stable CM9 is not available yet

ok I will new on this site...thx for help

I tried Sandvold's ICS with full HWA (hardware acceleration) for few days, but then switched to Euroskank CM7. ICS is still beta and I experienced a lot of reboots. But those guys are heroes for me and I believe they will bring stable and smooth ICS to our Desires in upcoming months!

As pointed out by rootSU there's the BCM Rom. I use that one for about 3 weeks now and it's quite stable. There are some issues with the camera in RC2.0 but in 0.3.7 it kinda work. Also some people, including me, have issues with calendar sync but there are fixes for that problem.
BTW there's a list of roms for the desire here.

I use ICS by Sandvold and it's going to be stable soon I think.

[Q] htc evo with ICS

can some body give me a download link for the most stable ice cream sandwich rom for the evo, with just about everything working on it, i want to use it as a daily driver but i dont wanna flash a bunch of roms to my phone to find the right one, so can some one help me out
...go to the dev section. AOKP or gummy worms rom.
http://forum.aokp.co/
I have tried AOKP, MazWoz, deck (running now), gummyWorms, and all of them have different problems, I find decks PB 5 to me most stable for me, but it doesnt have camera preview, I think he is the only one with HWA partially working but could be wrong. Other 3 did not play good with my phone, had a lot of random reboots. you can find all of them in developer section, read through and you can see what works and what doesnt
I'm currently using swipers ics miui build, it's a great daily, just no camcorder and netflix video still won't load which is a bummer for me.. but anyways I have a feeling you're looking for a base ics build in that case AOKP or mazwoz for sure..
swipers miui V4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493631
EDIT: Gummyworms is BY FAR the most stable ICS rom I've used so far on my evo, I just flashed it last night after I posted this, and wow!! the only fc is when I try to use FFC which of course wont work on evo ics builds until HTC wants to release a driver ( i still had to be a dumb dumb and try it out anyways lol)

[POLL] Which ROM do YOU feel is best for everyday use

PLEASE READ BEFORE VOTING: Just wanted to see what the general consensus was about which ROM is best for everyday use, and for new guys trying out a new ROM, this is a good starting point on what to try first. I agree, most ROMs update often (sometimes daily!) and even though one update may break a thing or two, the general usability of that ROM usually maintains the same.
Now, when voting for this poll, remember to take account usability in an everyday environment, not full-fledged feature comparison. Some ROMs can't record 720p and most ICS ROMs have no (not even partial) HWA and can't use video camera. But these things are things most of us can live without. So when voting, please take into account the basics: If the phone works, if messages work, if you can use Wi-Fi properly, if 3G works, if phone reboots too often or not, if the ROMs runs stable and smooth or if it lags and locks up, battery life, photo camera works or not.
After taking into account usability, take into account features. For example, if you feel there is a CM9 ROM that runs as stable and usable as another CM7 ROM, choose the CM9
Please vote for ROMs you personally have tried, and not for ROMs you "heard" work well. More than one choice can be selected because you may feel more than one ROM was working well enough to be used daily.
Note: I started making the poll including only CM variations, and decided to include other ROMs in the mix (which I'm not sure are based off of CM material), so I just decided to leave CM7 for any Gingerbread based ROM and CM9 for any Ice Cream Sandwich based ROM
DISCLAIMER: This is by any means no reason to diminish some developer's work, but is instead intended for the average guy who doesn't have all day to be flashing new ROMs everytime a new build comes out.
Nice of you guys to vote, but unless someone posts anything, this thread will just get forgotten.. So I'll take the plunge...

I dont know why CM9 is getting many votes... is not good for every day use yet. Though is nice to experiment but is not stable enought.

