How do I change the notification sound when receiving words with friends game play?
I only get vibration. Not sure where to change setting.
Thank you.
I should say that there is an option to set the notification sound in the Words with Friends-app itself. Try the menu button in the app.
Thank you but no option
Thank you for the suggestion but no option found.
Light flow paid app let's you customize sounds.

Even if you turn on sounds, you just get vibration for the notifications. The app is just not working properly. I haven't gotten notifications sounds from WWF for a long long time.
Thank you.

Hi All,
I am posting this reluctantly after struggling for 2 months
If I change phone to vibrate, I never get any vibration notifications for text or calander reminders even after vibration being selected?
Can anybody please help?
Thanks
Anybody!!!
Do you have Vibration turned ON directly in both sms application and the calendar?
Or did you only change the phone profile to vibrate?
get a free app called sound manager and goto the virbation menu settings and make sure it is turned on in there. This fixed it for me
Gr8
The sound manager app solved the problem
Thanks guys

Yepp same problem I had, Froyo has fixed this by adding vibration option for SMS/e-mail/etc only in Vibrate mode
Are there any apps that allow what are basically profiles, so when I have volume on I get normal notification sounds.. But when I am on vibrate mode it would vibrate?
Currently it is all or nothing for vibration notifications as far as I know.
Something also nice would be to customize notification sounds and vibrations even further depending on the notification type.
Thanks guys

I'd like this too, it seems like I can't get notification vibrations where I want them. The option should really be built into every app, IMHO.
I updated my Epic to Gingerbread and now I cant get the dang thing to stop vibrating when I get a text! And the vibration is INTENSE! I have the settings to Vibrate: Never and the Notification Ringtone to Silent .. yet every time i get a text message, its like an atomic bomb going off! Help!

Although not an elegant solution to your problem (such as go here and uncheck this), have you ever tried Handcent from the market? Tons of customizations. When I 1st got my epic (about a year now) the thing that drove me crazy was text notifications during a phone call! Someone recommended Handcent, and I've never looked back since then!
If you go that route, after you install, make sure you disable notifications in your stock messaging app - or else you'll get both the stock and Handcent telling you that you have a new message.
Check haptic feedback settings under Display. You can turn down the intensity. I also notice GB's haptics are over-zealous.
As stated by the root, check that, and also check the app's settings as well. The app overrides the built in haptic feedback toggle.

****blushing**** and even embarrassed to reply, but in appreciation to those who have responded ... it was the app notifications that was the culprit. sorry for wasting your time.

Is there a way of turning the notifications sound and/or vibration off on certain apps, like games?
I know that you can turn off the notifications completely by going to the app info, but I still want to get notifications in the drop-down, but not the sound/vibration.
Anyone managed to do this?
Thanks in advance!
Well if the application has the option to change the notification sound then you can use a silent tone for that, not sure about the vibration though.
maybe a file explorer could allow you to silence said applications.
just my two cents.

Some apps don't have this option in them. I was thinking of something like iOS dose it's notifications (don't get me wrong... I don't like iOS.
)?

Does anyone know how to stop the phone from generating a notification sound or vibration every time you open the keyboard.
For example
tap the google box for a quick search
Start writing a message with any app
Basically anything that triggers the keyboard also triggers a notification.
That **** has been killing my battery...
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Settings > Sound & Vibration > System sound/vibration control
Set the vibration and sound to your liking.

Thanks for trying. Went in and turned everything off and it still happens.
The issue is why the hell does me opening the keyboard warrant any kind of notification?

You figured it out? How did you do it? I have the same problem and you didn't explain anything. Plus reply lmao
And you're literally the only one in the internet to address this properly.

Sorry man. It's been such a long time. I don't remember what I did but I think I remember how I did it. I used the notification module from good lock. Nice catch. That told me where to find it. I think. Not 100% sure but that's the best I can do for you.
