I hv flash a .sense Rom on my WFS and i used battery calibration, everything seem to work fine, but i notice the battery percentage indicator is incorrect.
Case 1:
I charge the device till full and run battery calibration, after few hours without using the device, the battery shown is still 100%. after that i run some apps n games, the battery immediately shown 96%, after few minutes the battery drop to 88%.
Case 2:
Battery shows diff reading after a reboot, let say I now have 50%, after 1st reboot it show 45%, I feel that is getting weird, then I reboot again, the battery show 48%..
Anyone know what is going on n any solution for that?

You have a miscalibrated battery...Try wiping battery stats via CWM...if it doesn't work try removing the battery for 2-5 minutes...with 4 minutes for me being the sweet spot...the latter solution works for me...try and test...

Yeh all I've read about battery calibration in the past few months since I got my WFS unlocked and started playing around is that Battery Calibration is a pointless task that does nothing.
Anyone else find it amusing that some ROMs still include it as part of the initial setup?

Currently it is depleting reaaaaly fast. Down to 32% in 3 hours.
It was fine, My fiancee installed some Nexus one battery calibrator? She messed with the settings and now its got real bad.
I have no clue what she did and nether does she.
Let it deplet completely and charge it with the phone off. Monitor when will the phone go off, at how many percent.
Calibration method is not to be use ever ever _ever_(I can't stress this enough) to prolong your battery life, it is only to be used if your mV and % status are out of sync. It could be that she whacked your battery - calibration threads are full of such reports. I hope it sorts itself out after a cycle or two.
I know that program, it is really good, when you know what you are doing. But can mess up things.

my baterry is not synchronised every time when i flash a new rom (shuts down at 14 %)
the fix for this is to fully charge it while powered off (and then it turns off at 3%)
btw there are few methods for calibrating
find which one works for you ... for me it worked the one i have mentioned even if it doesn't look like calibrating

My desire, after:
an inability to restore nandroid backup
a possible corrupted sd card
a usb brick and inability to mount some nand partitions
and finally succeeding in fixing it, now using/running:
2.29.405.5 stock rooted rom
a new sd card (samsung 16GB class 6)
clockworkmod 2.5.0.7

seems that has battery issues. When it reaches below 30%, it drains a lot faster. In example few minutes ago, the battery was below 30% level and after sending a couple of sms messages the phone, without the "Connect the charger" indication shut down. Not even the battery icon was red.
What should I do?
After flashing the above ROM I ran an app called battery calibration (could this be the culprit?).
I haven't experienced such problems before the whole mess mentioned above.

Well, it seems to me like a "classic" battery meter calibration issue.

Regarding the matter of battery wear because of complete discharges, Li-Ion batteries do indeed have a lower cycle count than old-school batteries, but the standard charge/discharge number a Li-Ion battery can take is ~350, so you can't damage the battery pack by doing a full cycle per month (required to keep the battery meter accurate).

Did this work you mate? I have the same issue with my year old batter now... the phone shuts down @ 40% without any warning... and when I charge it, it starts from 0% and as soon as it hits the 58% mark, it jumps to 100% by itself... and i cant seem to figure out what the hell could I do to fix it... I tried calibrating the battery using the awesome method described here http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/11823-battery-calibration-thread 3 times and nothing changed...

Weird that after calibration you still get that kind of issues, does this only happen on your current ROM? I have the latest CM in my desire and everything works just fine... Maybe try another ROM if calibration doesn't work to see if it's a hardware or software issue
i actually had issues with MIUI first.. the phone randomly shut down by itself but when i turned it back on, it was perfect... then i switched back to Oxygen and while everything was fine, suddenly one day the phone died at 40% :S and from that day on the phone charges to 58% and then instantly jumps to 100%... and as soon as it gets to 40% it shuts down itself... i guess i need a new battery but i wanted to see wether i can fix this one somehow so i can use it till the new one arrives...

phone turning off at 20% is fine mate because thats the battery guards against any damage
most of the phones ( smart phones) switch off at 20% as going lower can damage the System .
It shouldnt normally..It's supposed to work fine upto 5%

My desire shutsdown itself at 13%. The Desire HD of my brother shutdown at 0-2%.
Ive tried to reset batterystats but it doesnt help.

