If so just restore it.

Try flashing a new rom
HTC WILDFIRE S
ROM:CM7 nightly
290 mb internal+1gb s2e

I say, just flash a new custom ROM. Most of them use Alquez's kernel, or a modded version of it anyhow.

[Q] desire z stuck on gingervillian and cant change roms!

hi there, i really need some help..not a tech genius..i installed the gingervillian 1.5 rom..everything went fine, but i forget to make a nandroid back up..when i install it was too late and my nandroid back up now is the gingervillian rom itself!..i dont really like the gingervillian because it wont work with htc sync. i have googled and tried so many ways i cant use other roms except gingervillian 1.5. all other roms just get stuck at the htc boot screen(for like 5 hours!)..factory reset dont work, full wipe dont work..i just need help on how to get back the original rom of the desirez 2.2 froyo..thx a lot..my life is counting on u genius out there!
I am assumng that you flashed CWM Recovery 3.0.0.x (orange) to install Gingervillian in the first place, right? Well in order to flash a Froyo version rom you need to flash the CWM Recovery 2.5.1.3 (green) back onto your phone prior to trying to flash a Froyo (2.2) based rom.
Update: The new CWM 3.0.0.5 recovery from ROM Manager now support both 2.2 and 2.3 roms.

What particular ROM's have you tried? Are any of them still on your sd card?
i tried 'Z ROM v2.0' and 'modaco r2 rom' and yes still in my sd
Have you been clearing the data and cache partitions after flashing new roms?

I'm unfamiliar with those ROMs but if they aren't built for the Desire Z and/or TMobile G2, then that is your problem. The best place to get your ROMs is in the Development thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=758
If the ROM you have is specifically built for your phone and is on the sd card then:
1 boot into recovery
2 wipe data/factory reset
3 (still in recovery) advanced>wipe davlik cache
4 (still in recovery) mounts and storage>format boot & format system
5 flash the zip from the sd card
6 reboot system (you may need to reboot a second time on some ROMs for everything to work correctly)
thanks man

is this a known issue? i myself am stuck with GV, nice rom but i want my swype back! lol, anyways will try the green cwm and see what happens
Try finding a stock g2 rom. After that download the zip. Go into recovery mode by pressing power and vol down. Make sure you have clockwork mod recovery. Not sure which version. Mine is orange. Wipe data and cache partition or something. Then install the zip. Should work. Hope I helped.

Custom ROM fails with infinite Android logo

I rooted my Desire yesterday and it worked fine (with the Superuser app showing up and all)
I have downloaded ClockworkMod recovery and that too works fine. I backed up my current factory ROM on it.
I downloaded the devnull.zip yesterday from
Code:
http ://download.oxygen.im/devnull.zip
and installed it on the phone and it is stuck in an infinite android logo loop.
What should I do ? The recovery *.zip file in ClockworkMod does not do anything ..
I am currently downloading a new ROM by Cyanogen CM 7.0.2
Let me see if it works .. =/
Okay .. So I erased the all user data and the old ROM works fine. It doesn't have the Sense UI so I am still going to install the Cyanogen ROM
I think this has to do with one of 2 things.
1. Your version of recovery. If you have ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7 then you will be able to flash most things fine. Later versions of some ROMS require different scripting in later versions of Clockworkmod like 3.0.0.5 but they will normally tell you in the instructions.
If that isn't the problem
2. Your EXT partition on your SD card is not correct or corrupt. Many of the newer sense ROMS built on the new HTC Desire test keys sense don't support EXT4 and you need to format your SD-ext as EXT3
If you are still having an issue and you are S-OFF. You most likely have will have flashed an alternate HBOOT. If that is the case, flash the stock HBOOT, then choose the option reboot bootloader in the fastboot screen.
Should get you back on track.
What is the problem with cm? The download speeds i am getting for the rom are inane. 83 MB is going to take forever @8kbps ..

