Boot keeps restarting :(

i was rooting my arc s and it was successfully rooted after that i wanted to install some custom rom on it, i tryed the Modded ICS one and installed there boot.img and now my phone just reboots after it shows the "XPERIA" logo
Please help im new at flashing )

So u have flashed boot but not rom?
U need to have the rom on your SD .
Turn off phone boot it up and when boot logo appears repeatly press back button (not sure if there's an indicater on that kernel or not)
This should boot cwm when in cwm make a backup
Select backup and restore then backup
When this completes wipe data ,clear cache and advanced clear dalvik cache
now select install zip from SD ,then choose zip from SD,then locate your rom file select it and hit yes when it finishes ,reboot and enjoy
Volume rocker moves up and down
And home or power button selects
If u can't get into cwm u have made a mistake flashing boot so reflash it before the above
Failing this return to stock by flash original fw thru flash tool
Plenty of tuts on that just search

if i flash doomlord´s kernel,it works,but every time that turn off the device, it loses all configuration settings.

using v20 ? if yes, try v19

try re-flashing the kernel and then re flashing the rom...
do a full wipe before u install the ROM..

is not the solution,i try several times,and always the same results.

Try:
1) copy your rom into sdcard.
2) flash your kernel under fastboot mode, then reboot.
3) keep press volumn button while rebooting, it should b under cwm screen.
4) wipe dalvik cache under advance
5) wipe data partition
6) factory reset, then reboot again
7) go into cwm screen again, then choose install zip frm sdcard, choose n run the rom that u copy into sdcard earlier. Reboot again after completed.
8) u shall wait for a while when restarting... Then should b ok....
U may try this, dunno whether work for u not.

Reminder:
For mooded ics rom, U must use ics stock kernel or doomlord ics advanced stock kernel, its run quite well for me...

I flashed my arc s last night with ICS Kernel with CWM Recovery and JJ's rom, had the same problem but as the above poster mentioned, wipe everything sorted out the problem.
Note: Just factory reset not enough you have to wipe everything

Hi, I've install USR rom after that, Im stuck on Samsung logo.. why? ive revert to stock dxle1 then try to install again.. same result.. :|

did you follow installation instructions as posted? same thing happened to me until i saw that i was suppose to do a wipe data and clear cache partition from stock recovery after installing the rom from cwm

ohh.. wipe data and clear cache partition from stock recovery. then install the rom using cwm.
i followed this steps
Instructions:
-Boot to cwm
-Do full data wipe and cache
-Install rom
-Wait till succesed(dont reboot)
-Choose advanced
-Chosse reboot recovery
-Do data wipe cache again then --reboot system
-Wait till u see the android logo -turnoff phone
-Enter recovery/cwm apply updatefx{icsblack}
but i got stuck on "-Do data wipe cache again then --reboot system" part. im stuck on samsung logo

Hi there , heres the step that u all probably forgot
After instalation rom from cwm recovry , go to
Advance / boot to recovry
And do wipe data and cache and then reboot bcoz if u strigthly reboot from cwm recovry after rom instalation im sure u will get bootlop , trust me .
Wait about 10 minute if u all do that tut carefuly im sure u will enjoy the rom

The rom is awesome . mine has 10-12 hour batry life with full internet . you can just use no frill app in the rom that have been add by evanlocked . And try this setting
Max : 624 mhz
Min : 312 mhz
Gavernor : interactive (optional you can explore it by ur self , use ondemand just if u wona play a game)
I / o : sio
Aply on boot : yes
And u can use the droidwall app to control ur intrnet conection coz this will degrease your data biling and btry live

yup,, those are the instructions i followed... yeah rom is good. scored higher in benchmark than when i was on repencis but i flashed back to repencis though... i dont know why but somehow i just prefer repencis but its still your own choice on what rom you want. i just give my opinion that i prefer repencis
edit: wait its intall rom from cwm 1st then wipe data and cache from stock recovery

Android logo means when phone gets boot up and then the setup wizard is come this is the logo in your screen is android logo. Not the logo is android logo like ^samsung galaxy y young s5360^
1. Do data wipe in stock
2. Go to cwm
3. Data wipe
4. Cache wipe
5. Install rom
6. Advance in cwm
7. Go stock recovery
8. Data wipe
9. Reboot
10. Setup widget (android logo with hand direction)
11. Switchoff
12. Go cwm not stock recovery
13. Flash update
14. Dont do data wipe just reboot.
15. Done

Edit: btw you cant remove the stock mms.apk otherwise you wont be able to recieve messages.. just change the icon of go sms

[RESOLVED] [Q] arc s problem

Hi guys, I just have a little problem (little ? ^^)
So, I rooted my xperia arc S, and then I tried to intall a new ROM Xperia purness rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737862 ). I followed the steps to do it, and it didn't reboot. It just displayed the bootloader with "SONY". Can I flash a firmware with flashtools and root it again ? I can't return to the recovery to restore my backup
Help please.

