Widgetlocker, custom themes wont appear in the list? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey ive been toying around for Widgetlocker for almost an hour. I placed a couple zip files in the themes directory, ive even also unzipped the zip files in the themes directory, and when i go into widgetlocker (even by pressing refresh themes), i can only select from the default 5 themes..
Anyone run into this problem? When i try opening the zip file from my file manager, it says no file is associated to zip (and my search to associate it was futile aswell). I was able to download a zip from the browser, then i opened it with Widgetlocker, and i was in the tool mode but still couldnt find the theme. (i saw in a youtube video a person got a popup to install the theme when widgetlocker opened, something I never got)

When you place a theme in sdcard/data/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker/themes
you do not unzip any of the files widget locker reads them only as zip files.

I know, i have a couple zip files sitting there. I tried to unzip just in case because I was running out of ideas.

same problem.
Is there any solution?

I don't even see a place for themes in the settings menu...am I missing something?

Go to add a custom slider and themes will be one of the options you will see. There is a great free app on the market place where you can view and download themes.

Maybe their just defective themes. Does this happen to all of your themes or just a few..?

[Q] Anyway to get MUIU like folders on other ROMS?

Like my title states...the one reason I love the MIUI rom is because of the folders. Is there any APK or any way we can get that on another rom? The MIUI rom has certain issues that I do not like to deal with. Thanks.
I believe astro file viewer allows you to classify your apps and make folders on your homescreens. It even allows you to pick the icons for each folder. It's free in the market.

I found that some of these worked for my phone. I have only tried a couple, but had good luck. YMMV
Ya... I'm currently using one of those themes now... But is really like to be able to use the ones from the thread I reposted...

I got them working on the rmk gb rom.. the ones that work are the "thunderbolt gingerbread" ones, and they download as .bin files.. rename them as .apk and install. There is a small problem with the status bar not changing with the modded ones and a little ghosting..

Download to your PC and place the .apk file in the root of your SD card on your phone and use Astro file manager (or similar) to install them. They will show up in the "Skins" area of your phone.....Very cool skins.

Currently running urban regeneration and quick pic. Us it possible to eery remove gallery completely? If so, is that accomplished by using a file explorer?

I removed mine completely, and have for the past few roms I flashed. I prefer to use AntTek App Manager Root for my freezing and removing needs...

I guess this question is sort of related to this so I'll ask it here. In Gallery is there any way that anyone knows of to NOT display every single folder that has an image in it? It's a little annoying going to the gallery and having folders for music album folders, certain apps, themes etc. I just want to see what in my DCIM folder and sub folders

In the folder you wish to hide, create a .nomedia file in it. That will hide the folder from appearing in gallery.
So I have root explorer, but where do I go to to delete Gallery?

I do that and it tells me,
"Gallery3D.apk cannot be deleted because the files system is read only."
I am running Random Rom Osprey, with EG22.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the help! I feel so empowered that I can now delete anything off my phone.

Gallery saving app icons as pics

Wonder if anyone else is experiencing this...when my phone updates apps from the market, the app icon is saved as a picture in my gallery. Deleting it doesn't do anything to the app and it gets annoying when you update 20 apps at once. Any ideas or experience on how to stop this?
I am rooted and all roms I tried have this happening on them, so it can't be them.

I was wondering what those were... They seemed pretty harmless so I just ignored or deleted them.

The stock gallery sucks. Use "quickpic" and long press and! Click exclude and it won't show that folder anymore. Plus the quickpic app sets photots as wallpapers in higher quality.
Do any of you have app monster installed? I installed the app mentioned above and went to ignore the directory of the icon image....said it was found in appmonster, deleted it and problem is solved.

Just guessing, but could you have "Auto-add widgets" checked in Market settings? Maybe what you're seeing are icons for the widgets it creates.
You can navigate to the folder on your SDcard and create a blank file
".nomedia" and then remount your sdcard and those files will no longer display in the gallery works good for these you don't want easily found

I have been using Quickpic over Gallery for months now. It really is great. If I could set lockscreen wallpapers from it, Gallery would have been deleted a long time ago..edit..maybe you can set lockscreen wallpaper with Quickpic ..

Actually, I tried freezing Gallery and then the opinion to set Lockscreen wallpaper from Quickpic disappears...so can't delete Gallery! Damn

Seems like an odd issue. Do you have any icon packs installed or something like that? I know Gallery will create thumbnails for something like that. Have you checked to see what the name of the folder is that the icons are in?
If it's icons packs or for some reason a folder is being created with the thumbnails in it then just do the .nomedia thing and reboot (or cycle unmount/mount of the sdcard).
It was definetly app monster pro. Anytime I updated/downloaded a new app, it would save an image file of the app icon in its directory. I deleted app monster since I use titanium instead, problem solved.

[Q] A tutorial for adding pictures into the Wallpaper directory?

Self explanatory post.. Tried searching for info but mostly its sites telling me how to set a wallpaper.
So far every ICS rom hasn't allowed me to properly size and add a picture as a wallpaper.. So hoping there is a way I can edit something to pick a picture I want.
The pictures are perfectly sized since I've used them on GB roms.

So I found the dark side wallpaper apk. And I figure if I rename a wallpaper to match the name in the existing apk it would save me having to build from scratch while I learn how to do that.
So question is how do I insert into the apk? Do I unpack it first? Which then makes me ask how do I repack it? And can I do that all on my phone?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
Well in my impatience I unzipped the Darkside wallpaper apk, put my pic into it and renamed the pic to match one of the existing pictures. Then I re zipper it all and renamed it from zip to apk. All inside es explorer.
Then I stuck the apk into system and it worked yay. It's ghetto but it worked until the ROMs fix wallpaper setting.

I've never tried, but I figure you would be able to just take an image and put it in the same location as the other system wallpapers? Might need to set permissions but I don't see why that wouldn't work..