[help!] stuck on htc logo

i have successfully installed revolutionary.. but then when i tried to flash rompuzzle4.5 with CMW3.0, and try to reboot it.. it just stucks on the htc logo.. what do i do??? please help!
You probably didn't wipe all.
Go to recovery(cwm) and select wipe data, wipe cache and wipe Dalvik cache.
Then try to flash your custom Rom.
it did not work.. im using froyo.. i tried to wipe it all but still nothing happens.. now im stuck at HTC logo.. i heard that CMW 3.0 has lots of bugs. i want to downgrade to 2.5.. how do i do that?
Well it is not because CWM 3.xx has bugs. You can not flash sense based roms with CWM 3.xx. You need the older CWM, i.e. 2.xx.
Just go to development forum, and read through full index thread. You will find all the necessary info there.

wait.. please help me.. ill just tell you exactly what I did.. ive researched everywhere but it doesnt work..
1. so basically, i have a 2.2 android and HBOOT 1.01.0002.. so i followed this steps to downgrade it.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132028
2. so then what I did to root it is to follow this steps.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130044
3. then I downloaded this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878115.. this is rom is wildpuzzle for 2.2.. (i followed every step)
4. after I flushed that rom, my phone would not boot anymore.. it would just stuck on htc logo.. I wiped all of the requirements but still nothing.. Now i cant use my phone..
guyz.. please help me.. i dont know what to do..
Just download Clockworkmod 2.xx and put it on your sd card. Boot in to recovery, the one you have i assume is 3.xx. once you are in recovery, install zip from sd and choose the clockwork2.xx you downloaded. Now i presume you will be in cwm 2.xx.
Once there, do all the wipes and flash wildpuzzle. Now it should work.

okay.. now im with CWM 2.5... another problem.. i cant flush! whenever i try to flush that wildpuzzle 4.5 rom it getting an error..
E:Cant chown/mod /sytem/xbin/a2sd (No such file or directory)
E:Failure at line 92: set_perm 0 0 0777 sytem:xbin/a2sd
installation aborted.
what does this meann???
Can you provide a link to the thread / download link of WildPuzzle 4.5? Never heard of it.
I think he is talking about DK custom rom 4.5....
I dont know the details of that rom... Does it require a partitoned sd card? That maybe the issue...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878115 .. heres the thread.. mann, please help.. dont know what else to do.. i just did everything exactly right.. nd now i cant get through my phone.. =((
guyz!! finally! i found out what the problem was!! i knew i didnt do anything wrong! it was just the ROM itself has the problem.. so what I did was i just downloaded the earlier version of that rom.. I think the mistake was from downloading it, maybe it was interrupted when i was downloading the latest version.. anyway.. thanks guys! =)
I use dk Rom now, flash v 4.5 boot it up once leave it to settle for five, then reboot to recovery and flash v4.5.2, without wiping. After this I had a problem moving the dalvik cache to my SD card with a2sd gui, flashing a different kernel fixed that for me.
Other than that this is an excellent Rom.

[Q] RemPuzzleRom doesnt want to work.

i were using the RemPuzzleRom for a while but now when i installed the 2.43 version it doesnt boot up(it turns on to the htc logo and then it restarts).one time when it booted up i couldnt install any apps.im using clockworkmod 5.0.2.0 and i dont remeber which version i was using before.
Do you have custom mtd partitions?
if u have, then flash the bravo boot file.
Sent from my CM7 powered HTC Wildfire.
i havent made any mtd partitions. all i have done is rooted my phone, installed 5.0.2.0 recovery(installed 5.0.2.8 yesterday) and installed this rom and abtekks rom but the abtekks rom was slower than rempuzzlerom so i tried to install back the rempuzzlerom but then i couldnt turn on the phone.
For the app installation problem, Make sure you have a SD partition. Follow the YouTube instructions in the op.

I think I have the exact same problem so I tried to install another rom (cyanogen mod 7) but I still can't boot it up for any longer than a minute maximum...
Do you did nandroid backup? Why do not restore?
Do you did full reset, before installation?

sense roms take much momore space than gb roms.I use 220 10 mtd values with sense roms.So edit mtdpartmap.txt and do the mtd setup again. And sense roms also require sd ext,so be sure you have it.
bro if i remember correctly i used to install sense roms normally like:
-wipe cache and data
-install the zip from sd card
-reboot
and new sense rom is ready.
i don't think i ever edited sd ext, how to check sd ext exit or not or how to make it again :-/

you can use mini tool partition wizard to see if sd ext exist. You can also make an sd ext using mini tool or you can also make it with cwm recovery.
now follow this procedure .
-edit mtdpartmap.txt with above mentioned values.
-boot in recovery.
-wipe data,cache and dalvik cache.
-flash bravo recovery.
-reboot recovery.
-flash any sense rom.
-flash bravo boot.
-reboot your phone.
now it should boot.
Only Rempuzzle requires sd ext. Others like kwbr, jokerdroid work even without it.

nope, kwbr requires it as well and if i'm not wrong, jokerdroid as well.
they'll get installed without sd ext but when you try to install an app, your phone will reboot itself.

As the above user stated its because you have changed your partitions pal. You will need to reset them in order to proceed
