[Q] Rooting Help

I dont know it seems really difficult to root this phone. Is there any one click root option ? Is there any easy instructions that does not need me to use command line ?
I am good with following instructions but this phone seems like a hard nuts to crack and i am really not happy with the stock rom on the phone
Any guidance or advice will be really helpful

Not to sure about a one click root but the directins by eugene are great and easy to folo.

hi i am newbe and i want to know what are the resins to root and if i don't root is there a way to get 4.04 on a non rooted VZ GN

When you root, you modify the files of the phone to give you special permissions that were once locked. You can install ROMs that look different, or increase battery or run faster or have features you like. The possibilities are endless. You also are first to get leaked updates.
Yes you can flash 4.0.4 on a stock unrooted Galaxy Nexus but the bootloader must be unlocked. This easy and can be done with either Mskip's toolkit or Wugfresh's take your pick they are both easy and good.

I suggest not rooting or unlocking your bootloader until you have hung around long enough to learn why you would need to. Use your phone a while and get familiar with it first.
Rooting: mod the phone to give an app superuser privileges if it requests it. Certain functionality can only be utilized by apps running as root. Whether or not you need that is something you should discover on your own. Treat it very carefully as giving a malicious app root is deadly.
Unlock boot loader: open up the ability to install custom roms.
You should probably hang around a bit and learn before doing either.
I personally have yet to see a need to do either on ICS, but that's only my opinion.

Rooting A100 for dummies, anyone?

I'm trying to root my a100 and im not really comfortable rooting this. I seen many threads about rooting it but i know very little about adb can someone help please?

If you're not comfortable rooting it using the methods provided here, why do you need root?

If you are not comfortable doing it, don't do it. Make sure you read a lot before making any of those modifications to your device. If you still want to, then follow the instructions carefully in whichever thread suits you.

Most likely you are running HC though .

562 seems like downgrading. Version find seems to brick my phone. Can start, black screen

Use the toolkit. Its hands down the easiest way and the method I had followed the first time myself. I am a Maguro owner myself! :good::good:

what are you talking about? it is awesome because you can always cry for help when you have no idea what happened to your phone.

If yu are a complete newbie, I suggest a Toolkit. I was and am a Linux user, so using command line is not a problem. But 1st time success helps you gather the courage to further dig into stuff!
So don't get me wrong when I suggested the toolkit.

easy guys, not wrong to begin with toolkit stuff. time will let him learn...
