[Q] how to change the font on andoird 4.0 - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

how to change the font on andoird 4.0 rom is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1403113
if i change the roboto.ttf i can't reboot my cellphone.

You could try putting other fonts in the font location then use an app like font changer (if it works)

[FONT] ICS Robot Font |All versions|

Folder include roboto fonts in various formats in .ttf format as seen here http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/roboto
Use font changer to apply your favourite. Tested and working 100%. You can use Acheps ICS Theme and Layouts for your CM7.x Rom to give you the "complete" ICS Look. I know that other users have posted similar threads but for some reason the ones I posted look better especially when not using english language. Just try them out!
NOTE: Using Font Changer from Market you can change your stock rom (must be rooted) or CM7.x ROM default system font!!!
TUTORIAL: Unzip Roboto Fonts Folder to your sd card. Install fontchanger (root). The copy all .ttf roboto fonts to .fontchanger folder on your sd. Open fontchanger. You can just to basic and choose the one you like or go advanced and specify the one you want for each system font (clocktopia, droid-sans bols, droid-sans).

[Q] Problem!Help Plz!

I am using a theme a stock rom and after sometime i am go back my default the by flash with cwm.
But i can get my default font style!
how to i back my original fon style
If its the default inbuilt font of the ROM you cant backup it but you can note the font name and download it again by settings->display->screen display->font style ..note the font name and install it..
If its the user installed font (you installed it) then use titanium backup to backup the font you installed (note the font name from above)

Reverting back to roboto fonts from droid sans -- jellybean

Hi,
After updating gnex to jellybean(unlocked boot + rooted), I installed a unicode font to read my language(it's based on droidsans) using this application(Tamil Unicode Font -Donated)(i can't post link as i'm a new user)
it has a backup option which backed up my old font. Now I want to revert back to fonts that came with jellybean(roboto condensed?).
This application had a restore option that didn't work. I tried several applications like font changes, font installer etc... but none of them changed my font back.
How can i switch back to original stock fonts(roboto in jellybean) without losing any data?
Thanks
Try the ROM toolbox app in the playstore. It's for free. It has a menu to change the system font, and many other customizations. Hope this helps.

[Q] Changing default locksceen wallpaper

I am trying to change the default lock screen wallpaper on my Rom. I swapped out the new wallpaper, for the old one located in: system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/hdpi and, xhdpi, but the lockscreen remains stock!?
How can I change this so the stock wallpaper for the lockscreen, is my own custom wallpaper right from the get go (after setup) ???
What ROM are you on? This would help since I know SOME ROM developers changed a setting so it doesn't pull it from the framework-res.a pk but rather a wallpaper folder instead. Pull apart the whole ROM zip file and see if there is a WALLPAPER folder. If I remember correctly in the ROM I am thinking about it will be found at /system/wallpaper and not /system/framework-res folders.
Here you can test out this VR Theme format to test. It will ONLY change the lockscreen wallpaper and the homescreen wallpaper IF you have the same file structure. If you don't it won't change anything.
If it does change them to a Dark Blue picture then you can unzip the file I am linking, and switch out WHATEVER pic/s you want. Just make sure to use roughly the same size pic and rename them to match exactly. Hope this helps. Let me know if it doesn't change anything. Link http://db.tt/MUw2Ot7m
Also like I said before it WILL depend on WHAT ROM your using and WHAT firmware.

Click to collapse
It's in framework-res apk under default_wallpaper and default_lockscreen_wallpaper. I believe it also is in system UI if I am not mistaken. I know I had to change it in two different APK's to get to default to a certain wallpaper when installed.
