[Q] Failed to unlock bootloader of Arc S - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!
I'm trying to unlock the bootloader of my arc s, but it always fails and gives an error.

Man,
As long as i can see it says that your phone's bootloader is already unlocked.

Say What!?
I thought that all xperia devices sold had their bootloaders prelocked.
Does this mean that can i install Doom Kernel via fastboot?
sorrry for bad english.

Mmm,Yes i think so.It show's you that it's already unlocked .So it cannot be locked

Turn off the phone.
Hold the menu button.
Plug in the USB cable.
If the LED turns BLUE, you're unlocked.
Otherwise, it's still locked.

Thanks!!
I successfully installed DoomKernel

Congrats man, glad i've helped .BTW i didn't knew that if you led turns blue that means it's unlocked, thanks for the info man.

was your arc bootloader unlocked when you did this?
When your BL is locked, just flash it via SEUS.
yes, bootloader was unlocked.
thank you for quick replys
There is a fix in the sticky's
For future only people who unlocked with setool can update via FOTA, SEUS and PC Companion.
Unless you relock your bootloader

edit: now that flash started but it tells me to turn debugging and uknown sources on... but how cause i cant turn that even on
edit2: after reading almost full sticky thread tried that xperia play firmware which someone said it worked, now when i try to turn it on green led blinks.. is my phone piece of junk now?
so anyone know what should i do? it wont turn on, green led blinks when i press power button, phone vibrates when i press menu button (to start fastboot).

[Q] How can I tell if my bootloader is unlocked?

Hi all,
I know, usual question, but in the configuration menu thing, it shows everything as zero, and says "Bootloader unlock allowed - yes"
I bought it new from a store, and it doesn't have any operator branding on it if that helps.
Your bootloader is locked until you unlock it. The phone does not come with the bootloader already unlocked unless you buy it second hand.

question i go to check if bootloader is unlocked it says nothing not yes or no??? stumped on this i have a xperia play 800at phone is sim unlocked too
If you have phone off, and hold on to either "back" or "search"(i cant remember which) and you plug in USB to computer and get blue light your bootloader is unlocked. I think its the "search" button, but I know the other button gives a greenlight and is fastboot mode where the blue light is flash mode.
Ios suckkss.

Other way around, flashmode (back) is green light. Fastboot (search) is blue light

y i can see the green and blue light
but are you sure it mean it is unlocked? If u are right it would be shocking since i didn't want to unlock my BL.
But I just rooted with SuperOneClick. And as far as I read it shouldn't touch the BL?
and: Fastboot is not = unlocked
Fastboot jst gives you the ability to unlock
Actually, if your light is blue it means you have access to Fastboot, so you can unlock your bootloader with that tool (which is free of charge). Unlocking it or not is up to you.
kool ill give that a try and see what happens you guys are the best thanks

if u want to know if you device CAN BE unlcoked - just follow the sony instrucktions
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instruction
just type the given numbers in the phone and follow service menu
But still my questions is - how can we see wether its unlocked yet?
All the above is just about the ABILITY to unlock and not the actualy state.
If you unlocked it, then its unlocked if you didn't then its not.
If you have a second hand phone or something then try flashing a custom kernel if its not unlocked it will fail. That's the only way I would know of to check.

If your bootloader is unlocked...the stock TrackID app will not work until u update it....if it gives an error then 90% chance ur bootloader is unlocked...
there is only one by which you can check wether your bootlader is unlock or not
this is only for sony mobiles
SEUS update,if the bootloader is unlocked you cant update through SEUS and vice versa.
bootloader question.
Sorry if this question has been asked i could not find anything in the search. I tried to root my xperia s a few days ago. i got the bootloader unloacked properly but i messed up the rooting part. After about 2 days of blindly faffing about i successfully re-flashed GB. Does doing this re-lock the bootloader? Is there an easy way of finding out? Cheers guys. There was alot of fumbling about trying to flash completely the wrong thing as i'm totally new to this phone!
Reflashing GB doesn't relock the bootloader. If you want to do that you'll have to flash it back with a file, this a thread to do that somewhere

Locked bootloader PRO was unlocked???

Alright, here's the thing... My mk16i has a locked bootloader... Even still i ventured to attempt unlocking it through test point method and s1tool.
Apparently all steps worked, the s1 boot thing is now reported with an lowercase letter (just as mentioned in tutorial) which got me pretty hyped up...
but I just seem to be unable to get into fastboot mode, I do get the blue led for like 2 seconds and then is changes to orange and cell phone goes to battcharge mode (black screen with big batt charging icon).
The only thing I have not tested is first flashing the stock rom... I dunno if having custom rom has something to do.
Any ideas?

You've not unlocked it properly.
Well... I spent more hours into this last night, here's what happened:
Apparently test point method and s1tool can unlock the bootloader, I got notifications from s1tool, flashtool and Omnius that my phone was already bootloader unlocked... BUT it seems that the real limitation for "bootloader unlock allowed: no" phones is that fastboot is disabled, and searching through all the forums I only found one post of someone stating that no dev has been able to enable fastboot on these devices.
So, I even restored (relocked) the bootloader with s1tool in order to now try Omnius.
The good news is, Omnius works... I really have no idea how it did it, but Omnius did unlock my "unlock allowed: no" phone, and it uses the same test point method... the bad news is that it required me to buy an "Android single unlock license" for 15 euros... so I really hope it will be worth it.
That's all.
Good luck everyone.

That happened to me also some time ago. I guess you probably locked the bootloader with a custom kernel. And if you had done it, try this
1) Unlock bootloader once again via fastboot it will work.

Yesterday i was have the same problem when relocked bootloader
- Now you need to update firmware via Update service on PC or flash official firmware via Flashtool and it will be with locked bootloader.
Thank you to all. I solve the problem flashing new OFW ftf 4.3 Update 15.4.A.0.23.
Now my bootloader is loked again and i lost ROOT access. But my Xperia M is now mor workable than ever
Can i flash 4.3 firmware on unlocked bl ?
Is it safe or
I have to relock it ?
And how (by flashtool will work)?
