I have tried to find this on the forum, but I haven't yet. I hear about the Ringing of Death, but I keep getting a Feedback sound whenever I update to CM9 alpha 5. It doesn't do I right away, but after 2 days, it starts a feedback that during calls while talking, but not during speakerphone calls. I tried reseting and rebooting, but the feedback continues whenever I answer a call. Any suggestions? Oh, it doesn't do it on CleanGB or any other ROM, Only CM9. I LOVE the ROM, but I can't handle the feedback noise... Can anyone help?
First off put an actual question in your thread title so people will see what you are asking. A few people have reported this echo feedback but not many. Try a fresh download and reinstall. If that don't help then try another kernel.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I forgot to add the question to the title. Won't happen again.

Hello, hoping someone can shed some light on this particular problem. I did search, but came back with nothing. For some reason, i dont get any sound from my phone when its charging, such as alarms and new text notifications. This has happened to me with 2 or 3 diffrent roms, that being the reason i didnt post in the rom's thread directly. If you have any ideas, i would appreciate it. THanks in advance

hmm not experiencing that with my current rom, what have you been running, what is your device? have you tried flashing your shipped rom prior to flashing what ever rom?
please post a list of apps that you install after flashing. this will help us in identifying what the cause may be.
Possible application related such as application with auto profiling.
Hello, I'm currently running the latest Black Ice nightly (from 7/16) on my Inspire 4G. I love this ROM but there are a few bugs and annoyances I have. I have searched the forums with no luck, and hope somebody who has had similar problems could help me solve these.
- When I select text (for example, half a sentence) and hit delete, occasionally it will start deleting the letters in front of my selection, but will keep the selection intact (as in, it stays shown as selected but acts as if its not). This is seemingly random and happens maybe once every ten times I make a selection. I can fix this by unselecting then reselecting.
- Sometimes when I plug in my headset to talk to someone, I can hear them through the headset but they cannot hear me through it. I can fix this by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
- GPS takes forever to find location. I have tried a few different GPS settings from within IceTool with no luck. Using GPS Status I can get 7-14 locks, but Google Maps still won't find my location.
- Apps also seem to force close occasionally. I don't know how to use all of the features in IceTool or the other tools that come with the phone, so I don't use them. Perhaps there are settings or tweaks that would make my phone more stable? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Again, great rom! Thanks!
Reboot into recovery, fix permissions.
Nightly releases are experimental.
If you want a stable release you can flash either v1.50 or v1.60
I've never flashed a nightly so I can't help you much with that part.

Fixed permissions, and flashed stable 1.60. I'm still having the same problems. And now sometimes people can't hear me when I talk. I will call someone (or they will call me), I can hear them fine but they cannot hear me. I've tried reflashing a few times. Can anybody help?

I would say flash a stock rooted sense rom to find out if the issue persists. If it doesn't, report back after a full wipe: Format data/Factory reset, wipe dalvik, Format all partitions (except sd card). Download the rom again, flash it after the wipe obviously :silly:, check to see what problems you are having if any. After that we will work something out. I have a few ideas but I would like to find out first if it happens in the stock rom.
Logcat would be good too

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. I won't be able to reflash until Monday, so I will post the results then. What is logcat and how could it help me?

The logcat helps identify a problem. I know Guy doesn't know how to read one, nor do I, however, a dev or someone familiar with logcats would be able to see, if anything shows, where the problem could be.

Hey guys, my galaxy nexus has started acting up. If I make a call to someone I can hear the person talk, but they can not hear me. Now the person I call when they try talking, they just hear there own voice back when they talk. If they said hi, they would hear themselves say hi back. Now the strange part, if I turn my phone to speakerphone everything works fine?!? Can anyone make anything out on what's going on with this? Suggestions? Thank you

What ROM do you use?
I'm using winners00 build of CM10 JB rom. I have been using the same rom for the past three to four weeks roughly. No problems until now

I'd check with the dev of that ROM (or a forum support thread for it) if this problem has been encountered before. If not, I'd try flashing stock factory images for your device to see if the problem persists. If it does, it's likely to be a HW issue.
I am having problems since installing 4.1.1 with my mic during phone calls on my end. I will make calls where I can talk for 2 hours no problem then the next phone call after 2 min the caller on the other end keeps saying im breaking up and then cant hear me all. I can hear them loud and clear as they keep saying hello and asking if im still there. I have to hang up and call them back and that call could go good or at random times I have the same issue again. Has anyone had this issue and if so is there a fix out there? I have tried reflashing the rom with no luck I superwipe each time. Im on Verizon (no verizon jokes lol) thanks for any help anyone has!

This may work, it may not. It worked for me.
Allow your phone to run the update. It will fail. Take your battery out, put it back in. The update may never come back. If it does come back, kennyglass123 created a .zip to fix that issue i believe. search around for it.
