Low Memory on Runnymede_AIO_V6.0.4.1_Special_Edition - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay - i bet since my question is too easy to solve i will get facepalmed soon
So what am i using:
HTC DESIRE SLCD / S-OFF / Rooted / 32gb class 10 SD card (Samsung)
4EXT touch Recovery
Runnymede_AIO_V6.0.4.1_Special_Edition + ad2sdx-1.0-RC01
Whats my Problem:
Low internal memory even if there are 1,2 gb of free space ( apps start crashing / default browser wont open due to lack of internal memory... everything else works perfect)
The Problem doesnt appear instantly after flashing and installing.
So what i did:
1. looked in the FAQ from Runnymede Thread and used a cache cleaner
2. installing the ROM few more times
But it didn't help - thats why i am here
I guess i am making a mistake while installing the Rom
www10.pic-upload.de/03.03.12/wve62nma9g9z.jpg
(cant post img or links because i am new here - tell me if it doesnt work)
because i cant select this option - i guess thats where I go wrong?
maybe its the wrong ROM I downloaded?
I cant help myself somehow.. thats why i am here
(i spent about 1 week trying everything that comes to my mind but it didnt help)
Thx 4 all work you have done and your support!
if this works out i am going to donate 10€

What is your hboot ? I guess it is stock hboot.
It should be at least CM7r2 in order ad2sdx to work properly as it needs a bigger data partition sise to mount as sd-ext. Your actual sd-ext will be mounted as data partition.
I can't open www10.pic-upload.de/03.03.12/wve62nma9g9z.jpg to see what it is.

Yeah i have HBOOT 0.93.0001
okay gonna try fix that and then report my result

im having the same problem with my installation
i have the hboot from alpharev
the info is as follows
bravo pvt1 ship s-off
hboot- 0.93.0001
micicrop-031d
touch panel-synt0101
radio-5.17.05.23
aug 10 2010 17:52:18
and i have the same exact issue, i set my ext4 to abt 1.6gb and i cant get access to it at all

Alpharev made several HBOOTs, if you want to use AD2SDX make sure you flashed Bravo CM7 r2, you'll find it on their homepage.
I guess you guys both are currently using Bravo Stock HBOOT.
You can find out which HBOOT you are using (just to make sure) go into fastboot mode and look for the text in the pink box above the "BRAVO PVT xyz..."

Ok here we go again
I flashed Bravo CM7 r2 from alpharev.nl yesterday et voila - i had the ad2sdx option in the aroma installer.
(I had a screenshot on the the link nobody can see where it was missing)
Now the phone is working about 12 hours without any memory problems - of course it needed some time to settle down in the beginning, but that was mentioned in the runnymede threads before.
But i am still asking myself if i did too much now because...
I flashed Runnymede V6.0.4.1 with ad2sdx
Afterwards I immediately flashed ad2sdx-1.0-RC01 (amarullz)
Then i went for the Sense 3.5 Kernel from Droidzone
I bet i just needed to flash Runnymede since it comes with its own kernel (?) and has build-in ad2sdx?
Thx guys
Btw. kevearc how are you doin?

ad2sdx: You flashed the same thing twice, if you ckeck ad2sdx in the AROMA Installer, it will already be flashed automatically.
Kernel: The ROM comes with a build in Kernel by Droidzone, but you can flash newer ones.

Ahh btw.
I am looking for the sticky notes widget from stock ROM from android 2.2.
Just the one where you can draw/write and delete.
I dont need any memo or synchronisation and stuff.
So i looked " htc desire stock rom zip " to get the apk
or for " htc desire sticky notes " but didnt get what i was looking for.
I also tried to start the RUU installer and get the ROM.zip out of my temp folder but i didnt find it ( either in normal temp or windows\temp ).
Any idea? or is there a secret database hidden ?

Look at my signature..!

ok i guess, could u guide me as to how to perform the same procudere on my phone as u did yours?
i think my problem is that i didnt flash the Bravo cm7 thingy, lol
at the top of my bootloader screen, mine just says Alpharev in purple text

@kevearc: That means you are using Alpharev Stock HBOOT, go to their site and flash CM7r2. Instructions are given there.
@veljin: The easiest was to find the folder is to run ruu, open task manager, right-click adb.exe and select "open path" or something like that.
If you want to save time, just download the old Widget here

ok, i downloaded the file, so do i flash this first, then reflash teh runnymeade os?
'or is there somthing else i need to do?

