As far as I know, no! The rooting via recovery is the best way of rooting (in my opinion). Easy, fast and no known issues yet.

There used to be an app(Gingerbreak) which could root the devices by simply installing an app and confirm the rooting. But it is no longer supported for later firmwares(as far as I know)
greets
THE-E
Thanks , will root via recovery

you can use this method to have complete CWM without rooting so you should be able to flash a flashable zip file.
follow it's steps, just dont flash super user. instead of it flash your theme.
even more you can root with this method, without changing custom binary counter. nad unroot if you want, and nobody will notice. It's super easy.

Its better to build this mod off of the stock tmobile note 2 policy.jar then use one from another carrier because they are different and may slow down your phone
works on my deodexed stock rom

Do it, and do it good. Oh yeah, do it.
Don't do it. It's a trap.

Yes SuperSU has the full unroot options but if you have deleted any bloateware you'll need to flash the stock ROM with Odin.
Good thread to get back to stock unroot.