Ya sure u can flash stock os with flashtool & rerooted ur phone

just reflash the firmware and root it. Here's a rootable one
make sure in cwm before installation
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. go to mounts and storage menu and\
4. format /system
5. format/data
6. format cache
7. exit mounts and storage menu
6. go to advance
7. wipe dalvik cache
8. wipe battery stats
9. exit advance
10. install pureness from sd card without rebooting

I know, that's why you flash firmware I linked to you and install cwm and then access recovery

Okay, I'm downloading the firmware .587 to flash it BUT, I have a problem, my batery is not full.. and I can't charg it.. What can I do ?

is the charging problem coming from the cable or the actual phone? Try to charge with another cable and see if it charges normally

If u charge trough pc try direct ac charginging.

No, I'm at my grand mother with my dad and I forgot my cable. So My dad charged his phone this night and this morning I tried to install the ROM. (I know I'm telling you my life lol). And the problem happened this morning so I couldn't charg it. But I just flashed le .587 firmware. It's Okay. Tks very much

easy way to downgrade from cm9 to cm7.2

i have flashed cm9 un official just for look but now wnats to downgrade to cm7.2 ,,,i have wiped all my data dalvik chache n all the opions their in recovery but didn't got the solution ..after flashing never booting rom.what i have to do??plz guide..i searched alot but never got my solution !

after you did the wipes...... you did choose install zip from sdcard,navigate to the cm7 zip on your sdcard and confirm?
just wiping does not downgrade!! to cm7 you have to re-flash it.

yes.. after wipes i reflashed the rom but its not booting

have you set custom mtds? if yes remember to redo the bravo boot flash after install.
if you dont know what mtds are then it wont be that problem.
never used a cm9 rom so cant really help much more as im unaware of all the processes you go through but a full wipe and fresh flash should be sufficient. !!

i was making mtd partition throughout this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233340
there were two problems
1. .txt file was making .txt.txt by my mistake
2. and was making mistake in nanroid backup step...
i tried all the tutorial again word by word and in nanroid backup step i flashed a new rom and then follow the tutorial..and the problem was solved thnx yaar!!

I did -:
Placed the from package In my SD card
Went to CWM recovery
Wipe data/factory reset
Wiped cache
Install zip from card--selected zip and flashed
Then flashed gapps package
Wipe dalvik cache
Wipe cache
REBOOT
ENJOYED THE ROM AT FIRST BUT THEN I PUT MY CARRIER SIM IN PHONE.
INTERNET ISN'T WORKING .THEN I DISABLED DUAL SIM AND STILL 3G ISN'T WORKING EVEN 2G WORKS FOR 10 MIN.AND THEN THE internet sign is showing but net not working at all
..I rebooted again tried and 2g works for 10min and again same result.
Then I downloaded GENNEXT ROM PACKAGE..
Tried to flash it with full carefully instructions.
But when rebooted its still same CM12 ROM ..GENNEXT NOT FLASHED
TRIED AGAIN AND STILL SAME CM12 from
..
What should I do pls help pls pls pls

U can try one thing if u want, it may be risky but may work go to mount and unmount and in that mount System and then wipe so it shall remove currently installed ROM and then try installing a new ROM

No success
Here is what I did
Went to Cwm
Mounts and storage
Moun system
Format system
Flashed the gennext rom (with full correct instructions)
The phone stuck on grand duos name
Re flashed CM12
Now working but same problem with INTERNET

its giving u bootloop i think as u are using cm 12 and then trying back for kitkat or previous rom, wither try installing a kernel of that particular android or i would recommend using Resuruction Remix by RVR lolipop 5.0.2 Dual sim Version it works great and u should not have any old problems too.

Thanx but I changed my baseband (modem) and got probs fix and I will install RR rom ..
