My swype was working fine and for some reason its not swyping.. but I can still tap the letters in. I looked through the settings and whatnot and its enabled.. Anyone else have this issue?

I got it also on Legendary 2.2. Aside from the annoying EL30 msg's, recently got msg that "newer version of swype is available... please upgrade"

Yeah basically.. and when I try to swype the swype a blue line outlines the keyboard and it doesn't input the "swyped" word
Try deleting swype and downloading the newest from Swype's site.

On swypes website, it says if it came preinstalled on your phone, the beta may not work. Try force closing and restarting swype from the running applications menu under settings and delete the data it stored. Restart and see if that fixes it

Totally ignored that when the new beta came out. Renamed Swype.apk to Swype.bak and downloaded and installed it. Haven't tried it with the newest one yet.

I redownloaded after updating to CM9 and it works just fine for me. I dont think you could mess it up too bad though.

My swype told me that my trial has expired. So I installed swype (NEWEST) zip and nothing has changed I try to swype when I rebooted and it beeps at me and flashes blue. What do I need to do.

Im having the same problem! I tried the same method too of uninstalling swype from my phone then installing the (newest) apk that Rob has up for 4.2.
Ive looked everywhere and cant find any resolution. Using slideit's just not tge same :/

The fix for this is now posted MidnightROM's website "lostandtired.com/android-development" under this link: "Swype EB13 Restore (Stock).zip"
I have tried renaming the marketupdate.apk in system/app but it still updates itself. I have tried freezing said apk with titanium backup and yet it still updates itself. I have a version of the market that I like but installing it everyday is getting old. How can I successfully keep it from updating on its own?? I'm on CM7.1 btw. Thanks.

Froze that marketupdater and the damn thing still updates. I then deleted marketupdater and it still updated to the new crap market! What the hell?

I hate it. I can search for an app and then try to install it and it just sits there forever. But as soon as I install the older version and search for the same app and install it, the app downloads and installs right away. Sigh.

Yep, multiple times. I have installed the old version a few times now. I must have jacked with the wrong file or something cuz now the new version FCs when I try to download somthing and the old version closes as soon as I click the Market icon. LOL. I need to reinstall my ROM anyway. Fresh start.
It definitely decreased the visibility for my app. In that way I don't like it, but as a user, I got used to it.

You probably have a modded one installed and won't let you update. Delete the current one from system/app, then try redonwloading again.

Should be able to pull the .apk of the old one from any of your old ROMs and then freeze it with ROM Toolbox, TiBa, Terminal, etc... And then it can't update - though then it might not be usable since it's frozen At least you can pretend haha.

I did that everything went smooth then i turned off my phone and turned it back on and it wasn't working at all i swype it keep saying please try again everything was gone all my words saved in the dictionary it was beyond weird.

If you still have the libs from the old swype it will screw everything up

...or just sign up for the beta and download the installer from Swype. Make sure to remove all the stock Swype stuff...there are 2 files to remove.

i think gestures were always there - nice to have some theme options though!

Anyone else experiencing problems with getting the installer for Swype? I am already registered on their website and I have been for nearly 2 years. I haven't used Swype in a while since I switched to Swift Key. I want to try Swype again but they are not sending me the email with the installer link. Has anyone else ran into this issue?
I haven't used swype for a while, but I noticed it ask for a lot more permissions .Im about to give it another try,

I am having the same issues. Didn't recognize my password, so I did the reset. Changed it, and it still will not let me in. I think they are having some issues.

Yeah same thing happened to me I had to re register my email.so try re registering

I think they were just having some major issues with their servers.
I tried to create a new account with my same e-mail. Told me an account already existed, so I went to log-in instead, and now it lets me sign in finally.
Went back to the installer on my phone, and now I can sign in and download beta 1.3.
