[Q] Creating stock theme for juggernaut 5.0? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I would really like to create a stock, out the box theme for juggernaut 5.0? I always liked the stock look for the s2 and i miss it now.
Would somebody be able to give me a quick rundown of how to make the theme? I have a stock rom to work with for all the files necessary to do it. I am willing to learn
It would be even better if one of the talented themers actually made a theme for the masses though

[Q] Designing My Own Rosie! Looking For Tutorial

How's it going everyone?
I'm looking for any sort of tutorial as to looking into a rom's com.htc.resources.apk file and modifying files to theme a rosie of my own style. I know there is a lot on this forum about finding custom rosies and remapping, etc. but as a graphic designer, I like everything slick, and the rosies I have to use with the different roms I flip around from (Myn, Virus, other sense based) are nice but I've developed my own and got it looking good on Launcher Pro, but I like my sense widgets and would prefer to just modify the stock sense rosie to my own. Myn has recently been able to create a rather similar look to what I created, and so I'm gonna work with his RLS 3 Rom if that makes any sort of difference.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks to all the devs btw, your Roms are the best and I wish I had your talents.

APKTool works well but it still can't do all of the framework apks yet. It should decode everything well enough for you to get in there and see what all needs changing though.

his thread here on xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=640592&page=80
If you are just starting off by changing images you don't need any special programs aside form an image editor. What I would then suggest is to download a few themes, open up the framework-res.apk and com.htc.resource.apk from each, and compare the images between them to get an idea of what images you should be concerned with first. Typically, if you open up these files from themes and you sort by "Date Modified" it will be very easy to tell which are the original and which are modified because 80+% will have one date and everything else will be newer.
If an once you deceide to move beyond simply changing images I highly recommend APK Manager which was developed by someone here on XDA. It is a collection of other tools and scripts developed by other XDA members that will decompile APK files so that the XML files are readable/editable and once finished will recompile it.
That's a great idea. Yeah I have PhotoShop and Illustrator, I just want sure which images I should play with and which ones not to. That "last modified" option should help.
Thanks for your input. If anyone else knows of other ways or tips, please feel free to share.

[Theme Request] AOSP for EL26

I see a lot of ICS themes and they are awesome man. But I do miss the ole AOSP GB look and feel. I have tried my best to make my own but honestly I don't have the time I wish I did to dedicate to it right now. If anyone feels up to it and wants to make one that would work with the latest ROMs I would be ever grateful.
Pretty much what I would like to see is a Vanilla GB style Theme. But anything AOSPish would be awesome. Thanks in advance to anyone that considers this.
Download latest blazer and instal gb launcher or go flash cm7 from the other site everything but GPS works

Appreciate the suggestions. I'm not ready to sacrifice functionality for true AOSP yet on this phone. I have the aosp launcher running on Calks and have modded most of the apks to have the aosp icons. What I'm looking for is like a aosp dialer and true aosp mms.apks and such. Once CM9 is released I will go towards true aosp roms. But not until. I did the whole aosp flashfest on my GS1 and not ready to do that yet. Plus the CM7 build you speak of wiped my SD card twice soso it still has some little bugs.
thought
have you tried the "clean" overlay from sprint ID?
Try this rom out. Looks like its picking up with some.

Yeah I was hoping that ROM would get updated and it did. I was so Happy to see it. Running it right now with a few personal Mods and loving it. Also I have never messed with sprint ID so not sure what that is. I will have to look into it.

[Q] Looking to upgrade, but only if the right ROM can sweeten the deal...

Hey guys, sorry to noob it up.
I'm currently on an OG Epic running toadlife's final build of CleanGB. I'm due for an upgrade, and I'm considering the S3. It's been a while since I've tinkered with my phone because it runs so well, and I enjoy Toad's approach as it aligns well with how I think my phone should look and function. My ideal feature set is:
- Touchwiz JB based, because it's already optimized for the hardware. In my limited experience, ROMs based on the manufacturer source seem to have longer battery life, better stability, and a full feature set that already works. Things like:
- Stock camera (yes, with the silent mod)
- Sprint VVM
- Hotspot
- Customizable toggles.
-Minimal or no theming. Theming seems to be the quickest way to make the phone feel tacky and fragmented. I love the look of stock AOSP ICS and JB, the same way I enjoy a minimalist Gingerbread. Things like the AOSP dialer, SMS, lockscreen, keyboard, and icons seem to pull it together and make it look excellent.
- Blacked out or inverted apps like AOSP SMS, Gmail, Youtube, etc... looks cool, doesn't require any crazy theming, and saves some juice on that screen.
I was bummed to find out that the Foxhound ROM is only built for the international version, as I think it fits the bill of what I'd be looking for. Can anyone recommend a ROM based on these criteria? And yes, I know I don't have much to contribute as an end-user. I still think this community's a great place to hang out and get the most use out of these phones. Thanks guys.
I like blazer Rom

Can't go wrong with either freeza's fre3 or clark44's FreeGS3 ROM.
From what I have seen what you want does not exist. The closest is either run CM10.1 (pretty stable feels like a daily rom until you find a bug) or run one of the stock based roms with ICS theme but it doesnt feel very complete IMO.
I have been looking for the same thing you are. I even found the foxhound rom today but like you said its not on US versions.

Your coming from the OG epic... So why not try The Peoples Rom.. Several launcher choices (Aroma installer) overall can have it how you want it. There is also a full out Edition.. (The Fat Ass Cartmen edition By Naddict) Either i recommend.. Specially if your familiar with Kennyglass123's OG epic work. Same great taste, Less Filling! Best thing you can do, is cruise through the threads see if something gets your attention. And custimization on those roms above.. Visit Morphology Thread by Romnpit.

[Q] Theming

I have a question about thems. I am not a developer. I don't know anything about themes, I do understand that it does take time and hard work to do. So my question is....Why doesn't anyone theme anymore? I have a Captivate I897, every one used to theme on almost every rom. I have a SGS3 very little to no themes. I see so far the same is true for Nexus 7(2013). Is it that it is to much work or the developers just don't want to do it. I do like themes that are build into a rom. I not only pick a rom to flash but what it does and does not have but also on how it looks.
i am kind of a themer and it is not hard you just need to be good with photoshop and plugins but it takes a hell lot of time people are getting lazy and about S3 yeah just 1 theme for the whole 4.2.2 sad to see as for the new nexus well its a new device give it some time and themeing section will become decent but built into Rom idk about that developers are not themers they can't have all that time on themeing as they need to work on the dev part of the Rom more
