Incipio Silicrylic Incredible 2 Case?? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I found this on Amazon, and was wondering what you guys think about its quality. I currently have an Otterbox Defender, and I'm kinda wanting to downsize. Anyone have any experience with Incipio cases??
Sent from my Mikrunny'd Superphone using Magic (TapaTalk)

I have that exact case, and I love it, even comes with a new screen protector that's very nice... I had an otterbox, but I hated how bulky it made my phone... this isn't nearly as bulky and gives the phone a good deal of protection as well... I currently alternate between this and an Incipio Feather case depending on what I'm doing and how much protection the phone needs.

Awesome. I'm also wanting to keep my otterbox but I know the screen protector gets in the way of the one in the otterbox. (experience with zagg invisibleSHIELD). Could I just take the screen out of the otterbox to use the one that comes with the incipio and pop the OB on whenever I needed it??
Sent from my Mikrunny'd Superphone using Magic (TapaTalk)

Yes you can i removed the screen shield out of mine an use a aftermarket one. My wife has the incipico case like that on her phone seems very good if you want to down size.

I think I'm sold.... Now I'm trying to decide if I want the black/black one or the white/gray one......
Also, has anyone bought that one from that link?? If so does that pack come with the screen protector?? If not which ones do you use??
Sent from my Mikrunny'd Superphone using Magic (TapaTalk)

Hey - question for people who have this case.
Is the inner layer pure silicone? Could you cut the back out to accomodate the extended battery? I have had a really hard time cutting up TPU, but I would gladly try to cut silicone. That seems much better.
If anyone has one of these and wants to sell, that would be AWESOME. I would love to see if I could just cut the back out for the extended battery and use this case like a bumper.
So - anyone who owns this case, would that work or am i crazy?
p.s. i am actually crazy so if you could speak just to the idea rather than to me and my own crazy, that would be super.

The inner silicone ripped for me. I didn't do anything weird to it, and only had it for about 1.5 months. I don't really recommend it.

Could it have been a lemon maybe?? I mean it looks good. I know someone has one for their iPhone and it seems pretty solid.
I was thinking either this one or the commuter.
Sent from my Mikrunny'd Superphone using Magic (TapaTalk)

I like the look of the case (I have the white/grey one), but the silicon is super flimsey and cheap. I believe it would rip. I use that case very infrequently, and didn't like the screen cover.

Hmmmmmmm.... What are some other recommended cases?? I looked and I'm not sold on the otterbox commuter. I want a similar case, but with durability and reliability.

My personal preference has lied with the Seidio Surface case for a long time. Thin, Sleek, and Tough. Saved my Eris and DInc2 from many many falls and borderline throws.
I don't like anything with silicon. Always too floppy. Bulky cases are too bulky. TPU never fits like I want it to.

Looks like the active has silicon, so I have immediate reservations about it because of just that. But I have never actually touched one, so I don't know if it is the usual floppy stuff; which by the way many say attracts lint like a magnet, but my experience hasn't been quite that bad.
I think it looks like a variation of the silicrilic one mentioned earlier. So I won't be spending my money on it.
If you do end up with one of these, I hope you let us know what you think of it.

I had this case break on me too after about 6 months of use..the top corner of the hard plastic broke off by the power button (It broke wile i was pushing the power button just like I normally would). I carried the phone in my jeans pocket and it was sometimes difficult to pull out. The silicone eventually seemed to get stretched out on the bottom from pulling it out, and it attracted lint like crazy. I would recommend this case if you were going to carry it in your pocket a few times, or if you would put it in a leather holster or something of that nature.

Mine actually just broke this past weekend. The plasic shell by the volume rocker cracked. Not sure how either. Ive used silicrylic cases on my past two blackberries and loved them but i dont like it the same on my dinc2. Incipio is really good about replacing their failed cases tho. If you care to ship your broken case back to them, they should have no problem replacing it for u.

Tyler I wrote a review of the Surface which you can find here with pictures: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107381
I loved it while I used but ultimately went without a case after a few months. I just started to prefer the feel of the phone without the case.

What are your guys thoughts on the Incipio Feather case?

