There is no need to delete or rename anything. You can copy multiple fonts, and even leave Rosemary font installed.

This solution is given already by me long time ago

no fonts are available for wave 5750 even via samsung apps for bada 2.0
When using "More Fonts" option, it does not find any fonts. The only fonts that work on the phone are 2 other fonts I found while browsing the phone using Stune. ONe is "BadaGothicBrowser" and the other "Input_Dial".
I have tried changing names, font names (Via Hex) but no other founts other than these 3 fonts present within the firmware works.
Does anyone know what is being checked which is causing other fonts not to work?
Thanks in advance.

You must edit CSC file to add new fonts to Wave575.
CSC_SXXXX_Open_Europe_Common_XXX\CSCrcs\SystemCSC\Font
Add to this folder new fonts and flash phone.
PS. I don't know does WaveRemaker support Wave 575

i will try this.
once i load the csc file in wave remaker, i presume that the new fonts need to be added to the dump folder, then should I save it as un-compressed CSC and then flash the phone using the new csc file?

Hi pawlakpl, i used sTune & drag the font to Mount/Mmc/Others/ap24y6878b/Res/Font folder. But after copying the file my phone keep restarts itself again & again. I can't even off the phone. So I take out battery, power up the phone & the phone keep restarts itself again & again. Kindly advise what to do now. Thanks...

Thanks for info. I know that some fonts may cause boot loop while loaded into soft, didn't know that the same with installing on mmc.
Just put your SD card to any SD reader and delete modified font. Delete folder or restore original font.

ICS - Modifying a Stock Theme

I recently received my Galaxy Nexus - and love it!
My idea was to keep it as stock as possible, but I wanted to change the look and feel to be more minimal, without having to install a non-stock launcher or use a different ROM. (The inspiration for this came from Nitroz's 'Black Exodus' theme.)
Phone : Galaxy Nexus, Rooted, now with a slightly modified stock ICS 4.0.2
There were a number of posts all around the Internet that led me in the right direction. To the cast of thousands who shared their information - Thank You!! The instructions below are just a compilation of the work already out there, but hopefully as they are in one place they will speed things up if you want to do this.
I am assuming that any future OTA updates will reset this.
Instructions for a Newbie (like me)
Requires :
One Rooted Galaxy Nexus
Way of getting files on and off the phone - I am using ES File Explorer
7-Zip on a PC
The new icons
The icons are located in the APK files located in the \system\apps folder.
To change the SMS icon
On the phone
Backup the original \system\apps\mms.apk file
Copy the \system\apps\mms.apk to a PC with 7-ZIP installed
On the PC
Open with 7-Zip (DO NOT EXTRACT)
Change to the res\mipmap-xhdpi folder
Drag and drop the new PNG file (ic_launcher_smsmms.png) over top the old one.
Copy the APK file back to \system\apps on the phone
The phone does not require a reset, but you will need to add the icons back.
To change the Contacts and Phone icons
These are located in the \system\apps\contacts.apk.
Folder - res\mipmap-xhdpi
Files - ic_launcher_phone.png, and ic_launcher_contacts.png
To change the Browser icon
These are located in the \system\apps\BrowserGoogle.apk.
Folder - res\mipmap-xhdpi
File - ic_launcher_browser.png
To change the App Drawer icon
These are located in the \system\apps\launcher2.apk.
Folder - \res\drawable-xhdpi\
File - ic_allapps.png
Removing the line above the App Doc
The file from the phone to edit is \system\apps\launcher2.apk.
On the PC create a blank file called hotseat_track_holo.9.png.
Overwrite the file in the /res/drawable-xhdpi directory of laucher2.apk
Just a thought, but Nova Launcher looks exactly like the stock launcher, but you can change the icons to whatevery .png you want directly from the homescreen. They will remain even after updates to the app. It's entirely up to you, but i thought that might save you a ton of work
And save myself 2 days of pain and frustration?? ;-) It was a good learning exersize, although when the config gets nuked by an update, and I don't have the time to play, I will look at using a different launcher. Thanks for highlighting Nova as an option.

I used to install fonts on the go with Rom Toolbox but on the One only 1 font over 5 is working, many of them will freeze the phone on boot.

