If you're looking for a cheap GN then Amazon UK and Expansys have it for £399.99 at the moment:

Geez to bad I'm in the states
I should have posted and told you guys this would happen last week when I bought one from Amazon UK for £449. I have a proven track record of this sort of bad luck...
No regrets though. Loving it so far.
Beware, if you get a faulty unit they would not accept a return and will tell, you are on your own ,and deal with Samsung, at least that what Expanxys USA did to me

To be fair YOYO41, Amazon UK have a great return policy and at the time I didn't mind paying a few pounds more for it from them over somewhere else. We also have distance selling rules to protect us here in the UK.
I recently had a problem with an expensive watch I had bought from Amazon after 7 months. Waterproof seal had failed and it had started to mist up. Within hours of contacting them a brand new replacement was in the post. That sort of reassurance is worth paying a little bit more for.

I know you're angry (I see this post across threads) but have you called them? At the end of the day, it's a grey market import and you assume the risk of being stuck when purchasing.

I would try negri or expansys. You will have warranty through them. You will NOT have warranty with newegg or amazon. And I also suggest waiting till February and see if the 32GB comes out. 16gb version price will probably go down. You might find a good deal on a slightly used one from somebody unloading to get a 32GB nexus aaaaand, it gsm version might officially be released in the USA and then it will be safer to buy through newegg or amazon. Anyways, buying through newegg or amazon right will only only allow the exchange/return period as your warranty. Not good if you ask me.
My grandma beat me down and took my nexus. Sent from a jitterbug with beats by dre.
All GSM phones come unlocked.
Newegg, Negri, Expansys are all good choices. Can't really go wrong with either three.
I personally bought mines from Negri (look for coupons if any exist and you can get a good % off)
Keep in mind that the white GN and GSM 32GB GN is coming out at the end of February (or so) if you're interested in that.
Pretty much what rbiter said.
personally i recommend negri electronics. they're one of the best places to get it. also currently the cheapest. and they honor the years warranty from samsung at no extra cost. they also include a US adapter.
i bought mine from them.
also, keep in mind that the 32GB version is coming in a little over a month, so if you need more than 16, you might want to wait.

oh, and it works great with t-mobile in florida.

Adapter? I ordered mines and didn't come with an adapter. Worked in the wall just fine. I had a yakjuxw build. You might of gotten the UK version so it needed a US adapter, that's probably it.
But regardless, Negri has great customer support + fast shipping. Would buy again, take a look at them. Definitely the cheapest and google around for a coupon (as I mentioned before.. you might save some more!)
I purchased mine from Negri. Had a problem with the first unit, would not recognize my SIM card. Had to pay for a second unit to be shipped while I sent the first one back. Sent the original back in the same box the next day, never even opened the headset or charger. They told me would only take 10 to 12 days for them to issue the credit on the device. They received it on December 19th still no credit and they are not responding to my emails. Now I have to dispute through my c/c company. As far the second part of the question, my GNex works great on TMOUSA! I have not had any issues with the phone working on their system and the speeds are pretty good, not LTE good but still good. I'm getting over 7Mbps down and upper 1's up, I'm outside Philadelphia.

I'm looking to purchase the Galaxy Nexus GSM, and I am located in the USA. A few different places have it for ~$450, and I am trying to find the best place to purchase it from.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-I9250...F01A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335213120&sr=8-1
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875176322
For anyone else that purchased it in the USA, what do you recommend? I have read of issues with fake ESNs, and I thought I read that there were different versions of the actual device (Japanese version, etc). Any major things to watch out for? Where did you purchase from, and did you have any issues?
Update - Responses from Amazon Sellers:
Global Mobiles:
the Samsung I9250 Nexus comes with a return policy of 30 days and 2 years manufacturers warranty in Europe. You can claim the warranty by yourself at Samsung Europe or ship the phone in case of a warranty to our office in Germany, where our technicians will handle the claim for you and send the phone back in the US after the repair.
And its EU stock. The warranty is valid in all EU countries, not limited to one.

Got mine from Amazon with next day shipping. I have prime so it was only 4 bucks for next day.
I'd say Amazon is safe as long as you get the one fulfilled by amazon. If anything goes wrong with the phone when you first get it you'll atleast have amazons great customer support and be able to return it.
My first gnex was from daily steals and the phone had a defect within first 24 hours. It took nearly a month to resort things and get my money back although they refunded my money in its entirety I'm pretty positive amazon would've been a lot easier.
Other places with positive reviews are negri and expansys. People say these places offer some sort of warranty which you'd normally wouldn't get with a gray market phone. They essentially act as a middleman for you and samsung. You send the phone to them and they send the phone to country of origin (typically samsung UK) for warranty repair. A bit longer of a fix but pretty good for ease of mind.

But isn't there a way to change the build of the device anyways? So the only difference is software based, not hardware based? I know the Nexus S had a LCD version, and an AMOLED version - I don't need to worry about that here, do I?
I sent a message to a few Amazon sellers, asking them what the warranty situation is, and what version theirs are (what country they import from). I'll try to report back when I hear back from them.

Yes the only difference is software, and you can change any i9250 or SC-04D to "yakju" and get Google OTA updates. It takes all of about 15min to do.

