On every ICS ROM (not the 2.3.7 mod) I used on my EVO 4g, I have noticed choppy playback(I mean it was really lagging) on YouTube videos even on WiFi (20Mbps) but not on High Quality. Have anyone else noticed this problem because I haven't seen anyone complaining on this issue? Maybe its just my phone. Anyway thanks for your responses.

You might want to check to see what process' running on your phone, could be causing the lag.

But the lag is gone when I turn HQ on and comeback when its off.
there is no video acceleration on those roms yet, hence why your videos are stuttering.
I have pretty much the same problem, but when I leave youtube and re-open it, everything is fine.

I have been experiencing some odd issues. Some of these issues will be repeats of whats already been posted numerous times, but i'll list them anyways because it's what I am experiencing.
- No sound from front speaker. (intermittent)
- Voice search not hearing me at all. (could be a microphone issue, intermittent)
- Receiving calls causes a reboot sometimes.
- Many random reboots
- Horrid battery
- Freezing when doing UI related tasks (intermittent)
- Horrible Signal (known issue)
- WIFI Issue (known issue)
Also getting terrible frame rates in quadrant, not sure if that is ICS related or if it's another problem to add to the list, but I thought i'd mention it.
Has anybody else had these issues, or do I just have a bad device?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah I was thinking about that. I'll probably do that today. How is everybody else' experience with the Galaxy nexus?
The only thing that should be wrong with our phones is the battery life. If you have all these other ailments, then you need a new device. That's too much going on with your phone. Get another.

Mine's been fantastic, aside the low signal issue. I haven't had any dropped calls or decrease in data speeds, it just low bars and actual low dBm so I really don't know why it does that. The auto-brightness is a little off too but nothing major really.

Outside of the above 2 known issues, and the quandrant frame rates, the other issues point to a bad phone. We know the signal is bad, and that wifi has issues. We also know that quadrant isn't built for ICS, hence the reason for the bad scores.
That being said, I'd get them to order you a new one to replace it. There's got to be something wrong.

Quadrant hasnt been updated in about a year. Not only does it not support ics, but its not coded for dual core devices either. Quadrant = useless
As for your other issues, just sounds like software issues that will likely be ironed out. Give it time.
Got a new device and all is well! Love this phone!
I was having reboots when opening camera (about 20% of the time) and voice search not hearing me (about 70% of the time) as well as a few other crashes. I did a factory restore, which seemed to fix the crashes, but was still having the voice search problem.
Then I noticed that voice search would stop hearing me after a crash of 3CX Phone (an SIP softphone app), so I uninstalled it and rebooted. No problems now for 12 hours. And SIPDroid doesn't seem to cause the same problem.
3CX Phone would crash often and I guess it was hanging up the mic input when it did. The phone app must have a separate path to the mic, however, since phone calls would still work, but even after a call voice search wouldn't work.

Success! Enjoy!
I am using the 2100mAh battery with SetCPU and I am getting great battery life. I listen to podcasts and stream music via Google Music at the gym for a few hours each day and easily make it until I go to bed.
Drives me up the wall. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not.

Aha. Well well.
Care to elaborate?
The multitouch issue were "multitouch" becomes wonky (for lack of a better word), after periods of use. Best example: playing a game that uses multitouch. The only workaround right now is to turn the screen off and turn it back on. The software resets when screen is toggled on/off. THIS IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM.
I believe it's still an issue. I still have the problem on 4.0.3.
Multi-touch problems? Not on my phone. First i've heard of it.

You probably just didn't notice it. I didn't know about it until i read about it. Then i tested for it. Lo and Behold i had the same issue. It's probably a non issue to some people. This happens on any version of the GalNex
You will not see it until you play a game then test for it.
I have the multi touch in the bottom corners. It's an on/off and turning screen off temporarily relieves. It hasn't been a big problem, because I don't game often but just wondering if anything is on the table yet. I know it is software so it is easily fixed. Has anybody come up with a patch for it?

Is there something in the OS that can invoke this bug to occur? I have a stock unrooted and locked bootloader GSM GN and when I had 4.0.1, I never had any of these multitouch problems on any game that I played. Now with 4.0.2, this problem keeps appearing. It's really annoying
I just tried to do same as the guy in the video.. Everything is fine at my phone...
Playing ShadowGun and Riptide GP on mine produce this issue, and turning the screen on and off works for a few seconds, then it happens again.
Waiting on a fix here too.