Will try this evening, thanks

Well for most font apps. It can fully apply on samsung only. For other phone, we need to use carefully as it may cause boot loop.
And now for the One, there are some font apps too, but it still cannot help to change all your font in the system. You can try, but I recommend you to use the method above.
Font apps recommend: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kapp.ifont
Note, it can only change some system font only, not all..... e.g. you can see your installed font in some apps, while in homepage, you will see the stock font
I found a good solution,I downloaded a font resize app because all that matters for me is bigger fonts,I have a short vision weakness
I have the problem of fonts restoring to it's original fonts after reboot.
Someone said to flash custom kernel with rw capabilites change (or) delete certain .ko files under /system/modules.
I can't find how to do both and any ideas please?
Thanks in advance.

Difficulty Installing Fonts on Huawei

Hello everyone, I am having trouble installing font themes on my Huawei phone. I use ifont and I select huawei mode, the theme appears in the app themes and I select the font because the theme has the font name. I reboot and the theme is applied but after a couple of hours the font becomes gibberish and I have to reboot. When I reboot the phone reverts to the original font. Even if there is no problem and I turn off the phone, when I restart it the original font is there instead of the new theme font.
I have also tried putting the hwt files in the hwthemes folder but when I do these themes do not appear in the theme app so I cannot select them.
I really hate the fonts that came with the phone and would really love to find a permanent way to change the font.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Is your phone rooted? I think the most stable way of installing fonts is rooting the device and using font-replacing apps that needs root permission
you can use other software that changes fonts, i used on some samsung galaxy s a software called Font Installer, the phone was rooted, heres the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.font.installer remember you must be rooted, i havent tested it on my p6... so do some backup, and donwload the rom you are using now on your sd card on a folder called dload, so if you get boot loop you can reapair it faster.

