Hello
I recently installed CWM in my LG Nitro HD after rooting. The thing is that it' s now stock in the LG logo. This happened after installing "kernellpan1c's" ROM. I follow instructions and I did not factory reset the phone. The phone was working fine when I went to sleep, but when I woke up, the LG logo was flashing . I went to the only ATT warranty center in San Juan, PR, but the guy was smart and knew that I flashed a ROM
I followed the guide about fixing Nitro's briked statet, but as I follow instructions and the threat, I got confused and I wast't being able to complete follow the instructions because some steps were not giving me the same results as the guide posted.
Can sombody post a complete guide "for dummys" like me, about unrooting and or flashing stock ROM with adb in Windows? I think this guide will be super helpful for me and other people with future trouble with the Nitro.
Please help !
Thanks ! !
You would have better chance get an answer by:
1) replying to the appropriate topic: [Solved] Unbricking Solution for LG Nitro HD | Confirmed Working on Bell Optimus
2) provide more detailed information about what you've done, and what you got. ("some steps were not giving me the same results as the guide posted.")
P.S.
This post will probably be deleted, so don't waste your time replying here, do it at the topic mentioned above.

OP, can you still access CWM? If so, follow these instructions to format data safely:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22533342&postcount=235
then re-flash the ROM (wipe cache, wipe dalvik-cache, format /system, install zip)
No, i can't acces the CWM.
Flashing the SU-640 rom:
1) Put your phone in download mode: power off the phone if it's not already, unplug the usb charging cable, and simultaneously hold the volume up button and plug the usb charging cable back in. DONE
2) Open up UpTestEX_mod2_marwin. (If you know what you're doing, I've been told you can use KDZ_FW_UPD_EN as well, but since I didn't use it, I'm not going to discuss it) DONE
3) Hit the folder icon next to the "Select kdz file" line and browse to the SU-640 v10f_00.kdz DONE
4) Select "CSE web upgrade test", a new window with some options including an "Upgrade Start" button should appear. DONE
5) Take a deep breath...there's no going back Press "Upgrade Start".
6) At this point in time another dialog box will appear asking what country and language the LG Mobile Upgrade tool should use. Since this guide is written in English, I assume you'll want to change it from Republic of Korea to All other countries and Korean to English. This affects the language that output messages are displayed in in the LG Update tool only, it doesn't affect anything with the rom (that'll be all Korean on initial startup lol). THIS IS THE PART WHERE I GOT STOCK BECAUSE IT WON'T OPEN THE LANGUAGE OPTIONS. IT WILL JUST OPEN THE LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL
7) The update tool will proceed to flash your phone, but it should never complete "normally" (mine never made it past 4% according to the tool and other users have reported similar behavior). However, your phone should reboot once or a couple of times and then just be sitting idle waiting for you to go through the setup wizard. At this point, just kill the LG update tool process in task manager, don't wait for it to complete because it won't.

