Hii guys..
I have a Desire HD (001HT) of Softbank.
This device was updated to new firmware with s/w number 2.64.762.3.
I want to SIM unlock but can't root or downgrade for old version firmware.
Hope some one kind enough could help me out.

If you have S-off, you should be able to install any of these stock roms without a problem: Stock Ace (DHD) ROMs
1.32 is perma rootable.
I had this problem with unrootable stock roms not 8hrs ago. This is how I solved mine.

I also have a Softbank 2.64.762.3 with S-ON. I tried the Ace Hack kit but its not working for me. I have already tried in 4 different laptops with different combinations of SD cards. But everytime I get the error that there is a problem with USB or GoldCard creation
I tried going through some Japanese sites. It seems that the tacoroot method works for already S-OFF phones only, but not sure since my Japanese ability is limited
Any feedback based on your efforts will be highly appreciated

well i'm a newbee here, just got my hands on htc wildfire a couple of week back, after reading a series of threads, here's my question :
1. should i really need to root my device?
2. how can i find my hboot version?

You don't *need* to root. All rooting does is give you privileges to do things to your phone that you otherwise can't do, like install custom roms & other apps that have extended "root-only" features. You will most likely enjoy your phone more if it's rooted. You will also get more help if you post your question in the Wildfire section.

I use my phone about 2x more since I rooted it. Rooting the phone gives you access to customize the phone more to your liking. I use the HTC Incredible with CM and I am still looking for different customizations. Overall, I would root the phone if given the ability.

1st. go to Wildfire dedicated section
2nd. Root is not a must but will give you more flexibilities and extra functions of your phone. Consider like having 150% of your phone.

+1. If you like to tinker around with your phone - root it.
If you want it just be a phone - don't worry about it.
Only way to make the Wildfire and Wildfire S rootable is to use the XTC clip.
Thankx guys for all your suggestions, but i tried rooting it with unevoked, but after wards its says, that your firmware is too new to be rooted,

I got HTC Desire HD unlocked from beginning when i got it as Pay As you Go. and its rooted to [ROM] Android Revolution HD 7.0.4, but the time came for me to unrooted it as i need to send it to htc to get it fixed. so please guys can some one help me with it to get it back to stock version please.

That's a job for the advanced ace hack kit. It was one xda before but the developer decided to host it from a blog instead.

Download and extract it somewhere. Make sure to turn of your antivirus as it will detect a exploit in the hack kit which is used when rooting.
Everything is in the effen manual.

Use the hack kit to revert to stock
What do i need to download? because i seen some files with Orange network and lots more other but my is unlocked to any network.

You don't need to download anything. The hack kit does it for you.

So I have searched the forums and I have found nothing on rooting the Telus DHD with 2.3.5? I don't know if the Advanced Ace will work because I'm in Canada? I also have read that it wont work with my current DHD or i need to downgrade? iunno, I'm confused. I'm relatively new to the whole "rooting" thing and I have been satisfied with the DHD until now. I was using Go launcher EX so my phone was alright, now im just bored and looking for an upgrade.
If there is already a forum can someone please point me in the correct way. I have tried to download some of the files here including the stock rom file....

The Hack Kit is the only working tool to gain S-OFF and as you read your phone will be downgraded first to achive that (done by the Hack Kit). Use the guide in my signature to find the infromation you need and if you have doubts, visit the thread in my signature. :good:

Video tutorial are useless, read the effen manual and the Hack Kit site (http://tau.shadowchild.nl). If you need some basics insight into Android commands and jargon, just use the guide in my signature or visit the Ace Think Tank thread..DO NOT OPEN USELESS THREADS WITHOUT USING THE SEARCH FUNCTION FIRST...