[Guide]How to add custom language in localized device

Hello.
In this tutorial, I will try to explain how to add some language(s) in your phone when it's not implemented by the vendor (localized ROM).
I will not cover how to change the keyboard language (or layout) as there are a lot of free keyboards in the market with a lot of localizations. (In my case I need azerty French keyboard that is not implemented in my ROM).
I did it with KitKat (4.4.2) but should be ok with almost any version.
It's for Samsung devices, I really don't know if it's work with others brands try it !
I'm pretty sure that only the 1st phase should maybe not work in other brands, The last 3 phases should be OK with any brand.
I'm French and living in Japan, I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 who is restricted by Japanese vendor (DOCOMO) to only English, Japanese & Korean languages.
I've read a lot of things before I could translate the OS (French in my case) , and I could'nt find any good tutorial. Some people say you can't, some say you have to recompile your ROM , etc...
First, you could install something like "applocal2" for add your language in already translated apps, but of course, it will not work for the non-already translated apps (usually system apps).
As I'm new here (look at my join date ), I coudn't post link, so google for them !
What you need :
In your device :
Your device must be rooted.
Root Browser or equivalent.
USB debugging turned on.
In your PC :
A Rom for your device with the language you want inside in the same version of Android. (Find it in sammobile.com site for Samsung devices).
sgs2toext4.jar. (Transform the system.img.ext4 from the extracted ROM to a readable format for the next tool)
ext2explorer. (Extract the files from the system.img.ext4)
Virtuous Ten Studio. (Don't have to present it !! The must have tool !!)
7zip or equivalent.
What you have to know :
This is always dangerous to play with system files ! I'm not responsible if you broke your device !!
Always do a backup of the file you will modify ! I suggest you copy them on your PC and you keep them in the original folder with a modified name, as this you could maybe try to restore them via ADB if something is wrong.
You don't have to bother with the signature mode when recompiling system (only) apk (any of them are ok). But you should copy the "META-INF" folder & "AndroidManifest.xml" file from the original apk to the newly repacked apk. (First erase them from the newly created apk inside 7zip, then open the original apk with 7zip and copy and paste to the new apk).
When copying new apk from PC to device, first copy them in the /system/ folder, then change permission to 644 (rw-r--r--) before finally moving them to the original folder.
How it's work :
The principe, as you should understand, is to extract both your apks and the apks from the dowloaded ROM, copy the ressources in your language from it to your apks and then rebuild them.
In our case (at least mine ) these apks are in the folders :
/system/app/
/system/framework/
/system/priv-app/
Ok, here we GO !
1st phase : extract the files from the downloaded ROM with the language you want.
Extract the ROM (.zip) with 7zip, and then extract again the resulting file (.tar.md5) with 7zip (you should have an error : don't care of it).
Open sgs2toext4.jar and past in it the file system.img.ext4. Wait it take time. It will produce a new file named : system.img.ext4.img
Open ext2explorer and choose open the previously created file. Then right click on it and save. Create a new folder (I named it sys), and press ok. Wait it take time.
You now should have the /system/ directory extracted inside the sys directory with the apks who have your language in them.
2nd phase : Find the apks you need to modify. This is actually the most harder part !
There are a lot of apks in the 3 directories I say earlier. You don't have to translate all of them.
The 1st one you should change is /system/framework/framework-res.apk or /system/priv-app/SystemUI.apk. One of them (don't remember wich one ) give you the option of your language in the settings.
Launch VTS (Virtual Ten Studio) and click New Solution
Choose the file you want to open, then Import.
Project-Type must be Apk-Project.
Choose a Solution Name (for example Original_name_of_apk or Translated_name_of_apk), then Click Next.
Should be Basic Theming. Click Next.
Click Next.
What I did is to open some of them one by one to see if there are localized languages in it.
Here a non-exhaustive list of what I found :
Some of them are the overlay by Samsung (TouchWizz), and some of them are Japanese version of app.
Try to find yours (for example JContacts.apk could be SecContacts_OSup.apk in the downloaded ROM) by opening both versions and comparing the file /res/values/strings.xml.
/system/framework/twframework-res.apk
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/priv-app/SystemUI.apk
/system/priv-app/Keyguard.apk
/system/priv-app/Jcontacts.apk
/system/priv-app/SecLauncher3.apk
/system/priv-app/SecPhone_JPN.apk
/system/priv-app/SecSafetyAssurance.apk
/system/priv-app/SecSettings.apk
/system/app/AccessControl.apk
/system/app/AssistantMenu.apk
/system/app/EasySettings.apk
/system/app/MultiWindowTrayService.apk
/system/app/SViewCoverService.apk
3rd phase : Copy the language from one apk to another.
Now you have found some apk to "translate", we must copy the /res/ folders we want from the decompiled apk of the ROM who contain your language to your original apk.
Look in the /res/ folder in VTS and find the differents languages : they are /res/value-xx/ but you could have in some case /res/raw-xx & /res/xml-xx.
Anyway,
Copy from the folder created by VTS all the directories who have the language you want (in Windows Seven it's : \Documents\Virtuous Ten Studio\Projects\Translated_name_of_apk\name_of_apk\Data\res) and copy them to the VTS directory of your original apk ( \Documents\Virtuous Ten Studio\Projects\Original_name_of_apk\name_of_apk\Data\res).
In VTS, reopen or reload the original solution.
Click Build all in the top tab Home. Wait it finish.
Very important : As said before, open your original apk and the newly created apk ( \Documents\Virtuous Ten Studio\Projects\Original_name_of_apk\name_of_apk\Binary) with 7zip, and replace META-INF folder & AndroidManifest.xml file from the original one to the new one. This will sign your apk.
4th phase : Replace the original apk whith the new one.
Copy the new apk on your device, and copy it in the /system/ folder.
Very important :Change permissions to 644 (rw-r--r--) with Root Browser in the device, and then move it to the original folder remplacing the original one.
That's it, wait few minutes and play with your device to see if there are no problems and then reboot, go settings, change language and see the changes !
I suggest you reboot after each change you made in case something goes wrong.
Notes :
In some case I had errors when decompiling apk. I had resolved that by remplacing the version of ApkTool in VTS by the last one (C:\Program Files (x86)\Virtuous Ten Studio\External\ApkTool) version apktool_2.0.0rc3.jar. Then remove the other 2.0.0 jar file.
In some case I couln't build the new apk because of errors in some layout files. I didn't manage to resolve that as the both ROM I have (mine and downloaded one) have the same issue.
If something goes wrong (but it shouldn't be), for example lot of messages "error xxx should close" just when you replace the apk before rebooting try to lanch an adb shell and to retrieve the original apk you had saved in the original dir by erasing the new one and rename the saved one. In some devices you have first to remount the system partion in rw as it's read only.
EDIT :
I had a bug with 1 file I modified : SecMms.apk
I'd tried it and it was working fine, but after I receive message, it crash always.
After some testing, I got it working by using the old version of APKTOOL (1.5.2) for decompiling it.

