thanks for the help
Just letting you know if you bought from a corporate sprint store it has a one year warranty for replacement for any and all damage. Also I have been looking for a white one with a kickstand as well and have not been able to find one

1. Sorry to hear about your broken case.
2. Rule of thumb: never, ever buy accessories in-store. The markup is ridiculously high. You're just flushing money down the toilet. See the links I've posted below, they charge a whole lot less for cases made essentially by the same people (China), and they're Still making good profit. Of course, if the item is a brand name item like for example Seidio, Case-Mate, Zagg, etc., you'll still get a better price online, just not as steep a discount as comparable items. Your best bets:
Generic, white on white
Generic, white on black
Generic, white on black (different seller)
Like the one Sprint offers, but the white version
Case-Mate Pop! Case
Case-Mate Pop! Case on Amazon
If you plan on buying one of the "Generic" ones above (which also come in other colors), be sure to do the modifications to the case as highlighted on Youtube by nerys71. And if I'm not mistaken, he's also a user on here in the forum. Shout-out to you, bud.

and is the white/white heavy duty really fat?
FWIW I'm very happy with my Pop! Case-mate from Amazon

Does the case pop by chance fit the seidio active holster? Anyone know? Thank you in advance!

White hybrid case with kickstand
Check this one out I asked my coworker if his site carried them and showed me these. They ship out of Oklahoma City, OK and very quickly. They have lots of cases for our phone.
I personally rock this one from them with my white E4GT.
Clear argyle pattern

I've seen several places online that sell them(this seller had the best price), now they're nowhere to be found. Your best bet currently is to contact the eBay seller and ask if they'll be getting more of that case any time soon. Keep looking on eBay, Amazon, and Google, it might pop-up somewhere if a seller gets a shipment of them.
I'm not much of a fan of that case. When I first got my E4GT, I remember buying the black version of it. It seemed to be more of a tray that your phone popped into than a case. The coverage around the phone wasn't good, especially at the top and bottom of the phone. And the kickstand was extremely hard to open (on the one I got at least) and seemed cheap and couldn't stand the phone up-right. But hey, whatever floats your boat. To each their own.

Thanks! I'll post here if I find them again...

I saw some decent kickstand cases for the SGS2 with AT&T, but I have not been able to find any yet with the TMO version. Please let me know if you find any out there specially made for the TMO SGS2!
I'm having major kickstand withdrawals since upgrading from my EVO 4G.
Oh and I'm looking for a landscape kickstand, not the portrait kickstand found on the Body Glove case in the TMO stores.
Same here, would love some kickstand

Thank you for the pictures. Can you post one of the front of the case? I want to see how much of the bezel it covers and if it gets close to the edges of the screen.
The only thing i dont like about it is that the top and bottom arent covered.
The inside has a felt material to protect the phone from the case.

I tried it on my phone and it felt incredibly cheap, tacky color/design, and lack of real protection. If it fits your needs then awesome. For me I am kinda rough on things and like protection all around. I can appreciate the usefulness of a kickstand.
I also would like a little more protection. It seems like most of the kickstand cases are hard plastic, but I at least want a gel/silicone insert something like the otterbox commuter often has.
Hopefully they start actually releasing some good cases for this phone soon.

Oh, the black and white ones don't look too bad at all. Price is a little high, but this is very close to what I'm looking for. I really like the grippy edges. I'm hoping that a case will make my power and volume buttons a bit harder to push on accident (which I am constantly doing).

That is a good deal alright, but that case isn't for the T-Mobile version. Those are still listed as 'coming soon' on the Case Mate site.
lol...that i didn't know..guess can't get it for cheap yet.
Casemate is still taking forever to get their T-Mobile cases out, even after some rumors that they were coming a couple weeks ago. http://www.case-mate.com/pulse/samsung-carriers.asp . Looks like if it does come out, they will be asking $35.00 (same as Sprint and International price).
Trident said they were going to do their Kraken kickstand case for the TMO SGS2, but then when it came time to ship cases, they ended up only shipping the Aegis case (no kickstand) (http://www.tridenteer.com/categories/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-(T%2dMobile)/ - $29.95).
But it does look like Seidio has finally shipped a kickstand case, http://www.seidioonline.com/t-mobile-samsung-galaxy-s-II-active-case-black-p/csk3ssg2tk-bk.htm . There is a review for the case here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336684 . Priced at $34.95. There is a 15% off promo code for this case, "Winter11".

I've placed my order for the Sapphire and Amethyst ACTIVE cases from Seidio. There is one review in the linked thread with pictures and then only one other user who made some general comments.
There are no reviews yet on Amazon, but the cases are listed there for the same price (no promo code). Amazon has the black in stock and the others shipping in 2-3 weeks.
I have the Seidio Active, switching from Ballistic. There is a big difference in feeling, mostly due to the Ballistic being so big and harder to press the buttons. I needed something with a belt clip, and I've gone with the Active series for my last 2 phones (HTC Sensation, LG G2x). It's a great combo all in all.

