Hello everyone,
I just recently got a LG Optimus LTE on the canadian telus network.
I am looking to root it. My info is as follows:
LG Optimus LTE
LG-P935
Android 2.3.5
Baseband: P935 v10a JAN 24, 2012
Kernel 2.6.35.11
I searched the forums already and came up with just one post of a user with the v10k baseband, saying he couldn't root. Hopefully i can
Thanks
Go into settings -> About Phone. If you are using V10k, you cannot root your device. If you are using v10f to v10i, you can root.

yes, but 135 also can root.
if you want to root 141, you downgrade to 135 and root.
then upgrade to 141 and root too.
135 rooting tool is here:

Thanks for jacking my thread dude, but nobody answered my question am I able to root, and if I am what program do I use?
I'm willing to pay good money for a root option for v10a. It must be possible.
seems to be possible.
checking into it now. do a search again
Yes it is possible My phone is proof, Check out the Thread Titled "Root Telus p935?"

@PrajapatiKetan,
Your link was broken, mate. For everyone who wants to try his method (at your own risk, obviously) here's the thread.
Edit, Basically, he's just suggestiong that you use unlockroot which probably just uses zergrush. I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't work.

hey guys, i realize this is for the p500, but does anyone know if the p500 root methods would work for an e720? i know theyre different devices, but were released around the same time, share mostly the same specs. ive done alot of searching but found nothing. its the wifes device and she wants rid of the preloaded carrier crap is all. thanks for any direction you can provide.
Are you talking about the LG Optimus Chic E720? From what I have read it should work considering the app (z4root) is pretty much a universal rooter for android phones. It also depends on the current firmware that you are on as some Optimus One are unable to root due to this. Best bet is to give it a shot and post your results so that others will know.
-Not held responsible if you brick the phone from using any app-
right on thanks for the reply, i was hoping z4 root will work so we will give it a shot. and yes talking about the chic. cheers and i will let everyone know if i can get it rooted
i can confirm temp root with z4root v1.3 does work for the lg optimus chic e720. i will look into the permaroot option and custom roms and report back, doesnt seem to be much of a community with the chic,
e720 rooting, procedure?
Been looking around the threads and sites. Seems the LG Chic can be easily bricked. Can someone post a detailed procedure on Rooting this e720 please?
i can confirm permanent root via z4root 1.0.3 works flawlessly.
as for custom recovery and roms we are still SOL as far as i can find..
Use Super One Click v1.7 if you are v10b or v10c, make sure you have all drivers you needed. v10a can use z4root.
for the 2.2.1, i think gingerbreak work on 2.2.1, i am not sure though because i haven't test it yet.
10d is 2.2.1 and gingerbreak can root it.

It can indeed! Hurray! At last!!!
Hi all, I am new with Android and this forum as well.
I checked with so many threads but don't know why the E720 Chic is being ignored.
Ok, back to the situation. I wanna root my Chic.
My PC run XP SP3. and as being told, I download the .Net Frame 4.0 and installed.
I got the SuperOneClick 1.9.1 and installed.
I got android-SDK installed.
My phone is running 2.2.1 firmware with the LG official ROM ver. 10e
I tried to root with SuperOneClick 1.9.1 but failed. The SOC application screen just freezed after showing : waiting device. And SuperOneClick was hang.
Did anybody get the Chic rooted successfully?
Confirmed LG Chic e720b rooted successfully right now, using installed GingerBreak-v1.20.apk
Thanks guys!!!

Thank you!! Took for ever to figure it out on my LG E720b with v10c! Nothing seemed to work. I was using the latest Superoneclick and it wasn't working but the 1.7 with the rageagainstthecage exploit worked perfectly. Thanks again!

Mine is running 2.2 v10c. How does one get 2.2.1 on this phone and up to revision v10e?
I tried the LG updater, but it tells me I am up to date.
*BUMP* Anyone know how to get it up dated by another means than the LG updater?
Hi guys, I need to root my optimus lte on telus with v10a rom version. Superoneclick doesnt seem to work. Can you help me? Also is there a way to install CM9 without root? Thanks

look there and please next time use the search button of this forum.
you need root to install CM9.
Thanks for the quick response, I did look at that thread however I am hesitant to do the unbrick method. Is there any manual method/other way I can do it?

nope. You have to flash a new KDZ file alltogether because the Telus one is unrootable.
Once you get your head around the 'unbricking method', there is really nothing to it.
or you can wait till Telus releases the next update, and hope that it is rootable.
Sorry to be a hassle but could you give me a noob type rundown on how to do this

Hi everyone,
I just registered but have been reading some of the stuff on here for a while.
Anyway, I have a Korean LG Optimus 4G LTE (Nitro HD) and just updated to ICS 4.0.4. I'd like to root it so I can clean it up a little and maybe modify some stuff, but the guides online don't refer to my exact software version.
My question is, will the root guides/software for V20e software work on my Korean V20d phone? Does the software version really matter?
Thanks

use this method it works on p930 and should work on v20d too

Thanks for the suggestion, but is there a way to do it without re-flashing the ROM (and losing all my data)?

with that method you dont loose any of your datas and you dont need to re flash your rom
there is a Video Tutorial , its very simple just follow the instructions .
I gave it a go, and after a lot of messing around to get the phone working with a Mac/VMware, it's now rooted! Thanks for the link :good:

Thanks for the posts. Just picked up this bad boy today and wasn't too sure myself.
Root complete. Now on to unlock and flashing recovery. I think I might try the CM mod out tonight!
Not working
I just picked up a LG Optimus G E973 (TELUS), yesterday, and this method isn't working. I followed the Youtube video and still nothing. I've tried it on both my Windows XP and Windows 7 laptops. Both just hang at the "If successful I will tell you ... " shell message.
The only thing that I can think of that might cause this problem is that I received a Software Update last night. My software version is E97310g instead of the E97310f that the Youtube video shows. Are there any other methods that will work or is this it?

Since the update, no current root method works, that I know of. I have the Telus OG as well, and I have the update available, but im going to wait until there is a new method of rooting. hope that explains it

As the post right above yours mentions, it's probably due to Telus firmware which was just released last night/this morning.

The only way this is possible is to flash the old stock rom and root that, then use my guide to update OTA. This is what I've done and it works for me.

Well damn. I guess I'll wait a bit longer for a reliable root method to come along. I'm sure it will happen. I just want to trash Facebook and a couple other small programs that I want nowhere near my phone. I can wait a bit longer for that.
Thanks anyway.
Use kdz updater to downgrade. Root as per normal than use root ota keeper and apply update. Worked on my telus e973

Your current software version would be helpful. If you never updated maybe. But if your running the latest version you most likely cannot root.

Read the OP carefully - first, you have to be able to rollback to Lollipop. If you can, see if you can find a pre-rooted version of your software, it will save you a lot of time. You can google root LG G4 H810 AT&T for more information, paying particular attention to XDA posts.
Good luck

Agreed ... but ... he can Google the dial pad code for his hidden menu for his phone and open SVC - I gather if it is higher than 1 then he will not be able to roll back. FYI: I did qualify with IF he can roll back ...
In any event, if he uses LGUP-NEW to flash a stock Lollipop image, it should throw throw up an error regarding the anti-rollback version roll back.