hi iam using lg optimus g pro and trying to flash stock firmware using LG flash tool but i wont flash and prompt low battery but i already charged it whole day..
the cause i wanna flash coz my phone hanged at LG logo boot up due to kernel flash error.. can any1 help me suggest aother tool that can flash
KDZ file into phone...Thank You
Im having exactly the same problem! Tried everything on 2 different computers. They both run Windows 7 x64, maybe that's the problem?
E986 - FreeGee bootloader - CM 10.2 5-11 nightly
I could enter cwm and wipe everything and then i reinstalled cm 10.2 again. Otherwise i would be crying now lol.
But now i still can't go back to stock
I'm also having the same problem, as long as the phone boots into download mode I think there is hope. I have the F240 version and I'm having the same problem as you guys, low battery problem even though the phone is fully charged. Right now I'm trying the "upgrade recovery" thing in the support tool, it is downloading the kdz file again, I hope that during flashing the low battery error won't pop up.
Well I'll post results.
SOLVED!
UPDATE:
Ok guys, I found a solution, I took a huge risk but it worked!
background info:
I have the F240 version, since a lot of apps come on Korean I decided to flash the Panama KDZ file successfully, I had no signal but all I had to no was flash through CWM the original baseband for F240. Since I live in Mexico, I wanted to try the Telcel kdz only to find out I like the Panama kdz better. This were I got into problems, I could not flash my phone anymore due to the "low battery & upgrade unavailable" error. I tried different computers, different files, nothing seem to work. I read that formatting the /data /system /cache partitions would solve the problem... BIG MISTAKE, my phone no longer booted, no recovery, nothing, just download mode. After a few hours a found the solution and so I decided to take the risk.
Solution found here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44372777#post44372777
These were my steps:
- Download Flashtool v1.5.10
- Download DLL file for the F240 (LGUP_GKV)
- Download the TOT File for F240 (this file was impossible to download for me, so I decided to take the risk and downloaded this instead LG Optimus G Pro > ATT Value Pack Firmwar/ BIN_LGE980AT-01-V10k-310-410-JUN-07-2013-0.zip
from the XDA Server found in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438088
- Followed step by step instructions of post 9 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44372777#post44372777
- and here http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f177/lg-flash-tool-free-no-need-b2b-user-pass-1628819/index2.html
- FINALLY MY F240 BOOTED TO THE ATT ROM.
REMEMBER YOU MUST READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY, FOLLOW ALL STEPS AND BE WILLING TO TAKE THE RISK!
Hope this helps and it does hit the thanks button!
It's such a shame that the flashing tools for this device suck so horribly. They really are terrible, unstable, difficult to set up. About the worst I've ever used.
I still can't get Flash Tool to run on my device.
The main reason i wanted to go back to stock was because of the annoying delay when i make a call, or receive a call. And sometimes they don't hear me at all... It sucks that a prepaid phone of 15 euro's does the job better then a 500+ phone... In the end... it's a phone right?
I had the problem with stock rom so i flashed to cm 10.2 (i wiped everything before flash) hoping it would be gone but the problem is still there.
Now i found out there is a new .kdz file ( E98610D_00.kdz ) so i wanted to flash that but if i can't get flashtools to work..
* EDIT * i fixed it
What i had to:
Go to flashtools folder
Right-click UpTestEX
Go to compability tab
Select Windows 7
Hit the checkbox for run as administrator
Save
Just to make sure i left the phone on the charger for another hour after it said 100 pct.
Solved
I was experiencing the same problem. Easy way to get it done is
1. Uninstall the current mobile driver from your pc.
2. Download Latest Pc Suite from http://www.lg.com/in/support/pc-suite
3. Install it without inserting the USB.
4. Once installed restart your pc (safe side)
5. Now, remove the battery and insert it again after say 5 seconds and put your phone into download mode.
6. Let the PC and Phone install its drivers and once done open the LG Suite and under 'Mobile Device' tab select 'Restore Upgrade Errors'.
7. It'll download the stock 4.4.2 and you'll be back on track.
Let me know if you are stuck at anything.
Hit the thanks meter if this helped.
Cheers and good luck :good:
Hey Guys,
First post and i already got a problem because i messed up very much
I used to have Cyanogenmod 11 on my Optimus G, but i got several crashes and i wasnt completely fine with it so i wanted to try something new. So i updated my bootloader from CWM to TWRP and wanted to flash Artmod 5.2 Rom. I was a bit fast with my wiping, so i accidentally wiped the whole phone, so that everything was gone: Cyanogenmod, new Artmod rom i wanted to flash just everything.
I read a bit and thought it shouldnt be a problem then to just sideload the new rom, which i tried to do. I used adb sideload to put Artmod on the phone, everything was fine, flashing went through but i got stuck at the LG boot logo at the start of the phone. I waited like 30 minutes and nothing did change, so i thought something was not right.
I then just wanted to go back to cyanogenmod, tried to flash that through the adb sideload procedure but i got an error which said "error executing updater binary in zip 'tmp/sideload.zip'".
I was kinda thinking something really messed up so i tried to revert the phone to stock rom with the correct KDZ file i searched with the tool linked in the FAQ, everything downloaded but when i tried to flash the KDZ it gave me an error like this:
"12:03:59 Launching SW update
12:03:59 Unpacking KDZ
12:05:10 KDZ file extracted
12:05:11 Extract file error
12:05:13
===FINISH===="
So i searched the forums again and noticed that it should be a problem with the KDZ updater tool because the KDZ file was too big to get flashed properly. I wanted to try the LG Flash Tool 2014 then which is provided here in the forums and should work, it extracted the KDZ file, then opened the LG Mobile Support Tool to flash the file on the phone but there i start to get errors again, it either said that i am already on the correct up to date software version or that i need to disconnect the USB cable, remove the battery, insert it again, restart and try again.
I used several tools for that, i even tried it with an offline method that i found in a german forum, but every method got me the same errors, so i couldn't even go back to stock anymore.
I once tried to flash Cyanogenmod then again when i realized that the error message also told me "This Rom is for a "E975", this is a "GEE"" which i did not completely understand because it should be the total same? I edited the Updater-Script in the Zip file of the rom then and removed the part where it checks for that (1st line actually), then the rom did flash properly, phone started to boot (Cyanogenmod Boot Logo was shown) but when the boot was over i got the message:
"Type Password to Decrypt Storage" with a keyboard to enter the password. (I did never set up any password for that).
Now i am completely confused what i can do the recover my phone, either to stock or just to another rom, every method i tried did not work and i dont have any other ideas.
I can go into Fastboot, Recovery and Downloadmode, but when i tried to wipe again in Recovery it says that it cant mount my data mount point (probably because the storage is encrypted).
Somebody told me to do a hard reset with the keys "Volume down and power" which i tired several times, but everything i get is just the Google boot logo and then happens nothing or i get the Google logo, then the LG logo but after that i get stuck again, I cant seem to go into the "Hard Reset" menu which i should get into with that keys.
Anybody can help me what I could try or got a solution for this? I would be very thankful. I don't wanna loose my phone

Don't worry, that's pretty standard scenario for the first post...