I couldn't keep waiting, so I got the Seidio Active case and I'm quite happy with it.
Hello everyone.
I've been looking at cases and know there are alternatives, but having owned an Otterbox, its the only one I choose to use for a smartphone.
There is no case made at present for the T989 BUT I spoke with a rep today and he was more than happy to add my request to the production database. He said "We make cases for everyother variant so I don't know why we wouldn't make one for this one, but the dimensions are a bit different from the skyrocket so that won't work" etc.
There was absolutly zero wait time to talk to someone, so if you've been wanting an Otterbox case for our T989 I implore you to give Otterbox a call at 855-688-7269 and at the prompt select technical questions and add your suggestion to show that customers are interested and they need to get the ball rolling already for our version!
EDIT: Perhaps this would be better suited in accessories? I dunno.

The SEIDO case is very comparable to the Otterbox commuter series. Went from BB Bold 9780 to the T989 and am happy with the SEIDO.
I have also being waiting for an otterbox case for this device. Otterbox cases saved my previous iphones from several falls and other accidents.
I will have to look into the SEIDO cases. I've never heard of them.

May consider Ballistic or Trident Aegis. I ordered both and end up keeping Ballistic. I felt the extra thick corners on the Ballistic made a better protection if dropped.

Thank you for the response. As per your advice, I took a look at the Seido active case. I can see some places where my Otterbox was superior, namely in integrated plugs for all the connectors AKA ways for water to ingress into the system. See image below!
Moisture ingress is my MAIN concern. I've dropped my Otterboxed blackberry into a locomotive engines oil/coolant pit and it survived no problem.

The Aegis has piqued my interest, thanks!
However, I did notice that the 'dust cover' for the mini-usb whatchamacallit doesn't actually INSERT into the plug like an otterbox's would.. it could do until then.

Yes, definitely.
Thread moved.
I have the sedieo and have dropped it numerous times without a single scratch.
Dropped mine a couple times. I was more worried about having it sitting on my toolbox and dropping a wrench on it but with the seidio active and holster combo my worries are gone.

Like I said, more worried about moisture ingress and the otterbox is just sleeker and doesn't increase the size as much.
i have the ballic case cant even try otterbox cant find the one for t989 dont like how its 2 parts botton rubber moves alot
I highly recommend this case: TPU Rubber Skin Case for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989, Black S Shape (it is made by EFORCITY and can be found on Newegg... I'm too new here to post links: sorry)
I can safely say that it is BY FAR the best case for its price. The TPU rubber gives it great rigidity over any silicone case, and it doesn't add any additional weight compared to some of the snap-on cases. The profile is really thin, and I really like the grips on the side of the phone. I have dropped my phone several times, once going down a mountain bike trail at 20+mph... my phone shows no scratches or signs of wear... enough said

Hmm, intruiging. I had an Otterbox case for my Vibrant and I really liked it. Well thought out and it was especially nice to have easily slide in and out of pockets.
Anyway, I thought I might share what I just bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Samsung...ccessories&hash=item416695ab2f#ht_2241wt_1396 It appears to me to be a bit more of an 'off-brand' (and by that, I mean it is not a 'name-brand' by any stretch of the imagination) but it was a decent price-I paid $6.49 USD.
I do not mean to disrespect your "Otterbox" specific thread, merely throwing out an alternative that others may find useful. Credit due where its due, XDA user Synergery52 has a great little review and very helpful photos here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647832 (In case anyone hasn't already seen it.)

I didn't get my case, yet but I have search results based on Google.
http://www.amazon.com/iTALKonline-PREMIUM-LEATHER-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00817VYRW
https://www.proporta.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s3-leather-case-with-aluminium-lining

They're expensive, but Vaja has one small leather case out already, and I'm sure they'll design more with the relative similarity between carrier devices, and the number of buyers across the world.
The first one they've come up with is $70, which sounds really high, but I can tell you from experience that these things are inSANEly well-made. They're probably hand-stitched by one 85 year-old lady in Venezuela, but their cases are awesome.
Cheaper one

I can't post URLs yet, but I got a leather carrying case on Amazon for about $6.
I got this one. I love it because vertical position is a must and also the clip can rotate. It does leave some black marks on the back of the phone but nothing is perfect
The $5 & $10 cases on ebay /amazon are not real leather.
I am also interested in some real leather options. A search showed "hoco" as an option, they look pretty slim too.

