[Q] Stable and simple rom - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Could anyone tell me a Fast, simple and stable ROM that I could use every day. I don`t like CM 7.2 very much because it looks too complicated to me and it uses a lot of battery power. So i would like to hear suggestions on this qurstion.
W/ best.

Based on my experience and in no particular order:
1. Stock Froyo
2. BNC-GIO-ROM-R1 (2.3.6)
3. Jonas Hendrickx 3.1 (2.3.5)

I too vote for Jonas Hendrickx 3.1. I used for a while and it was very stable. Better than stock.

Ok. Which is better in your opinion? Jonas Henrikx or BNC

Currently I'm using BNC. I stopped using Jonas because it would disconnect wifi every now and them. But not every one faced this issue so I guess you should give it a try. I tested with with a custom kernel too but problem still persisted.
BNC is pretty fast and stable too. So far going good. Two problems I face and that are 1) thinkfree can't be activated on it and 2) to apply some settings, you have to reboot your phone.

[Q] Most stable non-stock ROM?

I've used Phiex's CM7.2 for very long and for some reason it started to get very buggy.
I would have to enable and disable airplane mode to be able to send an SMS, some simple things stopped working, performance became a bit sluggish etc etc.
So I decided to give CM9 a try. What a disaster, almost nothing works (for me) and since I use my phone in a very specific way there was no mention of those things not working.
Either way, here's a summary of the things I use my phone for:
Tethering 3g internet via WiFi to my iPad.
Tethering GPS via Bluetooth to my iPad.
Lot's of texting/browsing
Some calling.
Now, my question is obvious. What is the most stable, most reliable non-stock Gio rom out there?
Did anyone try the CM7, the one not from Phiex? Is that one any good?
Many many thanks in advance.
I would say cm7. But if you really want stability, choose a stock based rom.

Decided to give your ROM a try. Seems like a good one.
The only thing is that there is no link in your post to the ICS theme.. Which ICS theme do you recommend for your ROM?
Just see the link got corrupted, here it is:
http://www.mediafire.com/?py6sjjy1dwh7d16
I recommend to use holo launcher or apex launcher for the pure ics look.

Nice rom but I don't like the transparant statusbar.

You can use a2sd on any GB rom with custom kernel.
But you also need to flash the a2sd package. See the full tutorial

I had installed enhanced 2.3.6 but I hadn't worked a2sd. (while package was installed)
is not 2.3.6 Enhanced GB rom? why didn't work?

thx for ans:good:
there is also a version of cm7.2 on giocommunity website.
its by delanoister, with his kernel, the third edition is what I am currently using and it has been perfectly stable and fast - and hasn't had a single force close on anything, and s2e works great.
Give a chanche to 7.2 Miracle Edition. That's not bad. :cyclops:

[Q] What ROM are you using?

Well, the title says it all. I just need your help, so what ROM are you using? I'm using Enhanced 246 atm. I'm thinking of changing it.

just ginger DX v029
It depends what day it is. Seriously, I swap ROMs so often even I don't know for sure.
Enhanced 2.3.6 has been the best for stability etc but CM7 offers the next best stability with greater features - e.g. music controls on the lockscreen.
weekend : cm9
school days : enhaced 236
friday : sometimes cm7

The Best Rom For Gio.

Hello,
I am looking for the best rom for gio.
Currently i have the CM9 from maclaw but titanium backup says my phone isn't rooted. I also had GingerDX and MiUI and s3 gio but in every rom there are some bugs. I need a rom WITHOUT bugs. Does anyone have suggestions? It doesn't matter what kind of a rom. So ICS or iOs doesn't matter. Thanks. -sorry for bad english-

personally I prefer Unofficial CM10 / CM9, I use this rom everyday, works pretty good
Well all roms have there good points and bad but that all depends on how you use it.. Like ginger DX is a stable rom but kind of plain.. Try differend roms and see what kind you find most good to work with..
Adrenaline is very good. Also DebianDroid , wich i actually use
Yes i tried jellybread and cm7 and miui and many other roms. My finally choise is Aurora 3. Very smooth and no bugs. There's only one point with my miui launcher. See my other tread.

CM7 based on stock ROM is great..
fast and less battery consume..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164025
stock or CM7 based are the lightest ROMs around.
no ICS/JB ROM comes close.
I'm using MaclawStudio's AOSP ICS for some time now, and I must say that's the best rom I've ever used for the Galaxy Gio ;d
It's smooth, the battery life is good and because it's ICS it also looks awesome!
I'll try M'rage Rom v2.1 is beautiful hahaha, tks ppl :victory:
I would prefer Erik's cm10.1 rom. Using it in daily use over a year. You can install link2sd or a int2ext4+ script to gain more storage for apps if you need it.

Jellybread is very stable.
Only issue I have is that sometimes text is unreadable in buttons or notification bar (light text on light background).
