Hi,
Whenever I use an AOSP ROM (ie; CM 7.1.0) with Doodle Jump, the game stutters really bad when the Doodle thingy guy is jumping off springs and trampolines. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix the stuttering game play with CyanogenMod 7.1 and Doodle Jump? The Sense ROM's don't seem to have this problem as much.
Regards.
Do you use software like setCPU or a script like vipermod to control your cpu speed and its voltage?

No, and all the "performance" settings are default.
Awesome, the latest update for Doodle Jump today fixes all the lag and freeze. Me happy.

Ok for me sense offer much more like HTC mail camera and gallery apps
I just tried cyanogen 6.1 opendesire and defrost and I found games are running better
For example angry birds is liquid smooth while asphalt5 and reckless racing frame rate is higher, no matter how much I clean my sense rom, disable rosie, similar free RAM and kill background processes even running OC in performance mode I can't get angry birds to run as smooth as it runs on cyanogen, there is always some slight stutter in frame rate while in cyanogen it ran at 60fps like it runs on iphone4
Is there some GPU patch in the latest ASOP, or I don't know framerate uncap and can we ever match their gaming performance? I also noticed they run at a higher screen dpi mode
Hi, i'm using the franco kernel r66 nightly with android revolution 10 rom 4.2.2, The newest one now. Oc'd to 1.5 ghz with 700mhz min and interactive governer and i'm experiencing lag in the game need for speed most wanted. I have no tasks open and it feels really really slow, 0.5x slower, like the timer in the top right counting up is choppy. How can i get the performance that youtube demos of this game on the gnex has? The videos on youtube, they're playing it perfectly but im not playing it perfectly.
bump. help?
Have u tried lean kernel?
Has anyone played Gangstar Vegas on Arc S without lag or other problem ? "Very low" visual quality gives lag free gaming experience, but can't see other people or vehicles. On "Medium" visual quality, the game lags so much... If "Low" is selected, everything goes black.Only the navigation and action buttons are shown.Have anyone faced it? Got any solution to play it well on xperia 2011 line ?

Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs are not good for gaming. Use Gingerbread, 4.0.2.A.0.62.

The best kernel FusioN made and the most stable for JB 4.1 ROMs, the 5.4. There are links everywhere, but if you want I can attach it to this message

Actually I doubt it will be possible playing Gangstar Vegas on medium settings with our Devices without any lag using any Rom.
Gangstar is damn big and got High Quality Graphics, but we must face the fact that the time will come where our phone will be pushed to the limits and simply has not enough power to run the game...
At least I´m sure that you won´t be able to play it on Good Quality Graphics and witout lag on our phones. :silly:
For best gaming performance I recommend the new Atomic GB 8.0.
Thank you all for your suggestions...But have you tested the game on JB or GB ? And why the "Low" quality graphics is not available for us? I mean everything goes black if low is selected...Only option "Very Low" or 'Medium" are available for us...!!

Soo.. you want a video of me running it lagfree or something? xD gangstar vegas isn't thaaat heavy graphic, I ran on decent settings gta 3.. :l You just have to get the proper ROM and proper settings, our adreno and snapdragon can do magic.

so your settings and rom are the one you´ve put in signature?
I still doubt that it looks at any way equal to the screenshots gameloft released in terms of graphic.
I can´t even select *High Quality" in Gangstar Quality settings, that says it all, unfortunatly

No, for heavy games and to run them lagfree, are the same settings but with the difference of 1.5 GHz.
edit the file profile.bin in the folder Android/obb/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftGGHM
like this
5 0 5 3 21
then launch the game, you can get the medium quality
If you want to use your phone for heavy gaming, I recommend you to use a GB based ROM like Atomic GB (best for UI) or XGAMER (best for performance) with a custom kernel like LupusGB or DooMKerneL ! Don't install RAM consuming apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. and keep your phone light ! If it continues to lag, try to overclock your phone (but it can be dangerous !) ! That's all folks !

