ODIN mode, potential brick - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey there.
I am boarding an airplane in a couple hours so I am urgently seeking help.
I am using akop b25. I was installing a Google music apk and my phone restarted. It then went into a boot loop.
When I turn the phone in using power+volume down, it boots into a screen like fast boot except it says ODIN mode in red at the top, under the android picture it says downloading.... do not turn off the target. The only thing I can do from here is battery pull or press the power button to activate "start", which just boots the device and back into boot loop.
Can anyone help me with this situation. Thanks alot

Try another button combo. Volume up and power button?
In recovery, reflash the rom. I'm not sure though how an apk install caused boot loops.

To get to fastboot the button combo is Vol Up + Vol Down + Pwr. From there select recovery and reflash.

Wow, epic face palm. I could have sworn fast boot was volume down only. Okay, I should be fine then.
Thanks a lot guys

Help recover my phone?

So I just applied a ROM update to my phone, it started bugging out for a while and a blank screen appeared.
Rebooted and it flashes the Samsung pic, then just stays blank.
If I boot into recovery, then press continue it just states ' downloading....do not turn off target!!'
Left it for ages and nothing happens
Don't think I can do a factory reset without getting past this?
Please help with any suggestions
It sounds like you are sitting into download mode, not into recovery.
Power+ home+ vol down: download mode
Power+ home+ vol up: recovery

[Q] Has anyone encountered a frozen boot screen?

So I messed up...
I flashed the new JB, rooted, and unlocked it(FreeGee) and it was working decently. For some reason (that I can't remember now), I had to go back to ZV7 using LGNPST. When I reupdated to ZVB, I think I forgot to unlock with FreeGee and debloated. (at this point, you're thinking "this guy is a complete idiot") After my next restart, I got the dreaded "security error" bootloop.
I didn't panic yet. I went ahead and tried to downdate to ZV7 again using LGNPST. At 85%, the phone rebooted as normal but after the boot screen, it froze showing the "4GLTE" screen at the end of the animation. I tried waiting it out but no luck.
When I tried downdating again, I'm getting the same boot screen freeze. Worst part is I can't access recovery; the phone just restarts and goes through the boot animation.
So now, I'm panicking. Anyone else encountered this problem and/or can enlighten me please?
Go to recovery and factory reset the phone.

I tried accessing the recovery (Vol up + power?) but it just starts the boot animation. Is there any other way to access it? Also, because I used LGNPST, it should open the stock recovery, right?
Power button 45 seconds
Hold the power button down for about 45 seconds. This will truly turn off the phone.
Access recovery using Vol. Up and Power buttons, then factory reset, and reboot.
You will be good to go.

No luck :crying:
As soon as I hit the two button combo, I get the red LG globe logo pop up for a second.
If I release as soon as I see the logo, it goes to the boot animation
If I continue to hold the buttons (and wait for the the blind menu on the bottom left), the screen remains black and nothing comes on...even after holding the buttons for 45-60 secs.

It worked! Thank you so much!
I couldn't get into recovery last night either.
This is the simplest way, methinks (from command prompt with adb.exe in same folder):
adb reboot recovery

[Q] Won't start after rooting with odin

I try to root my S3 with odin now the only thing i got when i turn it on it's a few second of Samsung image and after that it's vibrating and nothing more.

To reboot in download mode you need to press all together : Volume down, home button and power. In clockwork mode you nee to press : Volume UP, Home button and power and them let go all when you see Samsung galaxy S3 logo with litte blue writing on left top corner.

Yes the only thing happen i saw tje samsung logo for 2 secondes and the phone vibrate and the screen turn black
Since I'll assuming you flashed rooted firmware, you need to access recovery to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache in order to proceed. Which root method did you use?
Recovery mode: Vol up + home + power. When your device vibrates, release only the power button

And if it doesn't work you can force it into downoad mode by holding down the power. volume down and power key without the battery and then putting in a micro usb cord plugged into the computer. Then put in the battery. Thats the hard way haha
Or get into recovery and clear all cache and factory reset.

Which Odin did you use?
I've been using the one from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822308 and never had issues.
Gotta make sure you download the one for Rogers.
So you successfully got it into download mode and flashed the stock rooted rom with no issues?
If so then you need to wipe data from and cache in order to eliminate the bootloop.
Again, recovery is: Vol up + home + power. When your device vibrates, release only the power button

[Q] Can't get into recovery after rooted and flashed CM10

I rooted my Galaxy S II t989 and used goo.im to install the recovery program (whichever it found compatible with my phone) and Cyanogenmod 10. I flashed CM10 from goo.im, and the phone backed up and rebooted to the the cyanogenmod screen. It was stuck there forever (over 30 minutes), so I pulled the battery and tried to get into recover mode, but no dice. I can't get to recovery mode, and it just goes back to the cyanogenmod screen.
When I hold volume up, down, and power it'll flash the "teamwin" blue screen, but then just go blank and if I keep holding volume up, down, and power, it'll just pulse the vibrator every second until I let go (forever if I just keep pressing). When I let go, it just goes to the cyanogenmod screen.
I'm kind of at a loss here, and I'm afraid of bricking the phone. What can I do?

I think I figured out how to get into recovery. If I take the battery out and start holding the buttons before I put the battery back in I can get into recover. I am now flashing stock. But if I couldn't get into recovery or download mode how could I flash anything with Odin?

The easiest way to get into recovery is to shut your phone off, press volume up and down buttons and power. When you feel it vibrate let go of the power button only.
For download mode turn off, press both volume buttons and plug phone into computer.

How timely, I thought I had seen something weird before with releasing the power button.
Thanks.

Jacked up my T800 by forgetting to update my bootloader -- is there any hope?

First off, I'll openly admit I'm an idiot and missed the bit about needing to update the bootloader on my T800 and now my tablet won't do anything other than sit at the Samsung boot screen.
I've tried doing the power button + volume down + home button key sequence but it just reboots. Same thing about switching to volume up after it goes dark. I'm not sure if I just haven't gotten the sequence down properly or if it's just a lost cause at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions?
If you've held the power button, vol down and home button simultaneusly the device should boot to download mode. At that point you would select volume up to enter the mode. Are you sure you are holding these long enough and that the device is not plugged in?
If you are on a 7.x.x. rom then you may be having the same problem as me. If you came from the Samsung 6.0.1 rom then you already have the right boot loader.
Plug in charger and then power button all you need to do is stop the boot loop so you can get it in to the mode you need......

Thanks, stinka318. Right now, it's stuck in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S boot screen and will sit there until the battery runs out. Are you saying plug it into power right now and hit the power button or do I need to let the battery completely die then plug it back in so it's powered off to start with?
Thanks for the help!

If I hold the power button, vol down and home button down simultaneously, it will reboot the device but then go back to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S boot screen. I've tried holding that down until my fingers go numb (how long have you had to hold it down for?). I've also tried letting go of the vol down and moving it to vol up once the screen goes black then releasing the power button when the Samsung screen comes up but that doesn't do anything either. Everything that I've ever tried just ends up showing the Samsung screen. So frustrating!
Thanks for the help!

Yep plug it in now and hit the power button it will show the battery charging icon from that you should be able to do thing you need to recover it.
boot into download mode (was mentioned how to do it on this thread already), go to ODIN, flash the bootloader, boot into twrp, wipe everything (to be safe), and flash your desired rom