@WoH - thx :3
@kevearc
( only works with S-OFF !)
1. Download the Zip from Alpharev called PB99IMG_cm7r2.zip
2. Rename it to PB99IMG.zip
3. Put it on your SD Card
4. Start Bootloader with Power + Vol down
5. messages comes with " do you want to flash this blabla " -> go for it
6. delete File
7. Check if everything worked in the Bootloader Menu
8. Better reflash your ROM (maybe it works without that but i wont guarantee)

When you have CID error, you cannot update with sdcard procedure.
You need to flash it in fastboot mode or the easier way is search for Fastboot Commander and use this to flash the hboot.

Maybe you could try to reinstall adb driver...

[Q] [ROM][19/04][Sense2.1 GingerBread]InsertCoin CM7/A2SD+ v03 |Cam working

Hi,
Does anyone has a disk space issue with this ROM: InsertCoin_GB_Sense2.1_CM7_v03.zip?
Configuration: CM7 and alpha HBOOT
Thanks
Are you using a costom h-boot?
+ the right partitions - ext3?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
More informations:
---Alpha rev---
BRAVO PTV1 S-OFF
HBOOT 0.93.0001
Radio 5.11.05.27
recovery 2.5.1.8 (blue) from AlphaRev. But when I flash the zip, the recovery was the 3.0.0.5 (orange).
I try also w the 2.5.1.8, till have the same issue...
you have conversion tools 2nd page or with cwm 3.0.0.5 just wipe user data the recovery will reformat your partition to EXT3
so I guess it's now EXT3...
Hmmm i dont think you have the cm7 h-boot, you are only s-off with alpharev... go to alpharevs site and download the pb.img witg cm7 and change it (read the tut on the side) copy to sd and go on fast boot and say yes and yes for upgrading.
Here you gohttp://alpharev.nl/:
You can also download the corresponding PB99IMG zipfile, put it on your sdcard, and rename it to PB99IMG.zip. Then start the phone in HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER) to flash the HBOOT without a PC. It is however still necessary to either restore your nandroid, or reflash your ROM after doing this. The partition LAYOUT has changed, the actual data still needs to be 'moved'.

Thanks for the help
But, I already done that and I think it's ok because when I did a backup I have:
system: 123.52M
sd-ext:235.75M
data:137.34M
so it's ok no?
But the disk space avalable is 23Mo, when I install new apps, I have the warning of disk space
Its not ok, my friend had the seme problem as you, and he had stock h-boot...
On h-boot
It must say:
Alpharev CM7
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
ok thanks.
I try again and w the zip file I have a CID error
I had a look on the forum and try the fastboot method.
I will keep you updated
OK, if you are not so experienced you can try this to push the h-boot on:

Ive had the same problems... might give a few of your suggestions a try and see if it works
thanks for your help, I'm currently reading this article
now I have the hboot CM7.
full wipe and install of the rom. So wait and see
Thanks again for your help.
It must be all ok now...
Thanks a lot. It's working. Available memory >180mo

follow these instructions:
- step 0:
- device has to be S-OFF
- step 1:
Here you go http://alpharev.nl/
You can also download the corresponding PB99IMG zipfile, put it on your sdcard, and rename it to PB99IMG.zip. Then start the phone in HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER) to flash the HBOOT without a PC. It is however still necessary to either restore your nandroid, or reflash your ROM after doing this. The partition LAYOUT has changed, the actual data still needs to be 'moved'.
If you have a CID error message in HBOOT mode. Go to step2...
- step 2:
- donwload the bravo_alphaspl-cm7.img file.
- install FastbootCommanderV.1.1.zip. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823315
You need java (cf java web site).
For W7, I had to modify the windows path variable in the windows advance seatings to add the java path (C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin). I also add admin privilege on java.exe, javaw.exe
- Create a IMGFiles directory and put inside the bravo_alphaspl-cm7.img file.
- reboot your phone in HBOOT
- plug to PC w USB
- run the FastbootCommanderV.1.1.jar
- click on HBOOT/spl button and select the bravo_alphaspl-cm7.img file
- click on recovery button and select the recovery-bravo-3.0.0.5-r3.img file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=839640
- click on flash spl
- click on flash recovery
On MISC tab, you can reboot your phone in HBOOT and check that you have the new HBOOT CM7
- last step:
- enter in recovery
- wipe full
- go to select zip and pick your ROM
It takes a while for the first boot.
Hope it helps. If you need more details, ask
How come :
I've downloaded rom and setup gmail etc..
It automaticly downloads my apps ? Where can I choose wich apps and wich dont ?
Hi,
From my experiences...:
If you used a gingerbread before, it will be done automatically.
The market will reinstall the app you downloaded....
If it's the first time you are using gingerbread, you have to pick your apps in the market.
with this ROM, you can move all apps to the SD .
Can be done in app settings.
Hope it help.

