need of a reboot to cwm, is it doable?
Are you talking about a 4 way reboot menu?

What you need to do is disable autoreboot and as soon as odin says pass, remove battery from phone for 10-20s and then turn on.. I had the same problem..

Follow this post with step by step instructions, there's an attachment for Fix-Recovery that provides the custom recovery proper permissions to flash and write data on your system.

This has been discussed several time here, for future please search before you post. You can simply type "no command i9082 site:forum.xda-developers.com" on google and it will give you results specifically for xda