I wouldn't expect much as far as warranties go with an Amazon seller. If you want a warranty I'd go with a reputable non-Amazon seller like Expansys or Negri (and even then its shady at best and you're trusting that they can take your phone and forward it to Samsung Europe). You're going to spend a bit more for it though so I'm not sure if its worth it for you.
I got the $450 Newegg phone. It turned out to be a Docomo SC-04D, made in Korea, 12/2011. I have had zero problems with it. I immediately flashed yajku IMM76D and went on my way. No problems with the IMEI, it matches the one printed on the box. If the NTT battery cover bugs you, there are stock battery doors available from any number of sources.
Expansys dropped the price down to $469.99. Good deal, especially with all the warranty and repair service they assist with.
Just bought one of Amazon for 452 seller was blue tek, I'll let you know how it goes should be here Wednesday

That would be greatly appreciated - I'm kind of stalling at this point as I have a busy week of school to get through, and don't need a new toy to play with. I'm leaning towards Amazon as I have a bunch of gift cards that I need to spend.

Correct no warranty but an order fulfilled by amazon should give you a window of being able to return a defective phone. In my case I believe it was 7 days.

You have a lot of faith in your phone. My Nexus S screen went bad 6 months into owning it. If it wasn't for the warranty it would have been an expensive repair.
Also keep in mind that with a voided warranty (buying anywhere but Nergri or Expansys) Samsung will not fix your phone even if you pay them, because it is grey market. A few unfortunate people on XDA learned that the hard way.

Which problem did you face?
I got mine on Thursday from amazon for 430 $ but I didn't realize it was from saxx mobile, now I'm super scared its a refurbished phone, 20 $ didnt sound like a huge difference so i didnt suspect at the time, I should have been smarter and should have not trusted that too good to be true price phone hasn't arrived yet

Haha. Not too much faith but enough faith. My first phone I acquired through Craigslist but had a small scratch on screen and banding that was driving my ocd insane. My second through daily steals samsung did actually offer warranty fix but I had to ship to country of origin which was in Poland. Luckily I had people I knew in Poland who id be able to ship to. But alas daily steals offered me a full refund since it was prior to 30 days. I figured after two faulty phones I was due for an alright one.

You should be covered by the Amazon A-to-Z guarantee if it is refurbished or anything. If you have any problems, I recommend talking to Amazon customer service. They tend to be pretty good about stuff like this.
Would the warranty start working in the US if Samsung starts selling the gsm Galaxy Nexus here, or do they somehow know that it was imported and not allow people to send it in for warranty repairs?

I would get it from the Amazon link and make sure the one you buy is the one that is fulfilled by Amazon.
I purchased one from ebay and ended up getting the NTT Docomo version with a horrible screen with all kinds of banding.
I then purchased one from Amazon (same link) and got a regular (UK?) version, with a much better screen.
I will be returning the ebay one.
Both arrived with the Samsung seals broken (probably because they had to be unlocked)? But they were pretty much brand new in condition.
Good luck!
hey guys.

Every importer has it. It's a bit more expensive because they came much much later and there's not nearly as big of supply/market for them.
I know Negri Electronics has them for something in the $450 range. Not sure what their shipping policy to the UK is though.

What would you guys consider a fair price for this phone on Craig's list? The prices in my area are all over the place. On ebay they are selling for 350 brand new with a one year warranty. Mine is a brand new warranty replacement. I'm going to play the waiting game and try for a nexus 4. Also I paid 350 for this phone a year ago through a hookup.
I paid 250$ on craiglist. The guy said he Bought it for 380$. The phone was practically new. So i guess I was just lucky lol. If I sell it it would be 250$ like I bought it. But I see some ppl selling it at 280$-300$. And in bad conditions.

If it's in good shape you should be able to get at the very minimum $200, but I would say $250 is fair.

just to let you guys know I listed my phone for $280 on CL and sold for $300 ,two guys that offered me that amount. It might just have been the timing because both were going to be gifts also the phone was flawless as well. I'm gonna miss this phone it was good as hell to me. Now I wait till the nexus 4 become available again, I heard it might February oh well, I cat wait and will be using my Vibrant till then.
That was a quick sell. And yeah, man Google didn't do too well with the Nexus 4 release. I was contemplating getting one, but the whole releasing in batches seems like it would be a pain to get one. Either way, I still wouldn't mind one, but we will see what the next few months bring in terms of new nexus devices

This. Although I might start the bidding lower to get more people to look at it and follow at the beginning of the listing. Also, set the end date for a time when people have the opportunity to look and spend time bidding up the item, such as on a Sunday afternoon when people have nothing better to do (i.e. not 4am, keep in mind time zone differences as well).
Get it unlocked, and sell it on ebay. eBay is your best best. I was getting offers on mine for $200 all day on Craigslist. I ended up trading mine for a white S2 with a bad power button plus $150 .

I've been in the same situation as you, deciding between sticking with a T989 or switching to a G Nexus. In my opinion and after some research, aside from the obvious amount of dev support you get with the G Nex and a 720p display, there's nothing much that would justify that spending money to switch is worth it.
As for day to day use, you will definitely not notice any difference performance wise between these two particular devices. Might as well just wait for the GS3 to become cheaper, at least that has features worth upgrading to and about the same amount of dev support.
I paid 200 for mine

I'm currently in saudi arabia and I'm thinking of buying the new nexus 7 from amazon as it is available for international shipping..
It is avaiable through stores here but for an unreasonable price ($480 for the LTE version!)
I've been reading through the forums and found that many of the units had defects/issues and mainly those screen issues (dead pixels, ghost touches, dust under screen) so I'm worried about buying it since it will also be my first time to order something online.
Should I order it ? What should I do if it turned out to be defective ?

Amazon has a great return policy. If you notice something wrong with it in the first 30 days Amazon will swap it for a different one. I would assume most issues that you have would arise in the first month of owning the tablet.