[Q] Where to start?

Hi,
I just bought a Desire today.
its
S-OFF
rooted
running leedroid v2.3d
thats all I know.
Im downloading the InsertCoin Sense 2.1 1.0.8 CM7 Rom right now.
How do I get things right without messing up my phone?
pls someone guide me how to install this rom propely and what's the required files etc2
Im really confused right now.
read a bunch of stuff here and couldnt find an answer
hopefully someone would help me out
thanks!
edit:what's the MD5sum for?
it says as a requirement on the insercoin thread that its either a
A2SD CM7 HBOOT - cm7 hboot from alpharev.nl - the one with 130 mB for /system
- 1 gB ext2/3/4 partition
A2SD+ STOCK HBOOT - stock hboot - the one with 250 mB for /system
- 1 gB ext2/3/4 partition
Click to collapse
which one should I use/download?
the ROM that I downloaded has a md5sum of MD5: b7e9f7e7dc60b79874920dfcde50ac76
please please anyone?
MD5 sum is to chceck if your download was uncorrupted. MD5 of downloaded file must be identical to the one provided in ROM thread ALWAYS CHECK MD5 SUMS, if you flash for example corrupted hboot or radio it WILL brick your device
now, what you must do, since you are already rooted and S-OFFed:
1) make sure you have 1GB ext3/4 partition on your SD card, AFTER FAT32
if it is there, you are OK, if not use Gparted (bootable CD) to make one, mount SDcard in recovery and partition your SD
2) since you downloaded CM7 hboot version of insertCoin go to alpharev.nl and download CM7r2 PB99IMG then put it to the root of your SDcard and boot phone into bootloader (vol down+power) then wait until it finds the file and accept the flashing of new hboot >> this will change partition layout. [2nd method possible but you would have to have ADB @ pc correctly set up, which i doubt you have, so do it PB99IMG way CHECK MD5)
3) boot into recovery, wipe all, wipe dalvik and choose to flash downloaded insertcoin.zip
once it ends reboot, and after 15min it should boot up android, if not pull the battery cause smth didnt work out.
what could have gone wrong:
-your sd-ext wasnt done properly (double check or re-do)
-your recovery was outdated (report back here, i will help you updating it)
thanks for the response!
how do i check for the md5 of my downloaded file?
I have a clockworkmod v2.5.0.7
im downloading gparted now and will the files on to a disc after.
or can I use any partition master apps?like minitool or easeus partition?
please guide me how to partition it properly
its a 16gb kingston class 6
and how do i update my recovery just do be sure
edit: sorry for these noobie questions. I was really shocked how hard it is compared to flashing hd2s and defys
and yeah I have adb installed on my pc with the required files in it. the thing is I never used it. not even once sorry :0
anyway will try repartitioning my sd card now
you can check MD5 with program called HashTAB: once you install it, right click on file, choose properties and choose file hashes panel.
updating your recovery: find topic here on desire forums for clockwork mod 4.0.0.5 - if you download a .zip file you can use a fake-flash method which means booting into CWM 2.5.0.7 then choosing to flash CWM4.0.0.5.zip and this will launch new CWM, however you must do it every time you go into recovery.
if you want a permanent install of CWM 4.0.0.5 download its .img file, check MD5, put it into your androidSDK folder, put your phone into fastboot mode (back+power) and in windows command prompt (cmd) type:
cd X:/ANDROIDSDKLOCATION/tools [navigate to your SDK installation folder]
fastboot devices [this should give a serial number]
fastboot flash recovery FILENAME.img [.img file must be inside /tools folder]
and it will flash it permanently
you can find a video tutorial on how to partition SD in Desire Android Development sticky thread, its one of the first 3 or 4 threads, videos for noobs, all is there
also in thread tagged [TUT] you can find video on how to use ADB
I just partitioned my sd properly w/ gparted
downloaded the Desire_recovery-clockwork-4.0.0.5-j_r0dd_mod.zip
what do you recomend?fake flash or flash it permanently?
and could you please clarify this
2) since you downloaded CM7 hboot version of insertCoin go to alpharev.nl and download CM7r2 PB99IMG then put it to the root of your SDcard and boot phone into bootloader (vol down+power) then wait until it finds the file and accept the flashing of new hboot >> this will change partition layout. [2nd method possible but you would have to have ADB @ pc correctly set up, which i doubt you have, so do it PB99IMG way CHECK MD5)