yeah im running it on my Arc S without any lag on medium With 1.5GHz / ondemand / deadline....
see my signature
I don't get this,ok i get that lt18i is a bit faster than lt15i but with overclocking it can get there.
But i tried Ultimate HD and i tried Racing Bean 3.1 but non of these ROM's don't work with heavy games,GTA3 lags,Wild Blood multiplayer unplayable.gangsta rio lags like hell. And my RAM can't get higher than 200 mb and that's in his best days i mean if i have just maybe 10 apps installed. It's stupid to say that ICS/JB is better than GB in gaming, yes it's true ICS/JB looks so perfect and beautiful but now we have GB ROM's that looks like ICS or JB,here i'm using one it's called Atomic GB 8 and i can get 240mb Ram when i stop apps that are running, that's grate, and when i restart my phone and stop apps i can get up to 250-260 mb,and in combo with DooMKernel v22 ICS/JB don't stand a chance, the ROM doesn't look so much like ICS but it's getting there,if you want Jelly Bean look, there is Gin2JellyBean,but didn't try that ROM myself so i don't know what to tell about it.I didn't try this game yet on my Arc lt15i with Atomic GB 8 ROM but i will.I don't have very big hopes for it but hey...
I'm currently playing a lot of Pokemon GO and wanted to decrease the game resolution so that I can underclock the GPU and try to reduce temps. Just wondered if there was something with similar functionality as the Game Optimizer that LG had built in.
I'm running on Resurrection Remix 5.7.1.
Thanks.
The homescreen is quite noticeably not a smooth 60fps, it stutters and with the overlay enabled in developer settings, can see the framerate drops alot. Especially in freestyle layout mode. Also a lot of games stutter and don't run at a smooth framerate - for example monument valley. Does anyone else get this? Im on stock rom latest update

This is completely dependent on your OS, applications, widgets on screen, running apps, cpu state and the speed you're using your device.. If its really congested and you're running a tonne of apps then you'll perhaps have some slow downs, if you're using a custom kernel and you've lowered the up cpu threshold then that will too have an impact, honestly I'd leave it on stock and minimise the amount of widgets (especially lives ones) you have on your desktops, anything with transparency will have an impact too.
Gaming wise, I have to say this phone is rock solid.
The only game that it couldn't run is dolphin which is a gamecube emulator, running zelda the windwaker.
But I think that's down to optimization rather that anything else.
What set up do you have? Custom rom? Stock? Kernel? Lots or not a lot of apps?
my runs smooth on games, emulators, home screens, videos, taking and recording pictures and video, everything. ive been very happy with its performance, completely stock and running custom roms on my Verizon Variant, viper is my favorite now after last few updates.
I'm also satisfied with my HTC 10 performance, runs smooth (everything stock), but I notice that some games are a bit laggy (like Realracing 3, even if I lower the resolution to FullHD in the Boost+ app).
I wonder if I would get better framerates with the CleanSlate kernel that has Adrenoboost feature, but I'm not to keen on rooting my device because then you can't install OTA updates anymore.
Im running on the stock rom straight from the box, no custom rom or everything
, every game I have tried so far runs awful, massive framerate drops with or without boost. I have compared my framerate in asphalt 8 to this video, with an fps counter, and I get much worse framerates, usually around low 20s, dropping to teens. I don't have powersaving enabled

Anything in HTC's ROM seems to cripple Adrenoboost of the GPU. While on other devices it works perfectly and is reaching up to 60 fps, it doesn't on the HTC 10. It doesn't bother me, as I'm not a heavy gamer, but if you're in need to change it, you could use a custom kernel, as e.g. CleanSlate by @tbalden.

I hope HTC fixes that with some OTA.
Anyway, would the High performance mode in the developer options help the framerate?

As I'm on Viper10, Stock, pnp thermal tweak, or Viper 10 and CleanSlate Kernel. So I can't tell if it would work. The CleanSlate kernel fixes the problem quite well, so I'll use it until HTC maybe fixed the issue as long as I'm gaming and the other config I'll use as my daily driver.

Can anyone that has no custom rom test the framerate on the first map of asphalt 8 and report back?

Do u use sd card
If yes which class, coz i noticed that it can slow the device
I hope htc support team improve the performance and fix the lag issues by updates.
This is an awful bug .May htc solve this in the android 7 update .
Slow SD card like someone else said.
Try it without one.
Maybe your hardware is faulty in some way.
Also try to set all clocks to a constant maximum. So you see if you have the power or not.
Maybe a fake device?
