[Q] why are there two galleries in ICS

just curious since i flashed my Arc S to the official ICS version, it has 2 apps for gallery. one simply named Gallery and the other Xperia Gallery. is it safe if i simply disable the Gallery from the apps menu? and is the built in screenshot option not available anymore?
EDIT: also how is it i still cannot access apps in the market such as Google Chrome Beta or Photoshop Touch that are both supposedly compatible with ICS?

Because Bravia Engine works only with old gallery (xperia gallery) not ics. :-D

where are you from?its only for u.s,use market enabler

Chrome beta is fine for me on ics. But no photoshop, I presume the Xperia doesn't have the requirements.

Hello!
I've seen many times the bluetooth, internet, GPS, Wifi etc... widget on many Xperia phones now:

Is it possible, somehow, to extract that widget and install it on other Xperia phones? I'd like that widget on my home screen...

Yes,but if i know right,you need to install Xperia NXT launcher.

I've just tried it. I choose to add a new Widget to my screen, it gives me the option to add the APP, but nothing happens.
I'm on ICS 4.0.3 .562.
Should I do something else? Maybe push it to system/app and give the permissions?

yeah see if that works :/ or use titanium back up pro to convert to system

I tried this kind of method I extract status switch from ICS ROM and install on fxp 146 jb all worked but GPS and data usage not working.

New home apk is out! Have you got it?

I was viewing a forum today, and I was caught by a thread. The poster of the thread shows his new home screen, it's from SONY Android 4.1 ,the Xperia home. He said, he got a notification of updating his home.apk, and he did it. But I have unlocked my phone, that's to say, I can't get the update information, so, Couly you guys with locked lt26I could upload an apk of the new home ？ Thx alot. Sorry for my poor English.

There isn't a 4.1 update for any Xperia device yet. The 4.1 you saw must be the app version.

you may misunderstand what I mean. I said the home is from the Xperia Android 4.1. Eh, I see.. the homescreen is the same with Xperia yuga ,you can Google it. I will post a picture tomorrow. Send by my Xperia s

Yes the screenshot are leaked of xperia z (yuga) that shows Xperia JB launcher but I don't think anyone has it yet.. If so he would have shared it by now in all Xperia forum.. Can u plz post the link u got this from

Very colser to Xperia Z lockscreen

I have made this lockscreen with changing icons and background with all 720p resulation, and all icon are created by me with Photoshop. i thought you might like it. but i cant made the widgets of music like JB 4.3. I also need that. i am waiting for long time for the lockscreen and and all feature of Xperia Z 4.3 rom. yesterday i have seen the latest updated 4.3 rom on a Xperia Z and there were awesome features on that. i am waiting for JB4.3 and Kitkat 4.4 feature.

Sony XZ3 Live Wallpapers [7.0+] [Root/Non Root]

Hello Everyone,
I have updated the XZ3 Live Wallpapers so it can be used on snapdragon chipset Sony phones running 7.0 as well. I have tested it on my Xperia Z5 running 7.1.1.
Just install as a normal apk. Enjoy! Please let me know if anyone has any kind of issues.
1. You might get a theme element incompatibility error. Just swipe away the error message. This should not affect the functionality of the theme.
2. These themes might not work on devices with Mediatek chipsets due to difference in libraries.

That's weird because I use the same mrom but 2.9.5 on my Z5. I don't see that message.
Does the theme actually have any incompatibility issues when you apply it?
Can you swipe away that message or does it stay on the notification area permanently?
I have root and superuser mod in my phone. So I don't know if it has to do with everyone else not having it.
I will change the title slightly if someone can confirm after testing it on a rooted device.

They all have the black background and the colour of the animated gooey liquid changes. That's how the theme is.

Maybe is a problem with my rom, because is the version with aroma in Chinese and bloatware. I test with 2.8.9 version

I wanted to release the updated mrom version 2.9.5 for other Z5 devices but I'm not finding time to do so. I'll try releasing them in the appropriate forums.
Do you have any issues with the theme as such based on the message?

Yeah thanks, I want make the mod, but I don't know how to do :silly:
Well just the message and I can swipe it, everything else is normal and my device is rooted with magisk maybe is issue too.

What exactly is the error that you get? Do you get past the installation stage?
Can you try the attached file and revert back if it works.

Also getting new theme installed notification
But as soon as I go ahead and apply it shows app stopped working.

I belive it has something to do with the chipset that you have on your phone which is a bit different than all the other models that sony generally has. Thats the only thing I can think of. The apks for your chipset model might have slightly different libraries.

I m using existenz rom 6.0 xperia x.. Everything works so well..

I installed, but no background, only black screen. Xperia L1, 7.0 stock. I guess my phone sucks...

Fogetaboutit... It won't look nice unless you have a 18:9 screen

Again unfortunately even Xperia L1 has a mediatek chipset. So I believe it might be due to that.