Love the case switching from a sedio active case that took some damage after a fall lol. This is a little bigger but much more stylish and offers more protection. Cyanogen mod + blue case + cyanbread theme = matching phone and case. Sick

Yea it would pop off, and you could put it back on (it wasn't designed to come off). I would personally like my kickstand to stay in its... I guess it would be a socket of some type?
But yea, you get it.
I bought this case mostly because I don't have a desk job so I don't have a nice, safe place to put my new Evo. I had a BodyGlove for the Hero and that did the trick but the Evo is much larger and more expensive . Yea, it made it a beast but it's cheaper than 500 bux. It did come with a holster that keeps the screen to your inside, it comes with a screen protector and the front cover has one as well. There's also covers for the camera and LEDS built into the back. The kickstand though, that's a pos. With a little cutting I'm sure the stock kickstand would poke through just fine but it appears it may lean the phone back too much. 27.95 with free shipping:

Just realized this says "SC" case and I have the "HC" case. Ehh, whatever though. It's basically the same case just the HC one is definitely for those that have accidents with their devices. Not only that I paid less for the HC then they advertise the SC one for so that's another plus. Personally, I like it but if you don't have large hands you may find this a little cumbersome to deal with everyday.
After about 3 weeks with my Ballistic HC I could not be happier. This is by far the best case on the market for strength, looks, and durability. I have not had a single issue with my kickstand. I had read all the comments so I grabbed my kickstand and vigorously pulled and shook it. It did not budge one bit. Either it was redesigned or some of you are absolute cavemen lol. I'm assuming Ballisitic took care of the issue with a redesign

Tough time deciding on Tough case

Let me first say I know that there are many different threads on this topic and if there is a few I should view please point me in the right direction as I am new to the forum.
The type of case I am looking for is ultimate protection bulk does not matter.
Things I am looking for are: a front hard screen protector like the otterbox defender and ballistic maxx
A kick stand would be great as I am doing more media
The 3 cases I am looking at are
Otterbox Defender I have heard great things about but I prefer the silicone on the inside, hard case on the outside I think that would offer more protection.
Ballistic Maxx Good looking product but no kickstand and I had one on my EVO and was not pleased with the quality but that was 2 years ago.
Seidio CONVERT I really like the protect level and kickstand but no hard screen cover.
Any other cases I should be looking at?
Any input would be much appreciated Thanks.
Trident Kraken.... But no hard screen cover. Comes with a soft replaceable one. Had a removable metal kick stand, different color cases, silicon on the inside plastic on the outside. Also you can order a few different attachments that connect to the back of the case hence the removable kickstand.

Capdase case is slim fit. Although it is not as good as the protection offered by the Ballistic case, but it is slim fit and with a free screen protector in it. Worth trying!!:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
I went with the ballistic maxx but there is no way I will use the provided screen protector. It creates a terrible sparkle effect and in my opinion wasn't even usable. I love the case though, it is easy to install/remove and protects the phone very well. The buttons are nice and the case doesn't get in the way of using the phone.
I bought a X-Gear Spectre glass screen protector and think it works well with this case. See my comments in that thread here:

There are some small issues with this product but I still think it is the best currently available.

Im going to have to disagree. First lets not forget while inside the hard case your phone is also resting on some type foam cushioning that Otterbox adds inside its hard plastic. I also prefer the silicone on the outside of the case cause if you do drop your phone, your case wont get digged up. I have replaced cases cuz they gotten scuffed up after a while. Also when dropping a phone it makes such a harmless sounds when it lands on the silicone. You won't even flinch when the phone drops you'll just pick it back up and just keep on truckin along.

I understand looks are a matter of opinion.
But how does it lack corner protection? There is big thick soft silicon on the corners... I have one and it's already survived a 7 foot drop and being kicked down a hall way.
And the defender's kickstand is the holster itself as where the kraken is a metal one attached to the case itself.... so with the defender you have to take the whole thing off your belt.

that video was not a real phone. It was a plastic or foam one. The few drops I've had every thing has stayed together.
But falling apart isn't a bad thing either, it's a way of dissipating the shock force.
The inner silicone layer is great protection as well.

I know when I had one for my Evo 3D there was a flap you had to open.
Let me know how the seidio case works out. I am not really concerned about screen protection in a case anyone as I plan on using the xgear spectre.