You guys should go here --> http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23044 and star this as well as leave a comment. Hopefully this will help get the ball rolling. It's happening across every model of gnex. I think that it's almost impossible that google doesn't know about this yet but whatev, can't hurt.
I am finding youtube videos so slow slow to start and continuously stopping to download the file, I never had issues like this with my desire HD or HD2. Although the screen is so superior on the one X it is completely spoiling the experience having to wait for 10-15 seconds to wait for the video to begin and the to have the video pausing every 5 secs. IS this an issue with the phone or the wifi connection I am using. I have unchecked the high quality on mobile in settings but to no avail. Any help appreciated

stock android 4.0.3
I have the exact same problem, latest officiall update: stock 4.0.4 with sense 4.1
Youtub constanstly keeps stopping and I have to wait for download
It is not related to my internetconnection
I had the same problem on previous SW version as well....
The phone is not rooted
Just checked, it's fine here, buffering at over double real time speed, on a hd video. 1.29.708.15.
To be honest, the phone doesnt make that much different to the speed of a loading video.
Make sure its using WiFi and not data to load the video.
Also make sure a computer/laptop doesnt do it.
If it does then your WiFi needs to be quicker

if you do do this test, do it on wifi, in the same place you would normally do it on your phone. don't cheat by plugging in the cable.

Yes...
I didn't mean put your laptop by your router, and run down the road with your phone?
Haha
Stock 1.29 and YouTube works perfect when I am on 3.2mbps speed WiFi and it buffers when I am slow net. It is depends on WiFi .

lol, not to say that this applies to the OP, but some people do need very very very specific instructions, i bet you 98% of people would do just the above lol.

I believe yours is an isolated problem. My friends' and mine are perfect; plays INSTANTLY, videos are crisp, and continue to be so all the way. This is over WiFi, and I play mostly 1080p or 720p when available.
So, check your hotspot...maybe you have a free-loader in your hood
Mine plays totally fine 8Mbps down, with ARHD 9.3.1.
Only thing i've found with it since i got my HOX, was the constant stuttering on sound. Stopped using it now as its annoying,
It depends on the video IME. Even on my hardwired desktop with a 60meg connection, youtube often pauses to buffer.
Hey devs , I have a question.
As soon as I updated to 4.2, the YouTube quality goes all pixelated as soon as it comes to sudden transitions and for example: when some one is in a chair and not moving the quality is fine but as soon as that person gets up the whole video becomes a pixilated mess. It is really bugging me and Ihave already reset it bit that did nothing. And yes hq is on. Some one got any solutions??
That's because hq is on. Turn it off or use wifi and it will be fine.
.
Yeah it still does it. It is really annoying!

Anyone else having issues with general video playback? It doesn't ALWAYS happen... But it seems that some apps (YouTube, Facebook, Netflix, etc.) seem to freeze up or have audio syncing issues, primarily with HD content, but happens at content at 360p too. Only way to fix is to reboot, and even then, it sometimes begins shortly after reboot.
I currently use T-Mobile with a consistently strong connection (25-75mbps) and have Gigabit internet at home, so I know it isn't a lack of bandwidth. No case on my phone to cause overheating, and phone temperature seems normal regardless. Any ideas?

I noticed this problem last night while watching YouTube. Horribly synched audio.
US ATT model.
I have a slight green load circle arrow, on all audio/video files. Tidal takes forever for the first HiFi file to buffer and load. I have never seen this behaviour on any phone before. This does NOT occur on my HTC 11, LG G6 or S7. The processor is not kicking in properly in the kernel imo

Kernel is the first thing I thing I thought of to be honest... It's obvious Motorola highly modified it... I'm coming from the OnePlus 3, and the difference in this software vs other devices tends to be pretty huge from what I can tell...

Are you stock? Do you have the bootloader unlocked? I might have a boot.img that should work. If you are rooted or have TWRP, this will make you lose it though. If you have TWRP, I can make it a flashable ZIP as well...

I ran into these issues. Compiling the kernel with some optimizations fixed the issue, that is why I suggested it. (all same from source, just different configuration during compile)

Hint: default compile for this phone is performance governor which can cause these issues, so rooting and changing gov to interactive or another one should fix the issue without needing a custom kernel.

As simple as changing the gov? That's almost too easy loll! I think I know my answer
i dont have any stutter in videos but scrolling through G+ on my phone is very laggy. i installed Kernel Auditor and my gov is already set to Interactive, maybe change the GPU gov? its set to msm-adreno-tz