Well, Quark's GB CM9 is my daily ROM. It is pretty stable AND usable since 0805 if you blacklist HWUI for some apps.
I really don't see any point why I should go back to stock or CM7.
Considering the rules of poll:
1-CM7
2-MS2Ginger
3-CM9
Since 0805 cm9 i think I'll never come back to a GB rom

CM7 - Euro Skank
Quarx-cm9 from May 11... seems very stable.
I'm using the quarx 120506 (May 6th) and it's pretty stable.
I was having some issues with previous CM9 versions from Quarx and Epsylon, like Bluetooth issues, crashing apps, slower camera, reboots and so on.
This is with no doubt the best CM9 so far (i didn't tested yet the versions from days 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 (may)).
When I have time I'll update to 11th may version to see what have been improved.
I´ve started trying ROMs since i did my register, and that´s a few things i could say about ´em
Gigglebread´s builds of CM7 are the best for me in terms of daily use.
- fast
- stable
- well customized
(i can´t remember of any bug or FC in a little while since i started using it)
120508_v2 Defy+ Quarx´s build of CM9 are the closest of a daily use ROM of all the ones i´ve been testing (so far)
- fastest CM9 i´ve ever tried (after installing Apex Launcher)
- stable (phonecalls, sms, wi-fi, 3g, sensors, camera, gps ...)
- still little buggy with camcorder, and the panomara doesn´t work for me
ps:I ALWAYS do a full wipe before swapping from cm7 to cm9 roms and i always flash my stock SBF before getting back to cm7.
I don´t use chrome, for me dolphin browser mini is enough.
euroskank cm7.2 FTW
cm7 euroskank!
WIUI stable
WIUI stable is the best rom
I'm getting no issues on Maniacs cm-7.2.0-RC1
I´m on Maniacs nightlies (CM 7.2) for quite a while now and my Defy is completely stable, fast and i go for more than 2 days without charging
White Rabbit ist the best for me!
CM7.2 by Quarx for Defy+ rocks in my Defy Red Lens

thanks mate, have you had any issues with facebook? i open it and it closes no fc message or anything tried rebooting
MIUI.us
I have tried three different MIUI builds, MIUI.us is the best on performance and battery
I really enjoyed MIUIAndroid - DHD 2.4.20 (link) as my main ROM for over a year, which was the last Gingerbread version. (I preferred it more than ICS.) I think it's still my favorite ROM, although I've recently changed to Blackout ICS Incredible v3.1.0 to enjoy HTC Sense for a while.
For a quick top-layer experience or feel - you could try out the MiHome Launcher.
MIUI.cn build for DHD is SERIOUSLY slick. I've tried all the MIUI roms out there, and this one by far out-does the others. I've been using it for ages now and it's the smoothest and most reliable experience I've had on my DHD to date. It's based on 4.0.4 so none of the little and not-so-little Jellybean bugs and has the fully working sense camera. The site itself is in Chinese as you may have guessed but Chrome with translate makes quick work of that. Try it, you won't regret it.

Hello

Hey,
I've been reading xda for quite a while now and I thought I would register and say hey. Then once I have done 10 posts, start contributing.
I have a 2 year old HTC desire, rooted, stock HBOOT, S-off.
I originally rooted so that I could save apps to the SD card (fed up of not enough space)
however I finally plucked up the courage to flash a new rom and I haven't looked back!
Roms tried so far:
Sandvold 0.18.2.1 (and a few earlier revisions)
Runny Rom 7.0.2
MIUI (short lived - missed the app drawer)
JB Paranoid Hybrid UI
HTC Desire AOKP Milestone 6
Unofficial AOKP Jelly Bean v1.4 - my personal favorite so far although a few niggles which mean I can't use it as my everyday rom. (niggles I would like to help out with, when I have my 10 posts)
Current:
Insert coin rom A2SD+ stable v1.14 - purely because of the stability and lack of niggles.
I'm stuck with my Desire until my contract renewal (May 2013). and then I will be upgrading (possibly a Nexus, maybe something else). Until then I will be milking my desire for all its worth with new roms just to keep my interest in it.
I really like what you guys are doing here and the developers are incredible. I would like to help where I can, but being a noob and highly de-motivated by the instructional video means I might need help helping you....
Thats about it,
Thanks

