I have seen it on some video, ... go to the leap view, .... and click and hold one of the screens, .. and then move it
That's what I thought (and remember seeing it done somewhere) but it doesn't seem to work.

There is nothing about this in the full manual so it's most probably not possible unless it's hidden.
I swear i saw it in some vid I even remember which screen the guy moved

You probably saw it on a vid of the N1 running Desire ROM.
I believe there was a mod on that ROM which allowed you to move homescreens around from leap.
It can be done but you have to move it peice by piece. Each widget can be moved so what i was reffering to is say the bookmark page can be moved to another screen.
You cannot change the order of the screens as far as I know, no previous android phone has had this ability and nobody Outside this thread has even suggested you can. I think some people may have confused the "helicopter View" that allows you to display all screens and jump directly to any screen with the ability to rearrange them.
yeah im reffering to being able to move any widgets. could start from blank and re-arrange it to how ever you want.
You can do this but only on the Desire ROM ported to the N1. paulobrien, the developer behind the Desire port, already told us that this "long press a homescreen and swap it around" trick isn't available on actual Desires.
He's getting a Desire, though, so when/if the Desire is rooted I'm sure you guys will get this feature ported too. Kind of ironic, no?

Yep! You simply press and hold the screen you want to change and drag it to the remove bin at the bottom of the screen. You then replace it by clicking the "+" button bottom right of home screen, and choose from the list of widgets. I put on HTC calendar and photo album as two of my 7 screens. It is SO EASY to use this phone!
I don't think you understand. He means the ability to move around each homescreen, widgets/shortcuts and all, without needing to delete widgets/shortcuts and putting new ones on. You're thinking about long-pressing a widget or shortcut, not long-pressing a screen.

YES! exactly what i mean, ... can you guys tell me where is the video, i have been looking all over for it .. every day it has become an obsession for me to find that video D:
I can't tell u how many times I've ask this question without anyone answering ....so maybe I'm the only one (prolly I'm missing something obvious)
But I have had no success finding anything useful (or even remotely close to wut I'm trying to find) while using the 'Search' option, in the 'XDA' app.
Does anyone know wuts up? ...will it ever be improved ...either I'm missing something or it needs removed, cuz as is, its completely useless!

Im tempted to say I agree, but I don't search enough.
One major thing I've noticed is that it's useless to the degree that it searches the whole damn site. It'd be nice if we could search forum specific or even thread specific.

This should already be possible in the app.
Yea should be more precise its hard looking for anything having to revert to the desktop and search is a pain

How do you do that? The only way I can search is by going back to the main screen, selecting more and then search. I do use the free app though.

Can someone make this into a boot animation for me. It is a video of yoda break dancing. I am currently using Synergy (RLS1+Godmode). I thought that I had seen this on here at one time but have been surching for it ever since and haven't found it. If anyone knows of a good walk through of how to do oit myself you can point me in that direction also. I have been lurking in the shadows here on XDA for a while now but have not posted anything for fear of it being posted in the wrong place so I am sorry if this is not the right place to put this. Thank you in advance for any help I made It into a rar because I cant post outside links yet so hopefully you can see it if not it is just called dancing yoda on you tube.

I actually made one just like it.
I found a .GIF file, broke it down by frame, and resized it for the EVO.
I just don't have a way to upload it.

I had found a different picture but wasn't sure if it would be appropriate for the forum and I don't want to be band. There were some drug references in it. They weren't called snap crackle and pop.

I tried flashing it 3 times. Twice with amon and once with clockwork and no go should I try putting it in system\customize\resources With root explorer.
Im also getting a lot of force closes right now.

now the voices are in 3d
Is giving me a real headache! The cursor is ok until you want to move it somwhere, the the reply box flashes blue and the cursor wont go where you want to move it to, instead randomly landing anywhere on your text but where you want it. Its a complete nightmare!
Anybody else get this? Just wishing for a fix that would save hours of farting about in future.

Agreed, it's a disaster.
And TapTalk sucks.
I think it's more of an Android issue rather than a galaxy Nexus issue as my HTC Desire does the same thing. I love Tapatalk but sadly not all forums I visit will enable Tapatalk (they'd rather you view their forums and the ads that come with it).

I wished I had known this little fact before I went ahead and bought it. I mistakenly thought that Tapatalk was an add-on which could be used for all of my favorite forums. I first heard about it here and it turns out that this is the only forum that I read that uses it.
I didn't read and realize that it only works for those forums that you can convince to add support to. Not one of my regular forums are supported. I really wanted Television Without Pity too.
Oh well live and learn.

Same issue here. The onl temporary work around I've figured out seems the cursor shows about one line above where I want it.
I usually move my finger to one line below where I think the cursor should go and it ends up in the right place.
Definitely frustrating and an issue. Would imagine with the source code being public, this might be a simplier issue to work on the motion event and tracking points ... Hope to see this resolved too!
I just got this weird icon in my task bar (white square with two bent lines in it). I attached a picture. I have checked all programs for icons, nothing is in the drop down, I have gone to the "about me" in settings and checked for an update, none available.
Driving me crazy!
Anyone know what this icon is?

This is ridiculous. Not everyone is an expert in this phone. Get over yourself, and try being helpful instead of just an overall prick.
I get the idea of telling people to search, and that is totally understandable, but responses like this really piss me off. You were a "noob" once too.
OP, this icon indicates NFC is turned on in the software (Near Field Communications) as already indicated by scmlee.
To be more helpful than the post I quoted, you can take a screenshot with the Note 2 much easier than how you did it. Check out this video to how to do screenshots.

Perhaps. But guiding people, who managed to find their way to xda, to try and do some research on their own first, like searching or reading thread titles, empowers them to be stronger users. And it cuts back on the 20+ threads with the exact same topic and title.

It's called a statusbar. Taskbars are for Windows.
I kind of have to defend the OP here, as I had the very same question when I got the AT&T variant of the Note2. I'm hardly a newbie, but I've generally avoided the US variants of these phones (and that icon doesn't appear on any of the international firmware releases that I've seen.)
As for searching, what search term would you suggest? Without knowing that it relates to "NFC", there really aren't any good keywords to use that would narrow down the search. The message subject ("weird icon in the upper task bar") doesn't generate anything useful (other than this thread which didn't exist when the OP was made.)
If you get REALLY lucky, you might get just the right combination of keywords to hit a previous thread. For example, "strange icon notification" will hit the Q&A thread I made almost 2 months ago.)
About the ONLY thing I can fault the OP for is that this should have been posted in the device Q&A (and not the device General) section. That, however, is a pretty typical mistake and I've even been guilty of it on occasion.

Turn off NFC???? Not sure if there is a way to easily remove it permanently if that was what you were asking.
