[Q] ICS Boot Animation When a call comes in. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I know there are applications that allow videos when a call comes in. Is it possible to get the ICS boot animation when a call comes in? I think this would be pretty neat. Most likely battery draining but I just like the thought. Is it possible? Share some insight.

I'm assuming you mean something like this?

There are... but none have been ported for use on the Epic. You can use CM7 and it will give you all the options for different lock screens which in turn will change your incoming call screen.
Other than that, I don't know of any that will work for the Epic.
yea im using midnight rom atm. thanks though. hopefully something will come about.
not sure if this is what you meant, but there are a few dialer replacements on the android market.
The ones that come to mind are:
Go Contacts (seems to be popular lately)
TakephONE
Dialer One
EDIT: I just actually read your post.. and sure these don't have any affect on (during) call screen. but, fwiw.
yea not actually what im looking for but those programs are nice. go contacts i think im actually gonna use just cause i like it. thx

[SOUND] S2 stock sounds

Hi all,
I probably get scolded for this but anyway. One of the notification sounds on stock, postman, is my favourite for incoming mail. So I was a bit disappointed when I couldn't find it in cm7. So I tried searching and although I found lots of sound pack with all sorts of sounds and claiming they had the s2 stock sounds. They didn't. Several of the other sounds where there but not the postman sound. I finally thought I found it in a collection from a samsung fascinate but it sounded different.
For another reason I had to go back to stock for a moment and this was a good opportunity to collect these sounds. And after all this I could image somebody else having the same or similar problems. So here they are:
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
I was actually looking for the Samsung Galaxy S 1 sound 'Postbox'. Found the SGS stock sounds here (if it will help anyone else):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077596
could i pack them again with modified sounds to look like the stock sounds ???
Yeah sure. Sorry for the late response. Haven't been watching the forums recently.
thank you very much. wanted to start a new thread but it suggested me this thread now running ics on sgs with good old tones.
thank you very much for sharing

Thank you! I was looking everywhere for the Postman notification that I lost when updating to a newer Cyanogenmod.

Maybe a stupid question... but why not just add to the existing reviews thread rather than create a new one?

Not a stupid question at all, I'll bare that in mind next time.
Great review. Of all the things discussed in your review and on the forum the only one that concerns me is battery life. It seems to be getting better but using the same apps the same way I did with my SGS2 I'm getting about 30% less battery life and that's with a larger battery.
I know skins like Sense are a hot button on XDA but as SoC power rises the the performance drain is becoming less of an issue. My personal view is that I use my phone to get things done. Having a phone that's faster than everyone elses in benchmarks is secondary. I've been using Sense 4.0 for a week and I've really come to admire the work HTC's done with it. Here's some examples of subtle things they've done to improve productivity.
- The productivity lock screen is brilliant. The ability to see incoming notifications (and scroll through them) without having to unlock the phone is a great idea. As is being able to go directly to them via the ring.
- When sending a rejection text to an ignored incoming caller, Sense creates a task to remind you to call them back.
- Integrating third party music players in to the Music Hub and displaying them full sceen on the lock screen so you can control them is also a nice feature.
There are some faults too.
- No voice dialer to enable BT calling. Seriously?
- No LinkedIn connector for the FriendStream. Come on, it's 2012 and they just IPO'd.

xdaman,
Great review for the HOX. The night photos are not great and the last one wasn't in-focus. I think HTC needs to fine tune the night settings for better performance. What firmware are you running on the tested HOX? Did you have any screen flickering? Any of the common bugs?
Thanks.

retro screen off animation?

I don't know why nobody seem to care about this as I have searched for this question without any helpful results, maybe Galaxy S is simply too old?
So I was just wondering if it is possible to get a screen off animation like the retro CRT effect on the Nexus S. I think it makes the transition much more comfortable than simply turnning off.

I'm sorry but I can't see the point in this, what does it matter what's showing on the screen when you're turning the handset off?
I'm not knocking the fact that you want to have the animation, if I could help you out I would. I just think it's completely unnecessary XD

It's no more unnecessary than a boot animation or any other mod for that matter however in answer to your question such a mod is currently not available for the One X.

there r many guides which can help u to manually enable the CRT-animation.
u'll need adb and text editor to make changes to the framework-res.apk

[Q] Need Help Identifying a JB Feature

So there's a lot of bloated useless features in JellyBean, but I found one last night by accident. I was watching a video and there was a little icon that looked like a "pop-out", I pressed it, and all of the sudden the video on my phone was being broadcast through my XBOX 360 and was on my living room television! It was really freaking cool, considering I didn't configure either device to do anything. To just press a button and see the video on my phone playing on the big screen TV.
The problem is I don't know what this feature is called. I'd like to learn more about it so I can configure it and perhaps use it on other devices. Has anyone else seen this or know what it's called?
Its called all share.

Holy crap that was a fast response! I appreciate it!