It was Same on stock rom as i bought it newly (before 1year), it cant be because its old, and Ive calibrated it too, more Tipps i cant find there,
It is a problem with the battery stats. HOWEVER. I've read somewhere (cant remember where ) that even though its an annoying problem. Re-setting the battery stats will not improve battery life. It will give you a more accurate representation but the battery life will stay the same.
Instead of messing around ressetting stats just remember that 13% = dead battery.

Some batteries shut down with 13%, some with 20%, some with 1% and others with something between. As long as you did not notice a strange battery drain, I would just stick with 13% = dead battery (as already mentioned).

I guess it depends on the battery. I have one that goes almost until 0% and I have another one that holds only until about 11% or so... 13 is not that bad!
My desire did this, except it shut down at around 20%. I just bought a new battery, not even an official HTC one at this fixed it. Now it shuts down at 0-1%.
So basically, its just the battery imo. My battery was about 1 1/2 years old and had seen better days.

When I used CM7.0.3 I had this problem, now running LeeDrOiD HD 3.3.3 with Sense 3 and it only shuts down at 2% or less.

You need to recalibrate the registers in the battery. There is a special program that does that.
Use this howto and it will be fixed.

BTW, you need to have Cyanogenmod or Oxygen installed for this to work or a distro with a kernel that supports it.
My defy battery has been playing up every cycle now. Tried using battery calibration. Been trying both Quark and Eppy builds. Now on the latest Defy Quark build. Got a green lens defy. Haven't a clue what is wrong.
Nothing explains the massive drops. It always happens around these points every cycle.
Any solutions?
I'm having the same problem with my green lens Defy. When battery is between 40-30% it suddenly drops about a 10-15%.
I haven't been able to found a solution to the problem yet (I have yet to try battery fix, but i think only red lense Defy's need it).
At first i thought it was a battery calibration problem, but after wiping stats everything remained the same way as before (now I know that wiping those stats does absolutely nothing to the battery).
I hope it's a software related problem and not my battery dying.
I think it is ics-based. I experienced after calibration (Hard-battery-script) two drops every circle, 55-49% and 29/26-19%.

How long have you guys had the problem for?
I first found this bug after flashing CM7.2 RC1. After seen it twice, I decided to wipe battery stats but it didn't work.
After that, I flashed CM9 (epsylon build) and was behaving the same way as CM7.
I couldn't tell if this bug was happening on stock Froyo, since it didn't have any kind of battery graph and I wasn't noticing anything suspicious to install a more detailed battery app.

Although its battery has these two gaps,
it remains on power which means it lasts longer at every 1% than before when there's no gaps.
I have kept a record when I just purchased defy.
That time is 2.4 hours per 1%(full discharge) mobile(2G) standby,
and now I have these gaps (14% total)as you mentioned,but it lasts 2.8 hours per 1% at first 20% then 2.7-2.5 hours per 1% to the last.
Actually,it is the same amount and this is under 1 year use!

im using cm9.
my original defy suddenly died (got swollen) so i bought 2 new battery from two diff. supplier. (SNn5885A). it charges ok for the first time but i noticed on the first battery when it got drained. it wont charge anymore. it got stuck on 4%. the other battery, not wanting to fully drained it, turned it off at around 50%. but when i tried to turn it on this morning, it got the same thing as the other battery.
the question is, is it my phone f* the battery or they are just no good? how will i know?

My battery life on every GSI have been absolute trash. i am dropping 1% every 5 minutes while listening to spotify with my bluetooth headphones. i heard that calibrating battery is a thing which will cause the battery percentage to be shown more accurately? does anyone know how? cant find a good guide and if i do they are from 2012 etc.
to me the best guide is simply let phone shut down itself then put on charge, turn immediately phone on and let it charge to 100% without any interruption and even if on 100% let it charge for about 30 minutes to fully charge battery. ever worked since i had first android phone. i suggest you before all of this to delete data/system/ all battery data stuff then start like i mentioned. try this and if not work replace battery. if you saying battery **** out after little time even if swich between roms is not calibration issue anymore. because swiching different roms let you to format data and it means that also the battery stats files will be deleted. let me know
