Hi all..
I have probem with MIUI, i flashed 2.1.20 on my defy and everything is nearly perfect but GPS is not working correctly. On official rom gps position would be detected in seconds indoor and outdoor. Now I cang get fast fix even out.
Any suggestion? I am in europe. I try changing ntp server but little help if any...
Try GpsFix from the market, anytime I've had trouble with GPS it's always worked for me.

When using GPS it always says waiting for location no matter where I am..but on my zte blade its almost instant.
This happened on reduce rom, and now on cm7.
Please help as I need GPS alot

GPS is buggy in those 2.3 GB ROMs.
However one of them has it working fully (Gingervillain or latest Redux, I think).
But if you use it a lot stick with 2.2 ROMs.
Try another Radio or Kernel
tried all suggested but no luck.
Which CM7 build are you using? I had this problem with CM7 RC1 and RC2 but after I switched to RC3, GPS started to work.
GPS could be faulty. Flash the stock RUU, test again, and take it back if it still doesn't work.
Had this a couple of times before. I used fast reboot from the market to stop and start apps and processes worked a treat for me.
Make sure you disable GPS before you run the app. Hope it helps.
The thing is, that the GPS works fine when i get a GPS lock/fix.
But it takes so long to connect e.g 1-5mins.
My ZTE Blade has an instant 3-10sec lock every time.
Hi,
I think I got this problem since froyo, but I'm not sure. GPS needs ages to find a satellite, most of the time it's not working. Strange enough it's working almost instantly after I rebooted the phone! This problem is not related to the navi softare I'm using.
I'm currently on the latest Leedroid and patchet the Kernel v6. Any ideas?

Lee is using the European NTP servers for reference. Depending on your side of the world, you might need to change the entry in /system/etc/gps.conf to "NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org".
Cheers

I'm living in germany...central europe...
Maybe try another radio. Have you checked your connection with "GPS status?"
I tested GPS status and with this prog it works much faster, strange enough...
hi fellow one-x users
im on hboot 1.39 on my one-x and i cant get an GPS fix anymore,
ive tryed aokp, arhd, cm10.1, onex maxximus and several other roms with the outcome that sometimes a single sattelite appears on the GPS Status & Toolbox app screen but it vanishes again shortly after.
ive read a few times now that GPS wont work with the "Higher HBoot's" at all, is that a global statement or just true for CM10(.1) and similar roms?
if thats global, does anyone know when there will be a new hboot which adresses those issues?
or am i screwed now in terms of GPS usabily?

It's broken on AOSP based ROMS, should have worked on ARHD.
It'll probably get fixed shortly after HTC releases the JB kernel source, which, frankly, should any time now.
It should've worked on AOKP-4.2.1 and Trip's CM10.1 too.
well it dosn't, neither with trips cm10.1 jelly nor with trips cm10 jelly havent tried any ICS roms yet
ive tried the gps.conf patcher ive found somewhere in the forums, ive tuned the ntp pools to europe, ran GPS Fixer from market. and still cant get a fix at all, the most i can get on some ROMs is a single sattelite appearing
Have you tried whilst outside? Sometime after the new year mine stopped working as well, however I'm on stock JB (voda Australia). It will work if I'm outside in clear view of the sky but in all other situations it doesn't work (but previously did). In my case I'm guessing a hardware fault and the GPS antenna is just now extremely weak...
Hello,
I installed the touchwized version of the CM10.1 by cup_cake (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365885&page=11)
The ROM works great with the exception of the GPS which is now not working, if I use an app. to display the satellites available it will display 4 or 5 satellites but it will never get a fix.
Is there any way I can fix this?
Thanks,
Can anybody help me with this please?....
I'm experiencing the same!
GPS was working fine with CM 7.2, but after installing a new CM 10.1 ROM the GPS fix takes literally ages, if it works at all. The Galaxy Nexus, for comparison, finds enough satellites for a fix within seconds, when the latest stock ROM (4.2.1) is installed.
Any ideas where to start?
I had the same issue on my Wildfire S running Owl Project's Jellybean CyanogenMod 10,1
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283549)
GPS did not lock even after half an hour, it only drained battery. But I tried this thing:
One of these flashable ZIPs made the GPS find satellites. The coordinates it gives me are off about 200 kilometers from my actual location but at least it locked, at least there is some progress. I am still trying to figure out how to make GPS show me my actual location and not some asshole place I've never been to.
But some others said it worked like charm for them, maybe it will for you, too.
Hey Shisco!
Currently I'm using TopNTP (you can find it in the Play Store), an app from the thread opener of your link. It does the same as the zip files there, but gives you the option to adopt the gps.conf settings to your needs. Give it a try, because IMHO this app improves GPS a little bit.
Okay, the problem just disappeared by itself When on the move, more satellites appeared and GPS coordinates were now exact. The patch worked in the end I just had to give it some time
Same here, but it sometimes sucks to wait that long. Under CM 7 the GPS fix was much faster.
Hi everybody !
Sometimes, I need to use my phone as a GPS and since I updated to stock marshmallow, GPS fix is really bad (can't fix or takes lonnnnnnng minutes) and regularly (too regularly...) when I drive, Google Maps says "Signal GPS Perdu" --> ("GPS signal Lost" ?) and obviously it's when i don't know the road...
In Lollipop (stock) , I thought that GPS was very bad compared to my old Galaxy SIII.
GPS fix took half a minute and sometimes it disconnects (but less than in MM when there is a fix...) (in the same location my old GSIII took 2-3 seconds and it never disconnects)
oddly, my old Asus TF700t who is on Marshmallow (KatKiss) works largely better than my G3 for the GPS (not as good as the GSIII, but it works really great) but unfortunately it's really complicated to take it on the car...
So, I would like to now if someone has these kind of problems with its G3 on stock marshmallow and if it's the case how to resolve it ?
Thank you

I was surprised when I received the same issue. Running GPS Locker before Google Maps seems to work for me, although I did load FasterGPS and set the NTP Server to my local area.

I tried FasterGPS and TopNTP apps but everytime i set different setting than default, the GPS stop detecting any satelites (previous root my LG g3)
I need a solution soon :crying::crying::crying::crying:
Same issue here. It finds the satellites but never gets the lock on. When without wifi or mobile data, its a problem
Or, when there is a fix, after a few seconds, it losts the signal...
On CM13, fix is faster, but it regularly losts the fix...
i have the same problem on my LG g3 I am tired of it........
