looks good man. does it effect the flexibility of the case?
Haha ok I totally forgot a step.....use primer first lol......so when I check it I flexed it a little bit and the paint cracked lol.....I'll redo it once I get the prime but it came out super nice

It does affect the flexibility a little. Makes the silicone a little more stiff but not that much more

Well I haven't tried with primer yet so it's cracking but I have to go buy primer after I'm done with work.... The red was also a fail lol.
I guess I just have to wait to buy some primer
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Just to let everyone know that if your planning on doing this you're suppose to sand the silicone first with really fine sandpaper....
Also the primer has to be oil based same with the color.....work both with 2 coats

Wouldn't a clear coat of 3m or scotch guard do the trick without adding any of the "cracking" or stiffness issue ? I'm no expert, but if dust attraction seems to be the problem you would mostly likely just want to seal the original surface.....

Does anyone know if the skyrocket 4g otterbox will perfectly fit with our phones? I don't see why it wouldn't, but I would like to confirm.

There would be two speaker holes then. I would think that the case would be pretty difficult to cut as well. It is not something I would want to experiment with. If you would like to try it, take some pictures and post them I would be pretty interested though.

You're Welcome.
Sorry if this question seems dumb but looking at the skyrocket, it looks very similar to our T989 phones, and I was wondering if a Skyrocket case would fit our phones? Something similar to this:
http://www.sgpstore.com/index.php/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-s2-lte/sgp-samsung-galaxy-s2-lte-case-neo-hybrid-series.html
Speaker is on opposite side

this question has been asked numerous times
no it will not fit
please do a search before posting .... when you make a new post the forum does the searching for you !
Yes it will fit, I bought a sky rocket case, and it's fine.

please dont misguide people
its very clear that the speaker is on the opposite side of the phone...
will the phone fit into the case... yes
will it work properly... no... your speakerphone will be muffled as hell
It will not fit. My bro has a skyrocket and the skyrocket is way thinner and the speaker is on the other side. Also the 3.5 mm jack is on the opposite side.

I really want to paint the screen bezel and battery covrr of this phone.Completly debrand the back I was thinging of painting it either white or chroming the bezel andback plate and just deal with polishing it every day (although I'm not sure how well the chrome will bend when removing the back plate) so any suggestions shud I or shouldn't I. how should I go about painting it.

Bro... skinit.com ? Why go through all that hassle rather than stick a decal on it? Cmon work smarter not harder.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
I think painting it would be cool, as long as you put a nice finish on it to keep it from scratching off.
I'd paint mine a chrome color.

Yeah I figured out the solution for the back cover it wud probably have to be powder coated to allow the "color" to bend with the plastic.

That's cool. I've been thinking about plasti-dipping my back cover. Stuff is great. It's durable yet peels right off if done right. People use it on there cars all the time. I did my hood with it

Great stuff, but do NOT use it on your phone back, it will cause a mess.
I use it all the time to cover my spark plug cables on my Jet Ski, and while it does coat everything with rubber, it is NOT a smooth/polished finish.
I think I might even alumacoat the bezel or even ceramicoat (If I can find someone who still does it)

Let me know how bulky that ends up being. Or if it adds a decent lip to the front of the phone. I was looking at some of the other Tridea models as well, but I want something that will keep the face of the phone off of the desk if I have it upside down.

Its one of the main reasons i got it for too
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
My reasoning for staying away from either of the 2 tridea bumper cases is that the back is so exposed it looks like the camera lens would touch the surface of whatever you lay it on and get scratched

Is there any metal cases for the s4? Not aluminum but real metal
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
well...
first off aluminum is a real metal, so not sure what you mean by that. what metal would you like to see? I haven't seen one that is solid metal. http://www.droid-life.com/2013/04/29/buy-this-metal-back-cover-for-your-galaxy-s4-if-youre-tired-of-the-plastic/
there is one back cover.
the other one I know of is the spigen slim armor, But it is not all metal either. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BW6GIP2
If you have great signal where you're at... awesome, but if you struggle with signal, getting a metal case isn't a good idea from my experience. You may lose a bar or two. I have had more cases than I can count, ordering them like a kid in a candy store, except this time around with the S4. Having had issues before, if you do get one, I'd be interested in how it works for you because I wouldn't mind having a metal case myself.

My mistake then, I know previous spigen cases have had metal versions in the past. with a quick amazon search I saw it and just assumed.