The Seido Active is a nice case except for a couple things.
The volume buttons were a pain to press on mine (others say they don't have a problem).
The case has indentations on the sides that I thought would make it super grippy. But it's actually a little slippery.
The kickstand only works in landscape mode.
With that said, it's a great looking case that is easy to take off and put back on. And available for $27 shipped on eBay (as of last week).
Ok search narrows as I stated before I plan on using the xgear spectre screen protector.
Now just to figure out is the kraken the only heavy duty case with a kickstand?
I took a few second look at the kraken and it in fact has thicker corners than I previously thought. So definitely liking it more.

I would say skip on the body glove adds a good amount of thickness... If anything check out the d3o sold at tmobile stores, it's rubbery but dust or lint won't stick to it cause I keep it in my pocket and it adds little bulk, still slim, múltiple colors to chose from goes for 24.99... Loving it only thing a pain to remove so make sure you won't be removing it a lot also the thick of some chargers have to be forced in but nothing crazy....

i have to disagree with the d3o case. IMO,they are absolute junk. i actually ended up buying the white body glove after a few months of use. i was tired of having to push hard on the power button just to get a response. Using the D3O case overtime, i noticed the power button recessed in and was super sensitive to the touch. The white Body Glove has little-to-none button resistance.
Plus my over-the-ear-headphones would never fit in the headphone jack. yes you can use something with a skinnier 3.5mm jack, but i'm not willing ditch nice cans.

No, but I know what you mean. The back is made out of 2 types of materials. One on side of the S, there is plastic like you would put on a couch as a covering. On the other side of the S, there is a really soft and smooth rubber. Nothing sticks to it. Check out this thread for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1885042

saw your vid and cant say the video makes me feel comfortable dropping my phone in it.
From the links the OP posted i would go with either the fishbone, or the body glove. the body glove is on my sisters s3 and feels great.

What is a good protective case that won't stick to my pocket?

I'm looking for a case that offers some drop protection, but won't add a lot of bulk and won't stick to my pocket. Now I have a tpu case but I don't think it has much drop protection. Is there any bumper case that just go around the edge like the iPhone bumpers?
Thanks

i got mine from ebay a while ago, its a hard plastic . Works great and since it not rubber it wont stick. SOrry cant find a link as ebay is blocked at work :/
Ok, I'm looking for something that would also have shock/drop protection, something like the speck candyshell would be perfect, but they don't make it for this phone, maybe someone know of a similar case?
Here's the case I have now

I have that exact case and this case...
http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Hybrid-Compatible-Samsung©-T-Mobile/dp/B007NF7AV2/ref=pd_sim_cps_3
this one offers great protection but its very bulky... and doesnt slide in and out of your pocket well

That looks like a good option, I'll probably get either that or this, they look almost the same, does anyone know if the back outside of this case is rubber or plastic?

The back is plastic. That's the same exact case I got for my sisters One S, even the color, lol. And I have a similar blue one only the corners are thicker rubber. We got them so my nephew wouldn't damage our phones throwing them around. It will go in a pocket just fine if the pockets are roomy. Tight jeans might be a hassle.
Edit: Just checked the amazon link and that's the same one I have only in black. The only difference between that one and the green one is the plastic texture on the back. And the silicone corners layer is thinner on the green one, which annoys my sister as it stretched out and now the top and bottom is loose around her phone, whereas the thicker one I have holds tight and firm.
Hope that helps.

Ok sweet, I'm stuck between that case or the D3O Flex Gel Hard case, does anyone who has the d3o know if it has good drop protection? In the end I'll probably end up buying both because they're so cheap haha.

Well the d30 technology is made for impact protection(it's used in helmets, safety gear, etc) but I've never personally used it. I can verify the two piece plastic/rubber case I have definitely protects against drops, but with corners like that how could it not, lol. My phone straight up bounces when I drop it.
I've had 2 d3os, the one that was hard plastic on the back (99% of then crack) and the one that is all hard rubber. The buttons are really hard to press on either, and i think it led to a malfunctioning power button because i was pressing so hard. Great protection and doesn't come off easily. If you drop it face down i think it will protect it

The Beast from Evo claims this newfound Hybrid Armor can protect one's jewels from being thrown over 50 pes. I am very much so obliged to agree with this monstrous beast! His personal guarantee is written in stone as well.
I'm happy with my D3O case. Haven't had any major drops but it provides a nice grip when holding the phone so it's not as slick as the phone when it's naked.
