Need to flash the kernel too?

Awesome job on the ROM as always! Sucessfully flashed the ROM and the latest modem bin.
Only question: on the first post of the CleanGB thread, there is a link to the CleanGB kernel (in addition to full version). Do I need to flash that as well?

No the kernel is included in the rom for Clean GB. Next time post within the Clean GB thread and ask. Also seems like maybe your new to this so be very careful! You may always send me a message if you have question about your phone. I'd rather help people before they mess up there phone than after it becomes a paperweight

Unfortunately, I don't have the privs to post in the Epic4G Android Development forum where I could have asked directly on the thread. Hence, the reason I asked here instead.

jn, dont' worry , it's cool... travis might have forgotten thats what the q/a thread is for. it takes sometime to learn your way around here.
The kernel in the full version of the latest CleanGB ROM shows a different version number than the link to the kernel only flash file.
That was the other thing that prompted my question.

It depends on the dev. Devs like pratyush dont own this phone so they make a rom with whatever stock rom they get. The dev of hybrid uses latest firmwares because he owns that phone. But there are also some devs who used the cooked roms as their base, modify them and upload it for example evanlocked

Devlopers we have testers

DEVLOPERS WE HAVE TESTERS
I was seeing that a lot of devlopers need testers, and are asking for them on their thread. So lets make it easy for them, this thread is like a volunteer list for SERIOUS TESTERS ONLY! Those who will write back to devlopers to help roms progress, or bring new ones to life a little faster. So lets put what you're willing to test as roms, modems, apps, kernels, hacks; and scripts. Then let's put what were using, and how to reach you. For example, I'll do mine...
Gabe lozano
Willing to test
Tw roms 4.0.4 & 4.1.1
Aosp roms 4.1.1 & 4.1.2
Kernels tw and aosp base
Modem jelly bean or ics
Scripts cmw or terminal emulator
Hacks Any
Apps Any
Xda private message
Running.
Serenity rom 1.1
Tw 4.1.1
Kernel stock
Modem UVLI8
Everyone get the gist of it only put what ur will to test if u only wanna test a certain rom put the name and then put only what ur running
ONCE AGAIN SERIOUS TESTERS ONLY PLEASE
P.s the thanks button dont hurt if u click it

PM me if you want to test the Note 2 ROM (Serenity 1.2) | Noble Series.
Reviewers, get on GTalk.
Think it should be said that any testers should know how to get a logcat

Yeah, but this thread is more for developers to find and choose testers they would like to try out their roms and etc.

You need to make sure you use roms from same resolution mobiles and both are armv7( xperia play is armv7). Also make sure to edit the right files and build prop correctly.

Which rom are you using? There is a MIUI v5 rom by iHackers in the development thread, it has all those options like other MIUI v5 roms as you mentioned. A few CM based roms have those options too.

You have to repack for the dualboot
All roms have worked so far after repacking,
Check the posts to see if someone posted the roms you are looking for

It works with all kinds of roms even Ubuntu touch all you need to do is find repacked version of the Rom or repack it by yourself. Repacker is on the first page of dualboot thread. You can also ask sb to do it for you cause repacker only works under Linux. First of all you need to read because you can mess up your device if you don't know what you're doing.

I don't have linux either at the moment. I don't know if someone has already repacked this rom but you can search either in miui topic and dualboot one. You can also ask in those topics to repack it for you. Finally don't forget to hit "thanks" if I helped you.

To confirm, MIUI works fine on dual boot, I repacked one or two versions long time ago. In fact, afaik, all roms can work on bootmanager, repackaging is needed though.
I'd suggest that you ask if someone could repack you a recent version in BootManager thread, you will get more visibility than here. I don't have time these days to repack, but I'm sure someone will do it if you ask...
And if you have questions regarding bootmanager, don't hesitate to ask in the dev thread, it's easier to follow for me.

ExistenZ Ultra 1.0.0 as native
Hello,
I'd like to run the following system on my Xperia S:
native rom: ExistenZ Ultra 1.0.0 (thread here)
loop rom: letama's AOSP 4.3.1, for which he has already supplied the suitable .zip
As I'm running a linux 64bit box, I'd try to repack the ExistenZ myself, but I have some doubts this would work:
- Does the used kernel work within a native rom at all? I guess so, as it has been around now for some time.
- Would it work with the TX-Core Kernel 5.7? And how could this be done?
- In the 2nd post of the OP, there is given an instruction which includes flashing two images after each other with some fiddling in between - can this be packed as one flashable rom for the native partition at all?
And as this sounds rather tricky to me after all (never repacked a rom so far): Would anyone be willing to pack it for me?
Any hints on how and what to repack with the script would of course also be appreciated - Thanks in advance!