Hey there.
You should try lee droid's and cool's.
Sent from my HTC ONE X
Hey, I had a look at leedroid and cool, and I might give them a go, but they don't seem too different to the insertcoin Rom I'm using at the moment, plus I like the plain sense3 lockscreen
I'm more excited about finding a jellybean or ics Rom that is stable and doesnt tell me that 'my device is not compatible' with my Natwest app or vouchercloud

Hey,
Which Runnymede rom do you mean?
Cool 3D?
Runnymedemod007?
Runnymede AOI?
etc,
I have tried Runny Rom, and I agree it is stable, but it was also quite slow and jumpy for me, I don't know if I was using the right Kernel, but I think I was. I even OC'd to 1132 MHz, but it didn't seem to make a difference.
I'm now trying runnymede aio as suggested and so far I'm quite impressed, seems to be stable and smooth, except the weather, but its livable with.

Might want to try Paranoid Android 4.11 Jelly Bean. From my experience it's the most stable Jelly Bean rom for Desire. The currently most stable ICS is this.

I personally would not recommend any ics/jb rom for everyday use.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
Well, yeah, ICS/JB roms are not too stable, but they are gradually getting better and better. I haven't had any major problems with any of the roms, except some occassional reboots or freezes - so far zero of them with this rom. And to be honest, I'd say that the ICS/Jellybean features and HWA are worth some discomfort. If you need to use the phone for work I wouldn't suggest them too much. But if your phone is mostly a "toy"/tinkering machine, go for it.
Also just noticed that OP had already tested the Paranoid Android JB rom... My bad. No problems for me with it so far. I didn't even know that my Desire could be this smooth :l.
I agree, I have tried most of the ics/jb roms now, and for a daily Rom I would stick with gingerbread, I'm getting back to sense at the moment, seriously considering a oneX+ when I can upgrade, although the Motorola maxx HD looks promising...

General Questions.

Hey guys, I should be getting the Incredible as a play phone in a couple weeks, and I'm just wanting to get a consensus of the Roms and Kernels for this phone.
I currently have the Droid Charge add my daily driver, and I am (slightly) experienced in rooting and ROMs. Currently the Charge only has one Rom going for it, and one Kernel that has more or less been abandoned.
The ril or Radio Interface Layer was never released for our phone, so development is limited. We will never have an official CM, AOKP, or AOSP ROM, which is why I am getting this once to play on.
From the looks of it you guys have almost all of these, but I'm not sure which are the most functional, or which ones are JB/ICS. I would prefer a JB/ICS Rom, as I haven't been able to play with them much, but functionality odds a big deal breaker for me.
All this being said, what do you all think? Which Roms/Kernels should I try when I get the phone?
Note: this phone will be a Wi-Fi only phone, so Data is no biggy. It will be in Airplane Mode most of its life span with me.
Thank you all! I look forward to becoming an active member, and maybe even a Themer if I decide to pick it back up.

The most stable roms seem to be CM7 and GB MIUI however I have used the last version of AOKP ICS, tiny's CM10.1 & zachf's JB 4.1 PAC Man rom with good success. Mostly everything works on AOKP ICS with some add on packages. CM 10 & 10.1 & the PAC Man rom have some issues mostly camera or video play back related.
edit: If you want a sense rom then try Touch of Blue. It's the only one being actively developed & is based on the Incredible GB factory rom.
Here is a thread link to a discussion of droid incredible users favorite roms & how they've made them work for them.

I'd recommend either one extreme or the other - Touch of Blue (GB 2.3.4 / Sense 1.0) or Tiny's CM 10.1 (JB 4.2.2). And unless you need/really want a good video camera, go with CM 10.1. Be sure to read the OP of Tiny's CM 10.1 ROM thread as well as the OP of his Q&A thread.
