Check here ...The newest Market available...
Edit: the Market on the ROM your using might be in the middle of an update as we speak...

Mine was replaced with Play Store. You should have it in the app drawer.

Mine was too. They also re-branded music and videos to Play Music and Play Videos and changed their icons. I got memo at work about the change but didn't realize how quick I would be updated. I'm on cm9 and had to reboot for the app drawer market shortcut to work after the update.

New market sucks!!!

I have tried renaming the marketupdate.apk in system/app but it still updates itself. I have tried freezing said apk with titanium backup and yet it still updates itself. I have a version of the market that I like but installing it everyday is getting old. How can I successfully keep it from updating on its own?? I'm on CM7.1 btw. Thanks.
Did you freeze the market or market updater?

I froze the Market Updater using Titanium Backup.
A quick search found me this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295800
Hope this helps...
Froze that marketupdater and the damn thing still updates. I then deleted marketupdater and it still updated to the new crap market! What the hell?

I hate it. I can search for an app and then try to install it and it just sits there forever. But as soon as I install the older version and search for the same app and install it, the app downloads and installs right away. Sigh.

Did you try clearing data and cache from the market app?

Yep, multiple times. I have installed the old version a few times now. I must have jacked with the wrong file or something cuz now the new version FCs when I try to download somthing and the old version closes as soon as I click the Market icon. LOL. I need to reinstall my ROM anyway. Fresh start.
It definitely decreased the visibility for my app. In that way I don't like it, but as a user, I got used to it.

Sideloaded apps updates in market.

I have sideloaded apps updates showing up in the market. I have tb. How do I fix it to where they don't show up because they won't update anyways?
If they aren't pirated, why wouldn't you own it on the market?

In OPs defense, I downloaded Quickoffice Pro from Amazon Marketplace when it was the free app of the day. Well it shows up in Android Marketplace place saying there is a update but won't update through Android Marketplace says app was not purchased.
Go to Amazon Marketplace and the app is up to date. But this is the only app this happens with.

I reported this issue already. I still reply to the email chain with Market support, but they still have no real update on the matter.

There is also the issue of themed apps getting minor updates and you REALLY like the themed one.

How did you get the update? Nothing has changed for me.

Idk it just happened. Also. Some apps are 50ยข such as dead space

They're re branding market. It's now called "play store". Music and books are also changing.

I think google play store sounds stupid. But its whatever. Is it any better than market??

Force close app and then reopen.
Here ya go.
I'm rolling with it, got the badge for my signature and everything haha
ShadowGun is also on sale; I can confirm that it plays nicely on the Inc2 (running 7.2 kang).
I say that it seems to just be adding desktop features. So, I'll be ignoring everything except for the 50 cent apps.
Can't complain about sales...

When I force close market and then enter market again I get googles privacy notifications about google play store. But the app still says Market in the top left. The 49 cent deals are nice but I picked up most of what I wanted during the 10 cent app special several months ago.
Hmm... so I have the new "market" installed, running CM9. I have never used Google Video, so I'm not sure if this has been an issue in the past, or it's something new, but....

It was like this way before for Market rentals on rooted devices, iirc.
If anyone is having trouble purchasing apps from the Android Market that you side-loaded or got from another Store (Amazon, GetJar) then you can try and use this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23356474&postcount=18
I just used this guide to purchase an app I had previously gotten for free from GetJar.
Google Play is a generically lame name. meh.
I found that their update broke the market link on my phone. workaround was to open a market link from the browser and then choose 'open with GPlay' from options.

It broke mine too but only for a minute, i just kept clicking on it like a madman and finally the icon changed to Google play and it opened lol

Essentially its the same market with updates.. tried to make it flashy by changing what the name is and all it does is irritate me because I still look for market in my drawer... As long as google doesn't make this like a steam client where the games have to be ran through google play, ill be ok

I've heard that people having problems downloading from the market are using killalldrmserver in a terminal to make it work again.

Does anyone have the apk for N.O.V.A. 2 HD that comes pre-installed on the Touchwiz ROMs?
I currently do not have this phone activated with Sprint and it will not download on Wi-Fi for some reason. I only have the shortcut link that tells you that it requires additional files. I do not need the SD files since I already have them.
If anyone can pm me a link it would be appreciated.

did u try play store? if not then maybe google it.. shouldnt be hard to find.. i for one paid for the latest nova
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I checked the Play store and it needs to be purchased.
But when I still had Sprint service the app came with the phone. Upon first boot it installed a shortcut that once opened downloaded the application over 3G. Why should I pay for the app if it comes preloaded?
I've checked Google and the only ones I find will start the game where it loads the first cinematic then crashes. Skipping the cinematic will give a black screen then the app stops responding.

it was a demo
Well in that case I guess I don't want it if it was only a demo...
I never played it with my last E4GT... downloaded the files then bricked before trying it.
