I'm having problems that others don't understand me after calling a few minutes (> 10minutes mostly). They hear sometimes only beep.beep.beep.(like signial loss).
This makes the phone actually useless.
Tried downgrading radio to 1.65 series? Some have reported that older radios sometimes work better on android than the latest.

Upgrading radio using nbh method on android ? (camera+power+reset): edit:yes
I also only have always 3 out of 4 signal bars (on both kaisers, everywere).
- Rename radio ROM to "KIASimg.nbh" and place in root of SD.
- Boot into bootloader mode by powering off phone then booting by pressing power and camera buttons at the same time.
- Follow prompts to flash the radio ROM and reboot.
I recommend using an SD that is empty or has been backed up.

Too late...already did it (got 2nd phone to try).
Did it work?
With 1.65 I stil haven't 4 bars of signal.
Anyone having full signal on android with any radio (that's maybe the issues causing this) ?
What about the "beep beep beep".

Don't know, it's diffucult to test (need to talk for a while).
I've installed radio 1.58
no one gets 4 bars here?
Never had 4 bars on android, but what exactly does 4 bars mean?
Lets put it this way, it's a graphical representation of the received signal strength, ok, but what exactly is the scale, 0-100? 0-4? Db? It's just an indication, don't treat it as accurate in any way.
Where I work I am within 100M of a cell tower, and my signal meter never reads higher than 3 bars, on winmo it's 4, does this mean that using winmo means I receive a larger signal? I doubt it, I think it just means that the scale of measurement is different.
So don't worry about the signal meter.

thxs, what are your experiences when calling?
Is there a way to increase volume (market?)?
I've had no issues when calling, and for me volume is usually on the loud side, I normally have it set as low as possible, my radio is 1.70.xx from the latest htc stock rom.
I'm not sure that any problems you have with volume are software related, as far as my experience goes, speaker and headphone volume has always been rather high on Android.
I also had the beeps during a call the other day after installing Myn's Warm Eclair. It was the same sound you get when dialing a number using the on-screen dial pad but the beeps just came randomly whilst i was talking. The person on the other end of the phone couldn't hear it but i couldn't hear a word they were saying over the beeps. I need to play with it some more and see what was causing it.

I tried latest 1.70: sound volume is even less compared to 1.71
Anyway I've bought an HTC G1 (for 120eur= 140 dollar), I really need a good working phone that I can rely on (with android).
I've bought two kaisers in the past for 90eur each, I've learned a lot of android, but I want a build that I can use for a while.
Sometimes when I turn Bluetooth or wireless off/on I get less signial.
This is my first Gingerbread rom. I had been running Virtuous for months but it became unstable. Probably due to a bad app I loaded here or there.
With this ROM, my wifi signal drops off, then switches to 3g, then back again in a matter of seconds. This can be even when I'm a few feet away from my router. I've tried different radio's, but it hasn't helped.
Another issue I've noticed, and this appears to be mainly cosmetic, is related to the pattern unlock screen. I get a bunch of random characters at the top just under the time. Like '%1$2, %2$2 %3$2, $4$2 - %6$1.'
Anyone else have these problems? Is this the right place to mention it?
I've been noticing that my wifi does that also. Not sure why tho but it doesn't seem to affect anything at all so I never investigated it anymore.
My unlock pattern screen has those same crazy numbers and symbols also. Can't figure out what they're about:-\

I am using latest stable MIUI Scotland ROM and when I try to use any navigator, the GPS starts to search for signal but then stop, after a minute or so it starts searching again, and also when i get the location, sometimes the gps turns off (I mean that the icon dissapears from status bar and I lost signal)
I also have noticed this with Sense ROMs. I'm using latest radio.
Dos anybody knows what can cause that issue? I don't want to start changing the radio and testing id it's the problem; so if someone can guide me a little I'll ve very grateful
Anyone...?
Try using apps like GPS status and toolbox .

Have you tried reflashing the ROM? Sometimes this fixes issues like this.
Thanks, but GPS Status didn't resolve anything. The problem seems something like the app (either GPS status or any navigator) stops "calling" GPS to activate.
I've tried with different ROMs so reflash wouldn't help I think.
Hey guys!
I'm having a tricky problem right now... i hope it's no hardware fault
I am losing my connection to my network provider as soon as the screen goes off.
I noticed it when starting a call a couple of hours ago. I had full bars and as soon as i put the phone against my ear i lost my connection --> all bars down and grey.
The weird thing is, i can call somebody no problem as long as i dont let the proximity sensor let the screen turn off. This is the same case with mobile internet. As long as the screen is on ---> no problems. Screen Off --> Signal lost
I am on an ICS Rom (AOKP build 38) and had no problems with this rom for about a week. Just changed the Rom and noticed the problem and reverted back to my backup which was supposed to still be running fine.
I even reflashed the newest radio... still losing signal
Please tell me, i'm overlooking something and this is no hardware fault from me flashing...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Wow... problem solved. Flashed back to the rom that brought the problem (Elitemod). And now everything works again. Weird...
Hi. I have same problem. I flashed CM7 7.2 and it looses signal and mobile internet always when turn screen off. And it comes back right when screen turns on. WTF.. @_o. So that means at nobody canĀ“t call me. ****.

Hi,
Just check in power saver settings if you've opted for disconnecting data when screen goes off.

I have a strange problem.. I am getting full bars with my signal but still the battery stats is not showing that green colored line.
see the attachment. you will understand what I'm talking about.
with stock everything was fine except the battery was horrible but since i switched to custom roms and after flashing ARHD 7.2 rom, this issue has occured.
Not that it makes much of a difference but its weird.. and i am kinda scared if its some radio problem or something.. I switched to Renovate rom but still the issue is same. So is this something that i should be worried about?
signal strength -75dBm 19asu
anyone?
That's the same with my phone, I'm running ViperX Rom.
I know I've got good signal so it's nothing to be worried about