I downloaded the PB99IMG_cm7r2.zip, what should I place on the root of my SD card?the zip file or the .IMG file?then once I press vol+power I just wait then accept then it will install it?
then after that I just copy the nandroid backup onto my SD card and flash?
one more thing.
what's the best or recommended radio?
note:I cant connect to any data connection.either using 2g/wcdma,wdcma only or 2g only.
I dont know if it's the rom or what.hope its not a hardware issue though
My reception is always full by the way
note:here's what I did. placed the PB99IMG.zip on the sd then turned the device off then pressed vol down + power, a prompt asked for a update.I said yes then asked me to reboot. I answered no then went to clockwork recovery then flashed the insercoin rom after wiping cache and dalvik and factory data reset.rebooted the device and now im waiting for my phone to completely boot.
hope I made everything right
you gotta read more carefully dude
as i said, if you downloaded CWM.ZIP (ZIP FILE) FAKE-FLASH is the ONLY thing you can do with it. if you would have .IMG FILE permanent flasing from fastboot would be the only possibility. SOZ BOUT THAT !!! i just looked at this files, it is not flashable ZIP, this is an .img file packed into a .zip (LOL) unpack it, check MD5 Sum provided inside the .zip file and flash it using fastboot !!!
also some instructions taken from alpharev.nl (they are just under the table with hboots): You can also download the corresponding PB99IMG zipfile, put it on your sdcard, and rename it to PB99IMG.zip. Then start the phone in HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER) to flash the HBOOT without a PC. It is however still necessary to either restore your nandroid, or reflash your ROM after doing this. The partition LAYOUT has changed, the actual data still needs to be 'moved'.
so rename the cm7r2.zip you have to PB99IMG.zip and put it on your SD (not in any folders) then go to bootloader with VolDown+Power, wait around 10 seconds and confirm flashing new HBOOT
after doing this, you cannot simply restore a NANDROID (if a ROM was made for stock hboot, it will not work on CM7 hboot this should be kinda obvious) you must flash a ROM designed form CM7 hboot so, for example InsertCoin CM7 (it is because on stock hboot system files are 250MB, and then on CM7 you have only 145mb, so restoring a NANDROID that had 250MB/system wont work, wont fit, wont boot)
i suggest you read full info available on www.alpharev.nl
best radio ? well i am an up-to-date geek so i always use the newest though you should be fine with any. if you encounter any problems though (with reception or wifi etc) you should consider upgrading your RADIO. however if you will change your HBOOT to CM7 (which is also treated as data++ by alpharev AND Ultimate Online Kitchen cause of the /cache size) you will be able to flash new radio ONLY from fastboot (it is also said on alpharev.nl :If you downloaded Bravo Data++, please notice the /cache partition is too small to hold Radio flashes from recovery. You can however flash the radio just fine with 'fastboot flash radio radio.img'. Just extract the radio.img from the radio update.zip beforehand.)
about data connection.
go into settings > wireless > acces points (you gotta find it, i dunno how are these named in other laungauges) and set up your APN correctly (you should find correct settings for your mobile provider on thier website, or just google it)
closing remarks:
remember that if ANYONE was helpful to you, hit the 'thanks' button if you got any more questions, i am more than happy to help
thanks a lot bro!
Im now running on insertcoin w/o any probs.
many many thanks for your help.
PS:gave you a couple of thanks

Help Flashing RUU - Error 170

Hi,
Wonder if anyone can give me some tips. I'm trying to put my HTC Desire back to stock via the RUU, but can't seem to establish a connection with the phone and its current ROM.
Currently:
AlphaRev
Bravo PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.17-05.23