Flash Tool 2014 works great for me every time, so try it again. Make sure you disconnect from the Internet before running it (yank out your LAN cable, or disable your WiFi), so it doesn't attempt to connect to LG servers. And don't forget to put your KDZ file in the same directory with the tool. It should go through just fine. That's by far the easiest method to revert back to stock, to get you to a clean starting point.

Umm... No, they are not the same. E975 is "geehrc", and there is no such OEM ID as "gee". There are many different OG variants. For the cross-reference between the models and OEM IDs, you can look here. Generally, you should stick to the ROMs that are designed for your model, unless you know exactly what you are doing, when trying to flash a ROM from a different platform.

Well i tried Flash Tool 2014 again and seem to get the same error that wants me to disconnects as it stops at the same position like it always did, also doesn't matter if I am connected to the internet or not, everytime it doesn't run through. This time I couldn't even read the stuff that was written in the LG Mobile Support tool because it only shows "????".
Heres a Screenshot:
The settings i made should be the right ones I think, the phone does get recognized by the computer when i plug it in because of the sound that windows makes.
I clearly dont't know what I can try anymore...
And according to the roms: well i only used roms for the E975, which is exactly my phone model, thats why i was wondering about that error message i got
Artmod is for E975, the CM11 was for E975, i even tried Mokee rom but i always got same error messages...
Nobody got another idea? I really am confused because if i can enter downloadmode and recovery there should be a way to get my phone back working.
Anybody knows where i can get maybe some older KDZ Files to go to 4.1.2 Stock rom and try to flash these?
problem

I don't know why you are seeing "???", but here is a couple of things regarding the settings, based on your screenshot:
1. Type should be CDMA (yours is 3GQCT).
2. PhoneMode should be DIAG (yours is CS_EMERGENCY).
3. I would suggest using CSE Flash for a full format (you are using Normal Flash).
Remember, this is a hacked tool, so the settings might not make perfect sense, comparing to the original ones. Just try following the instructions in the OP of the Flash Tool 2014 thread. Like I said, works every time for me...

I don't know why i see "???" also, but it didn't matter
I just tried the settings you told and used CSE Flash which worked out really well.
No i am back to 4.4.2 LG Stock rom. I think the root is gone now, but one thing i wanna ask is if my bootloader is still unlocked and custom recovery is still on it?
Anyway, thank you so so much! I appreciate your help! Thank you!

Glad to hear you are back in business. After flashing KDZ, the root is definitely gone, your BL is locked, and the recovery is stock. You will need to do all the necessary steps again: root, unlock the BL and flash custom recovery.
everything ON YOUR LG G2 WILL BE DELETED
I AM ALSO HAVE THE UNLOCK FOR THE LG G3 LS990 HERE
AND THE
SPRINT S4 L720/T HERE
THIS MAY LOOK LONG BUT ITS STEP BY STEP FOR NONE ADVANCED PEOPLE
everything you do will be own your own responsibility but nothing should go wrong if you follow step by step and DONT SKIP ANY STEP
you should be able to use any carrier at H+ speed .
you cant use 4G because of the phone modem chip its not powerful.
ALSO HERE A VIDEO TO SHOW YOU HOW TO DO IT:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGQ2aGlumWs
IF YOU ARE ALREADY ON LS980ZV7 SKIP PART 1.
PART 1:first you will need some files on you computer you will needs these for part 1.
1.LG Drivers
2.TOT FLASH TOOL / MEGALOCK
3.ls980zv7.zip / ls980.dll
PART 2:then you will need some files on your device these for part 2 which is the unlocking process(dont transfer these file to the device until you are done with the flashing with the lg tool.because that will reset the device and then you have to transfer them again)
1.Autorec.apk
2.towelroot-offline.apk
3.LG2 Rom
PART 1 :first install the drivers then extract the tot from the ls980zva.zip then install the flash tool then take the megalock.dll and put it in the program file folder for the lg flash tool then launch the lg g tool in the place where is says select dll click the 3 dots ... then select the ls980.dll and in the place where it says s/w click add the file that you have extracted ls980zv7.tot then click board dl then click OK , after that click the yellow arrow then wait for the loading to finish.
now go to the phone and turn it off.
now hold the vol+ on the phone and connect the computer it should show downloading.
now right click on my computer and choose properties, now click device manager then click ports and select the lone that have lg in the name click properties then click port settings and click advanced then change port to COM41.
now it should start restoring on the software.
wait until its done.
if it fails after the download then its okay it should go to testing mode then hold the vol+ and power and tap normal boot.
if it dose not go to testing mode and just comes on,its OK.
END OF PART 1.
PART 2(THE UNLOCKING PROCESS) Put all 3 the files on the device now
OK now install towel root offline and root the phone.
and then install Autorect.apk and install click install recovery then click reboot to recovery
it should reboot to TWRP
now click wipe then factory reset then click advanced wipe and select system, cache (ONLY).
then swipe to reset.
now click the home button on the bottom and click install now
and now select the ls980.zip that you have downloaded and swipe to flash it.
now go throw the installment screen.
and it will ask you to choose between TM,ATT,lg original.
it dose not matter which one you choose all will work but its better because if you select TM all the TM apps will install and if you select ATT all ATT apps will install if you select original then none of the extra features of ATT or TM will install.
now after you are done just click finish and the phone should reboot.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!
NOW YOU PHONE IS UNLOCKED

