My wife and I just bought the nexus when we switched to Verizon. We both have an extra battery with a battery charger that also acts as a media stand for the phone.
What should our next accessory be. I can't decide on a desktop dock or a car mount.
Give me your thoughts.

From what I've been reading here, you aren't going to get a "real" car mount that utilizes the 3-pin connector for charging, etc. for Verizon anytime soon.
My first purchases were an extended battery, car charger, and case.
Does the desktop dock use the 3 pins to charge the phone?

As far as I am aware, there is not a desktop dock (or any accessory for that matter) that uses the 3 pin connector that is available for our LTE phones.
I'm happy with my extended battery, Otterbox Defender and Skinomi Techskin screen protector. Just purchased the Xtrememac incharge BT for use in the car. It's $80 but found it for $18 from nothingbutsoftware.com, strange I couldn't complete the purchase on my iPad. I'm glad it wouldn't let me cause it was $30 on the iPad but then when I shared the URL to my Nexus the price was $18. I got email confirmation it shipped today.

So I was looking around and I found an interesting dock that also charges a second battery for only 25$

I was wondering if anyone has ever purchased from wirelessground or is currently using this dock.
just curious is there a dock that uses 3pin on the side of the phone?
hope works with extended battery
I have yet to find a dock that uses the 3pins
I really want the 3 pin dock for its side. DAMN taking tooooo longgggggggggg

It should work but I'll let you know for sure when I get it.

I think it's bull**** that they charge an extra 20 bucks for the same dock thats hardwired. I mean YOU hardwire it instead of plugging it in to a cigarette lighter!! It's more effort/work. They should charge more for the cigarette lighter one IMHO. Since thats the case, I will just cut off the lighter plug, splice the wires, and hardwire it that way.
I'm pretty sure the hard wired one includes an adapter box. You can't just cut the cigarette lighter adapter off because you need something to convert 12V to the correct voltage to charge the phone.
What I did was went to Radio Shack, bought a female cigarette lighter receptacle, hard wired THAT under the dash, and plugged the cigarette lighter plug from the dock into that. Works great.

I ordered mine in early Jan and just got conformation from them that it is shipping Monday. I got the hardwired version - I think the hardwired charger is better than the cig lighter version (2 amp vs. ?)
They are spendy but well worth it.

They have that listed as a separate clip. Just use the selector on the main page of their website.
Can someone who gets this test it out with a TPU case?
I ordered the Verizon Galaxy Nexus mount a while ago and just got it yesterday. It fits great, with both the normal and extended battery.

which doesn't have built-in charging.
Bought an inexpensive desktop dock on Amazon for my Galaxy Nexus. Received it today.
*The Good:*
It was $20
Comes with a USB transfer cable as well as a 1.5A wall charger.
Removable inner casing to allow docking with a case on (at least in the description)
Spare battery charger port in back
*The Bad:*
Cannot dock my phone with either case on it. Must be naked.
Spare battery port does not work with Verizon battery
No audio port for 3.5mm out
If you have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus, it is useful only as a desktop charging/syncing dock as long as you're not using a case.
For $20 it's fine, but I'm a bit disappointed that it didn't work with a case and that the spare battery slot is useless to me.
Anyway, here's the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/RND-Power-Solutions-Battery-compatible/dp/B006O45K9C

No it doesn't.
to let people know, the battery slot will only charge the normal size GSM version battery, not extended one.
Thanks for posting this. I'm usually a no case guy so this sounds good. Unfortunately the plastic on this phone is too fragile and I've already damaged it, so I now have a case on.

While it doesn't, I'll be using some NFC stickers I picked up from tagstand.com to do this and a handful of other tasks via NFC Task Launcher and Tasker. Should be good fun.

It actually comes with two. One for "sync" (a standard usb cable) that is 4ft or so and another for just charging that's thinner and around 6ft. I've actually not used either and instead, just stuck with the cable that came with the device.

I want to buy a wireless charger for the Nexus 7(2nd gen obviously). I was think about the Nexus 4 wireless charger, but it seems that the Nexus 7 would be too tall for a perfect fit on the charger. Also Google has "not yet" launched any wireless chargers specific for the Nexus 7. What are the prospects of a wireless charger from Google designed specifically for the Nexus 7 this year? Should I go for the Nexus 4 charger? or should I buy a differ QI charger like Energizer ?

If you're looking for a budget one:
CHOE Qi Wireless Charger Mat
Isn't too bad. I use it. Not bad for the price. I think it came out to ~27 USD after shipping.
Not great, but at the same time worth what you get for it.
Edit: Forgot to mention that it did take about 10 days for it to arrive to me, dunno if that matters for you. It ships from China.
the dt-910 is perfect charging stand. orb works well too, but I prefer the Nokia
metrans MWT03 works flawless and very affordable

I went ahead and bought two of the Nokia DT-900's that was brought up in another thread.
http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/accessories/chargers/sku6290260.html#fbid=szkg61a3LRi
They are marked down to $24.50 and if you buy 2 items you'll get an additional 10% off. If you buy a third, I believe it knocks it down to 25% off. Anyway, I bought two, one for the wife and one for myself with tax for $47. Not bad. I think I'll take Artood2s's lead and make a stand!
Edit to change shipping to tax!

EDIT: As the post above me stated as well. This is probably the best deal out there.
I suppose one benefit of the CHOE is that if you have multiple devices (i.e., phone, tablet etc.) that charge via USB Micro B, that you really only need 1 plug and wall adapter to bring with you if you want to charge with Qi. If all your devices do not have Qi. Not only that, this allows me to hook up my charging mat to external batteries as well as my solar panels.
That was the main reason why I got the CHOE over other options, as it is powered via USB, instead of a wall adapter.
I just went across the border this weekend and picked up the Nokia DT-900 for $24. Can't go wrong so I bought two. It works perfect with both Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 without the need to adjust the device just to get it to detect the charger. Well worth the money

What do you use for solar charging? Did you make it yourself or buy one of those solar chargers?

WakaWaka Power (Dunno if this is commercially available either but you can definitely find out more info from the link provided).

Darn I was kind of hoping you had made one yourself as I was going to try to make one and pair it with a wireless charger and a DIY stand. Guess I'll have to use le goog to find out how.

What about this one.
How much, and where?
http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/31/google-wireless-charging-pad/
It says PlayStore. Gotta keep an eye there....
As for me, the good Qi charger for the tablets should be bigger than tablet, have at least 5 or 6 charging coils and detectors (to start charging regardless how do you put a device), be quiet, no bright annoying lights, flat and stable enough for the night stand. And of course it should cost a reasonable price - definitely not a $80-100 but about $25-30 (hey, it's not a "super-duper high tech"; all parts will cost just a few bucks in mass production).
I still can't find anything like described above on a market
The original Nexus 7 had a tablet stand, and charging pins built in. I like the idea of wireless charging, but why doesn't Google offer a stand like the original, with wireless charging included?
If u use a cover u can not charge with the dock.
Wireless is easier as u just place the tablet on the qi pad with its cover.
Its now in stock 50 bucks.

It does have the magnets, though.

Yes -- provided you get USB audio to work with a second-gen N7 in the first place. Wireless charging doesn't normally interfere with USB Audio.
Using stock 4.3 firmware on the N7.2, I've only been able to use external DACs with USB Audio Recorder Pro.
Who is the manufacturer of the new Google branded charger? Is it LG?
I ask because I have the N7 in the official Google case with the flip cover. I also have a few wireless chargers and the WCP-300 is the only charger that won't work through the back of the case.
And I agree with the comments about how well the Tylt charger works, even with the cover folded behind!
