Longest amount of Up time on your E4GT? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I'm currently rocking 313 hours, 28 minutes since the last time my phone has rebooted.
If you are a flashaholic, your up time probably never exceeds 6 hours

Before I rooted the Device I had 3+ weeks without reboots. Lately however I've gone back and forth with a few roms so maybe 2-3 days. at one point (even though it was not this phone) I had 843 hours on my old MT3G Slide on T-Mobile (rooted)

Don't really care about time between reboots, but my record uptime is just over 31 hours, calk 2.8.1, rogue hitman oced to 1.504 conservative. Using 4g, even.

Damn....31 hours overclocked that high? What was screen on time? If you got anything over a couple of hours that's impressive!

The only time I've had to reboot was flashing or making changes to the system.

Can't remember exact screen on time, but it was under 2 hours. I did however download a ton of stuff on 4G trying to get stuff working on my view. I always have low screen time now that I have my widgets all set up. Phone comes on, g reader and facebook checked, phone goes off . Mostly use the tablet for xda now.

LMAO at this thread. It reminds me of the old Blackberry days. Those memory leaks were deadly...

[Q] Is WiFi better for battery life than 3G?

Read a couple posts about this, but I would like to confirm if this is true with our EVO's. Is using WiFi better for the battery than 3G when it comes to draining it? If this is true, it would be nice since my work and house both have excellent wireless connections. Before, I always thought wifi would use more battery since the antenna is always on..
Yes

By far..like twice as good.

If it was 2x as good I could get 52 hours on a single charge! But that wont happen.

Okay maybe 1.5x good lol. It is faster AND better on the battery. How do you get 26 hours on 3g?

Im interested to know this too!!!
I just got 15 hours on Wifi..of course I was sleeping half of those hours but I got in some YouTube videos and internet surfing. I took it out with 8% though. My batteries last way longer when I use the external charger too.

AVA's ROMs give me best battery life. I never turn off data and best battery life was 27 hours on single charge. That was with less than avg use though. I typically get between 18-20.

36 hours on a charge. Its poosible

Under minimal use i ran for 36 hours on single charge. Running eagle blood 1.0. Using some tweaks and stuff.

impressive! mine doesnt last that long because im always on xda from phone, texting playing games and streaming google music which takes alot...etc....
does eagleblood provide better battery use compared to stock (rooted with bloat removed)
I'm on EB too & batt life is pretty great. I'm a pretty heavy user(BT streaming for 2-5 hrs a day, up to an hour of phone calls, hour or two of web surfing, and hundreds of texts) & I can still make it all day just fine on a single charge. I think it's partly the rom but mostly that our phones just have damn good batteries. Even on stock I got good life.
Holy crap!
that is a major record !

My wife gets that with stock! Two push accounts, news widgets, fair amount of calls and texting!

my T999 has been giving me pretty bad battery life.

80% in one hour. its ridiculous is it me or the phone?

Need more info, my guess is a background app. Looks like you are stock 100%? That's your problem, lol... Just messing. What is your screen time? Click on display to see that... You're in a 4g area so signal shouldn't be the culprit. Your media is #1 user, but why, were you using it?
More like an hour and a half close to 2..if you used it for like 20 to 25 minutes I would think it's common. Like dude said above me we need screen time, also data technically eats battery away faster than wifi just a thought. Brightness is important too maybe you can try power saving mode, don't expect much difference though. Darker wallpaper helps, but most importantly are you auto syncing and if so which apps it usually starts there. Every little bit helps, most powerful phones have average battery life. Unless you start undervolting voltages and cpu that's where you see the big difference.

also, when i try to flash ANYTHING it comes up with an error. any advice on that as well? i really want to try a new rom as well.

Has to be a rogue app. Try wiping the phone and reinstall everything with increments to get to the root of your problem.

100% awake time, horrible battery life.

Okay guys, I hope this phone gets better battery life than 8 hours, and I'm not hard on a phone at all. Any ideas on this? My wake locks are horrible for some reason and I'm running the synergy r71.

Yeah alot of people freak out when tbe phone gets to about 50% they don't realize that thats half the day usually. ... and it also depends on how long your last flash was it takes a few days forvthe kernel to settle.

Heat issue / over heating

The heating / over heating people notice isn't the phone itself...
What the heat or hotness people feel coming from the back of the phone near the l.e.d is actually where the contact points are for the WiFi...
So its not the battery or CPU over heating its the WiFi actually pulling an excessive amount of juice while trying to either connect to a poor router signal or a heavy download...
Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 4
Interesting.... Is this a fact? Cause I run wifi all the time at my place on lifeless and there's no heat, but on cm or dirty unicorns it heats up. The same spot you mentioned.
Sent from my LG-LS970
Yes I will post pic of were the contacts are located and where they meet the back of the phone...

Interesting.....
I never wouldn't thought it were the Wi-Fi but now this actually makes sense. A couple of times lately I've noticed my phone burning up just doing routine downloads. I knew it wasn't anything taxing the CPU too much...

I never would of either until I was messing with the Sim card mod.. Hope it helps everyone ...
Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 4
That's interesting. I've noticed that it heats up pretty nicely while I make my daily back ups for Stock and AOSP.
LGOG

If you look at the CPU or battery temperature, it's usually hot when the back feels hot. All that depends on the thermal driver in kernel. I haven't played around with that a ton, but usually show-p1984's from bricked kernel for the N4 works well for me.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
I turned off that thermal daemon monitor from a thread awhile back... figure it makes a good hand warmer. if he dies, he dies lol.