It is still working? Anyone from outside US tryed this?
What about mobile data?
Haha yes. Made it work on US T-Mobile. Thanks!
My LS980 is currently on ZVG. Would this method work for sim unlocking? Also, once unlocked, it's possible to flash other ROMs? Thanks!

HI guys, I found the low-effort rooting tutorial written by thecubed but I need a little assistance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
I'm at the step where you have to put the phone into download mode and it's now just sitting here doing nothing -- stuck at 0 % for the past 10 min. I'm pretty sure i have the ~4 GB image in the correct location. I took a screenshot here, so you can see. http://i.imgur.com/AiuSX33.png
After scratching my head I realized that I needed to install the LG G4 drivers on my laptop (Verizon version). So I did that, rebooted my laptop and tried it again. NOTTA. Download mode, still stuck at 0% and phone isn't doing anything at all.
Just before I started all this rooting the phone was nagging me about an "update" so of course I took the update *derp*. (bad move)
Before: V98611A. Now it's at 13B
Do I need to find an image for 13B? Is that why the download mode is stuck at zero percent? I'm very new to modding/rooting so I may have completely misunderstood the directions.
Sorry no one has responded to you.
That's never been my experience here at XDA.
I wish I could offer you some assistance, but I have no idea how to help you.
This thread managed to come across my feed on Tapatalk.
Maybe someone will come along that has your device and can help you figure it out.
I just wanted to acknowledge your post.
Buttersman,
Be more specific on where you are in the process, step #, etc.

First, will the phone boot properly if you leave download mode? If so, you may want to follow these directions http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
This will allow you to pull your stock system image, make a backup copy of it on your internal memory, root it, and then place it back on your phone. You could even take on of the pre-rooted system images floating around the forums and push it to you device following the last steps of the tutorial I linked, and skip the necessity of pulling and rooting your own system. With that said, I highly advise you to follow the tutorial step by step and root your own image. That will provide you a backup to flash in case something goes wrong, so you could go back to stock and it will also teach you a good deal about the process.
Finally.. since you are on 13B you are stuck on 13B. Never, never, never try to downgrade to an earlier version (11a, 12b, etc) because it will result in a bricked device. Hope this helps.
Having the same problem
Still trying to figure out the cause of it, but I think it's related to PC driver, as device manager is now showing "device cannot start (Code 10)" in download mode.

If your using Windows you could download USBDeview http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html. This will allow you to see all your drivers and delete all of the installed drivers for you G4. Then reinstall the proper drivers and see if it works. Another option is if you access to a Linux machine since it will natively see the LG G4 without needing to install drivers.
First i would like to say hello, second the issue: So i followed this tutorial: how to downgrade my 6.0 to 5.1.1 (official). [Reason is for root] (it was on droidpinoins)
So i checked everything, and it seemed all ok. (all requirements)
Than i downloaded the OPEN European rom (official), and i followed the rest.
LGUP did it's magic (I did install dll first) [spoiler ruined it], after the process it said it's all done.
I see my phone resets and it gets to "LG life is good'' loop (but it's not the same as others loops that you can find in youtube video) [it's the second animation after the first one]. And now is in the vegetable state.
And i have tried to do as suggested in forum, to turn the phone in recovery mode. But it failed, the phone gives me a small vibration and ignores the recovery mode.
So any ideas on how to fix this or wipe the current rom?!