[MAGISK][MOD]Custom Boot animation and Fonts

Hello,
Here is a quick guide on how to replace the boot animation and system font on oos 10.0 (Android Q).
ROOT is required.
Boot animation:
1. Download the attached zip and extract it.
2. Download a custom boot animation of your choice (XDA Boot animations collection).
3. Rename the downloaded boot animation file to "bootanimation.zip" and copy it to "BootAndFont > system > media > bootanimation.zip".
You can skip now if you don't want custom font.
If you don't want to change Fonts, just delete the "fonts" directory.
4. Download custom fonts of your choice.
5. Rename the fonts to their relatives in the "BootAndFont > system > fonts " directory.
6. After everything is in place, using root explorer (such as ES File Explorer) move both "BootAndFont" and "module.prop" into the device to the following location
"/data/adb/modules/"
(You can see the final result in the attached images.)
7. Go to Magisk, refresh the modules and make sure that the new module is now on the last.
Reboot the device and everything should work!
*Tested on OP7T, Should work on every OOS 10.
*Current Font is Germania-one, you can leave it as-is if you want.
Feel free to ask questions.

What happens if i have a separate font module? Will that get overwritten even if i delete the font folder?
Can confirm this works! I'm running OP7TP5G (TMobile) running the latest Magisk.
If anyone is unclear of the directions, once you bring the custom boot animation zip in the BootandFont folder, you have to just simply take the BootandFont folder and move it to the location OP mentions. Go into Magisk and confirm, once you are done reboot and you should have the new bootanimation (and or font)
This method is better than the other bootanimation thread on this forum as this does not require you to flash in Magisk nor worry about the permission write error you will get. Much appreciated it hella weird too because I was up all night trying to figure this out and then you come up with this guide ???

If you are removing the "fonts" folder, then it will not overwrite your current font.

Hi,
You are correct, on part 6, I wrote by mistake to move the bootandfont.zip instead of moving the directory only.
To apply your custom font, first, you need to understand that in different scenarios different fonts are used.
for example when tinted or Bold.
if you have a tinted version of your font should replace it according to the font name.
if you have just 1 version of your font, you can duplicate your font file and rename the copies with every one of the "Roboto" file.
You can see in the attached photo that all of the files are the same. (They are all GermaniaOne that was renamed to what the system is looking for).
I hope it works for you, please contact me if you still have troubles

I've got same question here. When i'll have a free moment i'll try to flash this module with ui sounds.
EDIT: nope. There's something wrong with product mount, it's not working
@yaaria thank you for the guide, I installed animation etc. I downloaded font : roboto.medium.ttf
How select the font? must rename the roboto.medium.ttf, to Germaniaone.ttf ? and delete the ( first) Germaniaone.ttf?
Will this mod (font change attribute) work on stock AOSP ROM?
Nevertheless thanks for contribution.
Edit - Never mind it worked flawlessly.... Thanks for awesome tweak.
OMG Thank You! This is so awesome! I was looking for a way to change both of these and you killed 2 birds with one module. At first it didn't work but I then realized that the BootandFont folder was inside another BootandFont folder somehow, all I did was copy the folder containing the module.prop and system folder to the adb modules folder and deleted the duplicate folder it was in but the fonts didn't work. Then I realized I needed to copy the font I wanted running on My phone 18 times and rename them to all those roboto files, so the system loads the file but gets a different font! I now have the glitchy Cyberpunk 2077 Oni/Samurai mask boot image and the OCR-A font running flawlessly on My OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren. You're awesome!