ROM: Cyanogen 7
Android Ver: 2.3.7
BB: 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
Mod Ver: CyanogenMod-7.1.0-Desire
I've tried the following:
Installing HTC Sync, Removing just HTC Sync, Trying to connect phone to both Windows 8 and Windows 7 environments and running RUU. Result was Error 170
Installing PdaNet, Installing HTC Drivers from there, generated an error code in Windows 8. Ran on Windows 7 VM, but RUU still errored with Error 170
Installing Android SDK and Google USB Drivers, running RUU and still getting error 170
Tried running it with the phone in debug mode, but get an "Android Device?" in Device Manager that i can't get to work.
Have tried using unrevoked drivers, and RUU still errors with Error 170.
Have tried with 2 different cables, 1 of which works fine with another phone.
Does anyone have any other tips to return my phone to stock?

Thy the PB99IMG.zip method.
Download the latest RUU (the 2.3 one).
Run it as administrator.
Tick the 'I understand the caution indicated above...' box, and click next.
At this point do not go any further.
Navigate to C:\Users\"Your Name"\AppData\Local\Temp (AppData is a hidden folder)
You should see one or two folders like this:

Go into the one with dotnetinstaller.exe in it.
Open up the next folder.
Copy rom.zip into another folder (outside of temp).
At this point just Cancel and quit out of the ROM Update Utility.\
Rename rom.zip to PB99IMG.zip and place it on the root of your sd-card.
Boot in Hboot.
Select Yes.

I got as far as booting in HBOOT and it said (after fully loading) "Error: Main is older".
I'm running "R2 ZM4.5" Redux.
I want to install the stock rom so that I can upgrade the HBOOT, so that I can S-OFF, so that I can somehow eventually repartition. (It's getting pretty confusing in my head about now).
Any advice for me?

I think I've found the problem....my phone has PG58 instead of PG99...after I've renamed it, it works. Thanks a lot for your kind reply. Appreciate it. Now that I've already formatted my custom ROM with this stock ROM, my device does not have recovery any more, is that right? (eg. 4EXT and etc). Can you please tell me how to get those back, just in case I wanna return to using Custom Rom?

Wait wait wait wait.
If you have a Sensation, do not use the zips above!!
Use a Sensation RUU, and, instead of renaming the zip PB99IMG.zip, rename it PG58IMG.zip.

ya...i just needed a guide...the RUU is Sensation one. I downloaded it from other site...thx for the help, fellow!
abaaaabbbb63 said:
Thy the PB99IMG.zip method.
Download the latest RUU (the 2.3 one).
Run it as administrator.
Tick the 'I understand the caution indicated above...' box, and click next.
At this point do not go any further.
Navigate to C:\Users\"Your Name"\AppData\Local\Temp (AppData is a hidden folder)
You should see one or two folders like this:
{719CE201-7B12-4A13-9AF6-8F359FE69C7B}
Select Yes.
?????
Profit!!

I have the Desire S and using Windows 8 trying to flash the 4.0 RUU from HTCDev but it keeps failing at "Waiting for Bootloader........." and then gives me the error 170/171 USB Connection error. My laptop, when the phone goes to the HTC Logo with black screen, says USB Device not recognized! What do I do? I have scoured the net and xda for answers, all of which don't work I don't have a microSD card either

Can you please tell me how you did this? I need to get my phone back to factory image, boot loader is unlocked and rooted.
i) Could you please tell me where do you download the custom ROM file?
ii) How to put phone in Hboot mode?
guys im updating my htc desire 816 4.4.2 to 5 i didnt receive any update so i jst downloaded the rom from htc .com .. the file is something like "RUU SENSE 6" . that is rom of lolipop but it always shows the usb cable error ie error 171.... so please help me to update my rom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worked for me!
For HTC ONE M8:
Download the file: RUU_M8_UL_M60_SENSE70_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_6.20.502.5_combined.exe and run it.
Wait for extraction.
Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\.
Find the files: "rom_01" and "rom_2".
(I've found them on: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\{1BF9D767-EBE5-4470-A938-3C36AE93DF54}\{50F2F878-636A-496F-A7CB-544C067E0C4B}).
Copy the bigger file ("rom_2") to SDCARD.
Rename It to: 0P6BDIAG.zip (caution to double zip extension - 0P6BDIAG.zip.zip).
Continue the steps above.

