Thread Closed - Xoom Accessories

Evening all.
As the Xoom 2 and its variants do not yet have a dedicated forum, could all threads relating to the Xoom 2 have a [XOOM 2] Tag added to the thread title.
This will firstly avoid confusion to the original Xoom users and Xoom 2 users alike.
And, will enable a speedy transfer of all Xoom 2 related threads to the relevant section.
An example of a thread title follows.
[XOOM 2] Tips & Tricks .....
For threads that are only relevant to the Xoom 2 and variants and that do not contain the tag could users post a link to the thread here & I will add the tag manually, once added I will remove the link.
Many thanks for your co-operation.

.☆.☆.☆. Section Rules .☆.☆.☆. - Updated March 29th - PLEASE RE-READ
Further to the pre-existing Dev section rules listed below, a couple of new rules.
Firstly, when starting a new ROM thread, can Devs please start a 'companion' thread in the Q&A section?
In doing so, it makes it much easier to separate genuine feedback (bug reports, fixes etc) from the other crap (thanks, 'downloading now!' and so on).
A couple of recent threads have become inadvertent test grounds for these new, stricter rules:
CM7 T989 Kang with bug fixes
And
Rom skyrocket ics port sgh-t989
And as I'm sure we can all agree, the threads are significantly cleaner which makes it much easier to find the useful information, both for Devs and downloaders alike.
Whilst we're on the subject, I'd like to thank both eugene373 and Racing19969 for having been our unsuspecting guinea pigs in all this.
NB - please only do this for new ROM threads, it's just too much work to try and sift through the hundreds, if not thousands of posts in pre-existing ROM threads and sort between posts that should be in the Dev thread and posts that should be in the companion thread.
With that in mind, I'd ask RDs to consider starting new threads for their next releases instead of updating existing threads, that way the new split system can be implemented from a fresh start.
Secondly, can everyone please be more vigilant in terms of reporting posts that not appropriate for the Dev section?
We Mods can only do so much, we need the help of everyone here - in particular RDs, if you see your ROM threads going off-topic/getting cluttered, please report the post(s) and lock the thread so that it doesn't deteriorate before a Mod has a chance to intervene.
Hopefully, with everyone doing their bit we can get this section tidied up.

Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Extra emphasis on rule #12
12. Using the work of others.
If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails then you may contact a moderator with clear evidence that the work was created by you.
Convincing evidence will result in copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence you created the work then in the spirit of sharing all work will remain posted on the forums.
These rules apply to all software posted on XDA unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules.

All ROM / MOD / DEV / etc... found in the DEV section not created by the DEV themselves does not qualify as a development, and it'll be moved to General, it should be properly tag as [INFO] or [REF], with links to the source website were it was found
Please keep all non Development relevant chatter off the DEV project topics, feel free to create a new topic in General for non Development comments about specific ROM / MOD / THEME / etc... valid replies within a DEV project are: BUG Reports, Problem, Troubleshooting Steps & Logs.
... and Please! keep all your personal bickering via PMs, do not pollute the forum with your personal indifferences.
If you have a problem with a specific member please contact the Moderators for help, that's what we're here for, but we are not babysitters, we are here to gather, organize and provide useful information for our over priced phones

Improve Search @ New Thread Creation

I would like to suggest a possible enhancement for the forums:
Problem: When I'm creating a new thread, for example under SGSII section, I get suggestions for already existing topics from all other sections first, not from the actual subforum you are posting in. I've tried typing in a thread title from the first page of the SGSII general discussions, and it didn't suggest it. But it was right there.
Proposed solution: Modify this automated search to fetch results from the current subforums first, for the device, in which's section I am posting. Usually new posters want information for their specific device, not from all random devices he might never even heard of. This would help reduce the number of duplicate discussions and questions, which are very common in that specific subforum, but not just there.
Thanks for your time.

+1 to this, while creating my cm9 thread I had suggestions - all of em linked to the other devices' thread - would be better if it looked for the same in the device's sub-forum first

Unable to post threads on XDA

I recently built DerpFest OS unofficial for Redmi 6 pro and wanted to upload it in development section ,as I made thread and hit upload, it prompted me with "To prevent spam, you must have a higher post count in order to make a new thread in this development section. But feel free to make new thread in the non-development sections like General, Q&A, etc. Thanks for your understanding!"
So I gone to General section and thought to upload there. Still it gives me this:
"To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!"
Now what should I do XD