Seconded! I don't have one for my S3 (yet), but I've been considering the Grip or the Pouch they have on their site.
I've bought their cases for past phones and not only do they look great, but they're very durable. The price-point is a little painful, but well-worth it in my book.
Might as well ask this here. But do any of you guys (yea guys on this one) carry around a wallet case? I'm really looking for recommendations here as I'm having a hard time finding something good. I just got my wife a galaxy nexus (sprint) and looking for a good case, probably the rubbery kind, but purple or pink or similiar.
Anyone give any links, recommendations or other? Thanks in advance!
ebay, My girlfriend has the verizon gnex and she got one of the cheap cases off ebay, it's translucent purple and pretty thin. I have an otterbox commuter on order for mine. They also make tpu cases and bumpers which can be had for pretty cheap on ebay. I always assume if I buy a case it's going to take some abuse, so I go cheap so I don't spend an arm and a leg to replace it. I went out on a limb with this otterbox case and spent a little more money than I am used to so, we'll see if it pays off. I got the otterbox for work (I work in a dusty environment and I wanted a tight case with some shock protection. I have a TPU bumper for the rest of the time. I've had 4-5 $2 cases in the past two years with my G2 and I don't regret it. You get some duds and you get some that can last 6 months to a year. I order 3 or 4 at a time since they are so cheap.
Thanks. I also just found this, but can't find any reviews on it. Looked really slick with a kickstand too!

It's a Lottery but you can see if you're a "winner" before playing.
Just look at the bottom of the retail package. It will be printed on where the product was assembled.
It's also stamped on the back inner shell inside.

The first sample was purchased at a corporate Sprint store in May. The second (China made) was also purchased at a corporate Sprint store but in a different location.
The Defender I just picked up (USA) was from a local Best Buy store. I noticed it's on bestbuy.com for $29.99 but is $49.99 in the store. Brought this to CSR attention and they immediately adjusted the price. $29.99 is a pretty good price for a Defender!

The Defender I just picked up (USA) was from a local Best Buy store. I noticed it's on bestbuy.com for $29.99 but is $49.99 in the store. Brought this to CSR attention and they immediately adjusted the price. $29.99 is a pretty good price for a Defender!

I know this a bump to an old thread, but I finally got around to picking up an Otterbox Commuter that is 'Assembled in USA'. I can say that it is definitely a better quality build than my Chinese-made Commuter. So to anyone that is looking to buy an Otterbox, I'd recommend looking on the bottom of the packaging and making sure that it says 'Assembled in USA'.

That is a good price it's just that BB only carries the basic black colors.
I have an otter box commuter that I stopped using because the fitment was horrible. I decided to make a warranty claim through otter box and within 30 minutes I had an approval and a case being shipped out Monday.
My commuter was made in the US but it was subpar in terms of quality. I also made the request for the new case to be black, if it were at all possible, and sure enough they sent me an updated confirmation with a black one as opposed to the glacier color I originally had, as it looked utterly disgusting after a months use.
I must say, I was very upset with otter box for the crap quality, but they have definitely reinstated my trust by making this so seamless.
And to think, I bought the case for $20 from a friend who bought it in error for his One X.
I have a commuter in the punked color, it is USA made, but I have always had a beef with the fit of the hard plastic outer particularly the diagonal portion to the right of the camera, it had never laid flat against the rubber. Some else having this same issue?

The replacement car otter box sent me was the same. it ended up requiringa bit of playing with but it ended up clicking in. the fitments isg tight so just play with it.
FYI, the old one was made in the USA and had a very loose fitment.the new one is made in China and is clearly different and fits almost too tight... But it fits. My qualm with it is the silicone is so tight it makes the one look like a gs3 in shape. I loved the otter box for my iPhone 5 but it seems like the HTC one model doesn't share the same fit and finish.

My first one was "assembled in USA"
Second one was "assembled in China"
The former fit perfectly the latter did not, it was actually quite hard to put on and did not seem to have the fit and finish / overall quality of the original USA made case!
Anyone else have similar observation?
I just picked up a USA made Defender and it fits very well, overall nice rugged case!

I completely agree with you.
Before the covers were much more quality, today don't fit right on the phone.
With the usage time it gets even more worse.
Now try to write a review on their site. Appears your review? Of course that not. They only allow reviews to praise, pathetic and Sad
Just picked up a USA made commuter today and its fitment is perfect.
Just got my "Assembled in China" Otterbox Commuter Black case and it fits my HTC One Stealth Black perfectly. I actually bought it from the US (location of eBay seller). I'm about to post a review of the case - i'll link back here.
Edit: Here's my review for the Otterbox Commuter case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449646

EXACT same issue, with the exact same case. I just got mine from Amazon yesterday (not a fulfillment, just shipped, and sold from Amazon) and I requested a refund. There was no way I could get it to fit, even without the phone in the case. I wanted a change in color from the White/Grey so I knew how it was supposed to fit.
Too bad they are back ordered on Amazon for 3-5 weeks