[Q] HTC Desire (Stock 2.2 Froyo) + put a custom rom on it

Hi,
I have an old HTC Desire and the memory is running low (Facebook app is getting too big ).
It's still running on 2.2 Froyo (stock) but I needed a gold card years ago (somehow I don't know why anymore, maybe because it was sim-locked) to install Froyo on it.
I know my Desire isn't rooted and all... haven't been following Android versions and I was wondering if I can put on some of the latest version on a Desire (Jelly bean, 4.2?) somehow.
I know years ago it was hard to root/put a custom rom on it. Now a days I read there are much easier methods. Can someone put me in the good direction?
Thanks!
Here are my spec's I collected on the phone:

This is what i would recommend. S-off and install a custom recovery using revolutionary, flash a 4.2 rom of your choice.
First download htc sync, then uninstall it so that it leaves only the necessary drivers behind. Then install these fastboot drivers. Also make sure that usb debugging is enabled on your phone. Then download a rom that you want to install from here and copy it to your sd card. Also if the rom doesnt come with gapps, make sure that you download and copy those as well.
Next download revolutionary from here and also fill out the information so that you can get the beta key. Plug your phone in, unzip the file and then run revolutionary.exe. Continue through all the steps and say yes to installing the recovery.
Now boot into hboot (turn phone off, then turn back on using volume down and power) and it should say s-off. From hboot select RECOVERY and it should open your newly installed clockworkmod recovery. Select wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache. After that go to install zip from sdcard, choose the rom that you downloaded earlier and flash it. Do the same for the gapps. Then reboot and profit.

Thanks! I got some questions:
1) Will I need a goldcard? I made one years ago but don't know how to check if it is already goldcarded?
2) Which hboot should I choose when I want to get the beta key of revolutianary?
3) Also what serial number? That of my phone?
4) What do you mean by "Also check if the rom doesnt come with gapps"? Is the google play/store not a standard in the custom roms?
I'm going to follow the steps above I hope I can accomplish this withouth problems

Make a goldcard. (I never did and had no problems, but if you are getting CID errors with revolutionary make one)
Use the hboot version that you have on your phone. You said above that its the 0.93 version, so use that.
Roms usually don't come with the google apps (including the play store) because of copyright issues. You will need to flash the google apps package.
Nevermind
Also how do I get root? Or is this already done before I install a custom rom?
I installed this rom (cyanomod). I still having issues with internal memory. Any ideas? I didn't quite understand the wizard options for A2Ext+: where you needed to choose Data, Dalvic cache or both.

Custom ROMs come with root most of the time.
You need to partition your SD card. Look in the desire general section for the guide, probably on the first page.

Ok it worked. I found out using 4EXT. But then I wanted to restart. It is taking ages (I have a Transcend 8 GB micro sd class 6). It just keeps on the cyanomod loading screen.
EDIT: removed the sd card, now i had to go throught the install wizard for setting my phone.
EDIT 2: have mounted the sd card again, but can't install any app (not enough memory). When I look at the amount of memory I have i see 0.98 GB free
EDIT3: Reinstalled the rom. all works now.

[Q] Can't Root HTC Desire

Im stuck on rooting..
First when i try to install the HBOOT drivers it installs them as "HTC Serial Interface (COM4)" after the Android 1.0 thing (windows automaticly installs them and cannot abort that, and if i want to update it with the custom ones it says the current drivers are up-to-date.
So i dont have the "Android Bootloader Interface" option at the device manager.
Got the HTC Driver and HTC BMP USB drivers installed and removed HTC Sync.
Second, whatever Revoked version (i used 3.21-3.32, it keeps hanging on "waiting for Bootloader, make sure drivers are installed"
I've been repeating the process like 100x each step and still.

I have used various methods from different forums none seem to work and i'm really clueless.
I've flashed Samsungs, Sony's, even MTK's flawlessly and this particular HTC device is a pain in the ass.
Ive used XDA guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275632
and: http://theunlockr.com/2010/09/20/how-to-root-the-htc-desire-unrevoked-method/
and: http://androidforums.com/desire-all...ked-windows-updated-11th-november-2011-a.html
and: http://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/503471-desire-all-things-root-guide.html
Is there anyone with a sollution because i really need more app space (or a bloatware free rom) and based on various comment on the sites mention didn't work as well as it should.
You'll want to gain s-off first before rooting. To do this you can use revolutionary.
First I'd suggest removing any drivers (and HTC sync) that you have already installed. Then setup adb/fastboot as it may be useful later. Finally install these fastboot drivers. Now to test if its being detected put the phone into the bootloader (turn off, then boot up using volume down + power). Next plug the phone into the computer via usb and open up a command prompt window. Run "fastboot devices" and the phones serial number should be shown. Let me know once you've done this.

