[Q] Has anyone looked into theming the lock ring - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Has anybody looked into theming the lock/unlock ring on the lock screen like maybe changing the color or shape of it?

I believe plenty of people have done it already. Its a simple framework image that needs changing. 100% possible.

It s only one image like that, so you won't miss it

Just a quick 2 minute thing, but an example of what can be done.

I'm having a similar issue. Tries replacing images in both "drawable-sw600dp-xhdpi" and "drawable-xhdpi". I have replaced both "ic_lockscreen_handle_normal.png" and "ic_lockscreen_handle_pressed.png", but it just seems to cause endless bootloops of death. EBoD!
Please assist, as I would very much like to have a modified lockscreen.
Thank you in advance.

Keeping them the same size? they are quite large like 216X216(I think from memory)
A sample:
DarkHorse Revolution - NeXus Edition
How are you tryign to do it?
You dont need to the the ones in sw600dp-xhdpi folder, just darwable-xhdpi folder.

You could just get WidgetLocker, which in addition to allowing widgets on the lockscreen, also allows you to have alternate wallpapers, and modify the lock pictures and method (i.e. unlock like HTC Sense, Sense3, iPhone, as well as ICS).

hmm these made the wording go all crazy on my lockscreen, any idea why?
Hmm, interesting concept, but I don't think it plays well with the lockscreen text. The clock, notification icons, and player controls get lost in the visual noise.

Transparencies in your lockscreen "post mango" do not work very well. Unfortunate but well documented.

Absolutely position

Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to get absolutely position on my home screen and other screens for folders and icons without using a launcher?
Thanks

When moving icons and folder on a screen you cant just put them anywhere you want its locked to a grid so is there a way to be able to put folders and icons anywhere you want on the screen?

If you want your folder/app stick to the point where u left your finger and not in the 4*4 grid - so you want it to stick at the exact position - well you can't. Don't know even why would you like to do that? You could mess with your shortcuts easily
Hope fully this will give everyone a better idea of what I am on about.
This first image shows the amount of space available on the screen

It would be nice to have total control but unfortunately we don't. I used to have launchers plus on my desire and it is probably the kind of thing you are looking for. Instead of a 4x4 grid you can change it to many others. For instance a 5x6 which would nearly double the amount of icons you could have on screen. You could also resize widgets which was handy. And if I remember correctly you could even have more quick launch icons at the bottom. Very nice app.

[REQ] Theme Go Launcher Ex default icons

I love the simplicity of Go Launchers Ex default icons, so I decided to extract them. I was hoping someone who knows how to theme icons could help me out. I was hoping you could either theme these ICS blue for me or give me instructions how to using GIMP. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!
P.S..Below is a zip with Go Launcher EX default icons and a pic of my setup I'm trying to get the icons to match up with. Again, thanks!!
Edit: Well I think most of the dev's are busy working on their personal projects or spending family time (which is understandable), so I had to go in it alone. Not bad for someone who really had no idea what I was doing...LOL!! Anyway, if anyone can give me some tips how to spruce these up a little using GIMP (like adding a slight glass effect), then I would truly appreciate it. Screenshot and new ICS_blue_icons zip is at the bottom for anyone who might want to use these. (*The screenshot takes away the color some, but they pretty much match up to the color in the clock and on the notifications bar.*)

i was looking for a days on google play. thanks man.
Can i request more icons of this?tnx
Thank you very much!! I love this icon set!
I too was looking for at least the standard set of dock icons from Go launcher EX, so thank you for providing that.
Like others I too have been searching for this style but with a lot more apps. I can't seem to find anything, I have even been through that giant list of icon packs here on XDA and did not find anything... if you have the time let me know if you found anything or nothing at all, so I can end my search one way or the other.
Thank You

[APP] [4.2+] Transparent Widget

Hi there,
Some people asked for something like that: A way to disable all lockscreen widgets in Jelly Bean.
This is a simple solution for the "problem":
An app that contains just a transparent widget.
Programming it was no big deal, but it might help some of you. Here you can see it "in action":

It should work on every ROM and every device as long as it is Android 4.2 or above.
I hope that I am not overstepping by making a request. I have been looking everywhere for a blank home screen widget but all there seems to be are lock screen widgets.. Could you pretty please make it so that this can also be added to the home screen? Is that a difficult thing to do?
Edit: apologies, I found something seconds after posting this..

Hi, I'm sorry for not replying earlier but I'm quite busy at the moment.
No, you don't ask for too much. That's a quite easy change and I'll do it as soon as I've got some spare time.
@Phenom2122: You can find the download of the homescreen version in the first post now.
I don't really know why the apk is so much bigger than the first one but I don't have the drive to search for the reason. However, it works perfectly. Enjoy it.

Requst - IconPack from exsiting MIUI icons

One of the Best icons i saw for android was the htc sense glasslike icons in MIUI rom. The idea was to put the regular icons in a shiny clear glass frames, and the result is simply beautiful. Lately i was able to find the original iconpack here.
The link contains a zip with some ready to use icons and the glass frame. I used some of the icons with nova (repalced manually each one) and it really looks super great. The problem is the zip does not contains icons for each app i have. I think it is building the icons it doesnt have on the go, And i dont know how to do that.
Is it possible for one of you telnted guys to take the frame and creat a nova legit icon pack?
See the icons at the bottom line on my phone

Whereever you found them, if they're under creative commons (CC) (means I can use them however I like for anything I like) I can probably make an icon pack.

Can you elaborate on how to install it? this are MIUI icons, did you succedded on installing them on a regular launcher?
No, I downloaded them, I put in the Download folder, and then, I installed one by one, manual.

Thats how i did it. Problem is that doing so is good only for some of the apps, in which you have prepared icons. what do you do with apps that dont have an icon in the zip?

Good question, I put myself the same question, and my answer was :"it seem that you need to use just for the ones you have"
...and I used just what I had and I considered that being more important to stay on the dock. Inside the menu, I let another kind of icons for the rest of applications.
Ok, so nobody wants\can transform this zip file into a lagit iconpack?
