Is there Any custom rom for galaxy y duos GT-S6102
like MIUI , CM7 anything

Need Samsung galaxy y DUOS custom rom...
I have been searching the web for about a month... I didnt find any custom rom for my galaxy y duos... I hope one will be created soon by some one...Samsung galaxy y duos not galaxy y...

no custom rom until now.
as long as i know there are some peeps here that started to develop.....

Well we devs from galaxy y can try porting roms.. But not cm, MIUI yet cuz we also dont hav it yet

the custom rom depends upon it's source
Since we don't have the device to test
Also upload the boot.img

R u thinkin of creating a custom rom wid boot.img?? Or is it for kernel?? I can make custom roms with only system files but that technique is in beta version for me xD

Can i get ONLY the system files?? Copy it on sdcard using root explorer and den upload it... Uploading wont be trouble as this file should be small than nandroid backup... Otherwise i can use the nandroid backup posted above

Even superman will fail to make custom rom from boot.img lol

[CWM] kernel.tar Installer

a little contribution on this section
since there are some people having a problem on how to install odin flashable kernel in cwm (kernel.tar), so i made this simple tool to solve your problem
just like other kernel installer but this can extract tar file and install boot.img so what you have to do is just rename the tar file kernel into "kernel.tar" and put it on your sdcard (don't put inside any folder) then flash the kernel.tar-Installer.zip thru cwm and your done
Note: please don't blame me if you flashed a wrong kernel!! it's a brain.zip problem not the installer

I didn't know you could flash .tar files using CWM good work and thanks for the info, this installer might come in handy :good:

cwm uses busybox
and busybox can extract tar, zip, etc.
busybox can do more than an app.

what is init.d script

In the above link there is a dorect link of init.d script but its broken
So anybody please tell me what is init.d acript and also how to install

There are many scripts in the etc folder.
Init.d is a special folder which contains special scripts for tweaking our phone. Init.d scripts are available in cwm flashable zips.

You have to root it and flash any script of your Choice.

Sorry, could you tell me how did you flash the rom on our Liquid E2?
We haven't a CWM with SELinux enabled yet

You can also install with cwm others, I use cwm 6.0.3.5 it worked for me.

I flashed the rom on my Liquid E2 with your boot.img but it doesn't boot. It doesn't load even the bootanimation

you must wipe data or factory reset and wipe chace before install it.. don't forget download patch and unpack rom stairway and overwrite the files.. if still doesn't work maybe you dont have cwm support kk:what:

I packed a new kernel by myself with stock kernel zimage and port kernel ramdisk and it works fine

I usually use cygwin to pack and unpack boot.img .. but there is no zimage.

Sincerely I hate cygwin, I use this tool:

You only have to drag and drop your boot.img over MTK_unpack.bat script.
After that in extracted folder you should have 5 files and 1 folder.
kernel and kernel_header are zimage files, the rest it's ramdisk

waiting stable version for cm11.