Thanks i will try that and report back.
It would've been nice if any of those tutorials mentioned S-OFF needed before hand!
Edit: okay the phone is S-OFF, i will now proceed with the ADB thing but its downloading the SDK files as we speak...
@Chromium
Okay ive installed the adb files and set it all up. But i'm stuck on "fastboot devices" on the cmd command line saying it cannot find "fastboot devices"
If i run C:/adb fastboot devices i get a bunch of commands while the phone was booted into HBOOT (S-OFF ofc)
Also tried C:\adb\platform-tools>fastboot devices but nothing is shown
For some strange reason my device manager says SAMSUNG ANDROID PHONE > Android Bootloader Interface when i hit "Bootloader" in HBOOT (was testing this)
Ignoring the adb step: I rerun every step again but it's still stuck on "waiting for Bootloader, make sure drivers are installed" after running Unrevoked3

Revolutionary S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
Edit: question; I installed Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 through revolutionary after the S-OFF process (which is weird since installing a custom recovery needs root access).
Is it possible to install 'custom rooted roms' through "update from sdcard", without root access?
I ask before hand because i dont want to brick my phone..
I have done a backup in CWM, so i'm going to try and flash a rom...
Ok i succesfully flashed my htc with CM7.2 without rooting my htc in the first place.
I've been struggling with the rooting process for 2 days, but as i mentioned in my previous post i just flashed through revolutionarys CWM.
thank god!
(Even though your best ROM thread was closed, I did mention s-off and revolutionary and the guides...the ones you found are old)
You don't technically need root access to install custom recovery as you have found out.
You are already s-off, that's the hardest bit, rest is easy.
To root your existing ROM if you need to, flash superuser thru recovery
Don't know why fastboot devices didn't show, driver issue somewhere or not set up correctly.
Anyway if you can boot into the os, install 4ext recovery via app from 4ext,net.
Backup your sd card and use 4ext to partition your sdcard.
Then yes you can install a stock rooted ROM or any custom ROM of your choice, check for individual a2sd features or requirements

I know and i've seen the link, but i started with the ROOT part from that website as i thought the S-OFF part came after the rooting process.
I just installed CM7.2 and everything worked fine.
I partitioned the SD card in the CWM menu but i didn't knew what size to pick so i went with 1024mb and 256mb cache.
Im glad cm works and my app space is 151mb however on first boot there was 148mn available and now after a reboot & googleplay store only 56mb is left????
Well atleast i can move apps to SD (i guess)
edit: I flashed Beanstalk 4.4 (release 4.5) with jmcclue's 250/5/182 hboot & 4EXT Recovery. Everything works perfect.

You've rushed into it without following instructions or understanding how things work................
- You shouldn't partition with cwm as it often makes badly aligned partitions (they don't work)
- You don't need to partition with cache as the ROM needs to be programmed use it, and has limited benefit anyway
- You're not actually using your partition if you don't flash an a2sd script or use an app to actually move things to the partition of the sdcard. Your 'move to sd' is moving part of the app to the original fat32 part of your sdcard, exactly the same as before you even rooted/s-off i.e no gain...
- You should have flashed a different hboot before you flashed the ROM as you're wasting space on /system, which is also why your seeing low memory already. Again you have exactly the same amount of internal space as before you rooted/s-off....
So....
- please flash 4ext recovery as instructed
- completely backup and re-partition your sdcard from scratch with that recovery, no swap or cache
- learn to flash cm7r2 hboot with fastboot, instructions in the earlier guide you found
- full wipe and reinstall cm7 ROM again
- flash a2sd script or use an app such as s2e to move future apps to your sd partition (sd-ext)
- Keep apps on internal to trick them to sd-ext, your memory won't necessarily appear expanded, but your partition is working
- install an app like DiskUsage to understand how all your memory is being used in the first place...
Seems a lot but you should have read and done this in the first place you can do it correctly now or run into trouble later when you have no idea why...
EDIT: only saw your edit after my initial reply.
Some of my points still stand...please at least understand how your memory is being used (DiskUsage)
