The title says it all. Rumor is CM9 MAY include Cornerstone multitasking, which basically lets you view multiple apps on one screen! I think this is a really cool idea and would love to see it! Thoughts?

This
LTE EX Galaxy Nexus - 4.0.3 AOSP
Asus Transformer - Revolver OC/UV
Agreed, it won't be an every day use on GN. But at 4.7" I think I can squeeze two every now and then if it serves a purpose, like a copy/paste or replying to one thing while looking at another scenario.. For sure will be useful on tablets. Kind of reminds me of the video app "Stick It!", which is a cool app and worth checking out.
Pretty neat. but not for me. Hopefully its an option. But definetly best for a tab.

That's awesome news. my old Nokia n900 multi tasked in a similar way. It wasn't as elegant as corner stone though. n I just couldn't enjoy it. I personally enjoy the ics style. Reminds me of webos
I want this............
Nice, while probably not practical for phone use, would be EXTREMELY useful on MHL output?
imagine linked to your TV and having skype and say the browser open? or iplayer and Skype?
this has some pretty useful features.
Looks great! Like other posters have said, i want this for my tablet over my phone. None the less, thanks for sharing OP!
Dianne Hackborn seems to be agaisnt this. But hes alright with carriers and OEMs modifying the framework but not CM.
Main reason? incompability that will make people give apps bad reviews but they didnt work with the modifty framework

People will always give bad ratings for silly things. It's not the app, it's the concept that people don't understand.
Android is open source. People are entitled to do whatever they want, but there are consequences and cons for everything.

you should be able to download WebOS Doctor... it has everything needed to totally wipe the device and reinstall everything fresh... so it would have all the system files in it.
you should be able to find it somewhere other than palms site. on palms page you need to put in your phones serial to download it.
if you end up needing it, i would be happy to download it and host it so you can grab it quick. (wife has a pre plus).
the newest version is 1.4.5.
Hey, found a link for the latest WebOS doctor that camalus was talking about, direct download link for the file is http://palm.cdnetworks.net/rom/pre/...1351rod/webosdoctorp101ewwverizonwireless.jar
and link to the Webos doctor site that hosts all doctor files for all WebOS devices is
http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Webos_Doctor_Versions#Pre_Plus_3

One of the advantages over Android...an awesome Facebook app worth of praise. They did a good job.

Hey ID I had a Palm Pre Plus for like 29 before I got my Dinc. I loved the card UI, you can have like 50 things going on at once. Phone would get hot and battery would go but it was a nice OS. The Acer test video you made reminded me of it a little.
here is the new news...
http://www.talkandroid.com/93005-ts...-8-days-start-your-drooling-now/#.T0faEEzVy8k
Quote from their website: "With additional features of the TSF Shell official release time is determined in February, when will be published in ANDROID MARKET, so stay tuned."
I was doing some snooping and Google translating from tsfui.com and it looks like this awesome Launcher will be available in the Android market in February. It looks amazing. I can not post shortcuts yet as I am still a noob on this site (I am not worried about it but if you want to see for your self I left some references at the bottom of this post).
There is a You Tube video for anyone who has not seen it yet, just do a google search for TSF Shell and you can see a demo video on how well it seems to work.
This would satisfy my waiting for ICS or CM9 for a little bit (until one of them comes out). I just love the fluid motions, intuitive folders and customization's that are available. Can't wait to see this on my phone.
For reference purposes, I found this by going to the bottom of their home page and selecting the news icon in the Site Map.
To translate- let the page load completely then right click and select translate to English - oh yeah, I only use Chrome so I am not sure about other browsers.

video does look cool. i just hope it's not $15 like spb shell 3d. although this looks more robust i just can't justify $15 for a theme.
Maybe it's just me, but this and all other 3D launchers look really, really cluttered. There's like 25 different buttons on the homescreen!
But hey, to each his own. Looks nice, nonetheless, just looks a bit too cluttered in the video, for me.

i can totally understand that. i personally believe something like this to be worth the $15, based on the sole fact that they are making android do things i have never even thought of, let alone seen. but, i WILL wait to see if the Go Dev team tries to implement some of these new techniques/features. if i have to, ill wince and fork over the $15 though lol

You guys want to try a cool launcher. It lets you put items anywhere on the screen. You can also scroll each page down like in WM7. The developer is actively working on all the bugs and I emailed him last night with some and he got back to me within 15 minutes....Definitely work checking out and will be awesome when everything is ironed out. I also run my screen at 160 density and it makes this launcher even cooler...Check it out.... SSLauncher

You guys do realize that most of the vid is pretty much just showing how you set it up. Its kind of unfair to judge it from that. Setting up a launcher is always the tedious part. I want to see the launcher in action once its setup to your liking

Also I feel technical launchers like this is what makes me love android. If you want a launcher that is plain and just works isn't the iPhone kind of the winner in that dept. Sad to say

WHAT!!??
HOLY CRAP!! WHAT'S SPB SHELL?? LOL Yeah...don't care if it's officially the priciest app on the market, I'm gettin' me some of that! AMAZING interface!!
Do any of these launchers use gpu acceleration like touchwiz?
What's the point of using a launcher/rom if it sucks up twice the battery than stock?
Nice interface, but again it just reminds me all the more why I stuck with Zeam Launcher.

this. but, part of my enjoying a launcher IS in setting it up. which is why i LOVE Go Launcher. SO many options and eye candy! there are still little quirks about it that to this day, when i perform an action, i whisper ''man, i love this launcher...''

Im just curious at why this feature hasnt been ported to the Gnex? Maybe its the hardware specs but its just a question i thought of!

Been a while since this question was asked flooded the forum daily, but the general consensus then was it is not possible w/o a touchwiz port. If you want more info, do a search, it's been talked about multiple times.

yep I've been reading. there were some beta/alpha releases with touch wiz that gave the ability, very slightly. Force closed every few seconds, but other than that we would need a skilled developer and lots of time haha

Most of us here agree that nobody wants TW/BLUR/etc, we bought Nexus for "pure Android" or AOSP or an enhanced AOSP ROM. That is why you wont likely see fully functional ports of those skins/overlays/bloatware, we bought Nexus to get away from that bs. No offense to anybody who likes those skins or the features that they might come with, but the Nexus community is more AOSP focused.
hardware doesn't powerful enough, so if you run two window in GNexus, you will feel that works too slow
I think AOSP is great indeed! im not one for sence, unless its sense 5.0, and TW just has the neat window effect. Im sure eventually it could be created natively eventually. The Halo idea is a step towards it i think. Maybe one day!
What about Cornerstone? I loved it on my tablet, while I used it. Not sure how well it would work on a smaller screen though.

Yeah, sorry if I created any confusion. It definitely needs to be baked into the ROM source. "He who we do not name" had an Iconia A500 ICS ROM with Cornerstone built in. It was nice but he didn't include it in future releases of ICS or JB. My understanding is, is that it's really designed for larger screen devices like tablets. I'm pretty sure text etc. would be too small to read in the smaller multitasking windows. But running 2+ apps at once on a GNex and being able to bring them to the larger window at will would be pretty darn sweet. :highfive:

In all honesty, why? The device's age is clearly showing with the ongoing firmware updates that are optimized for higher end devices. The GN, while still a great phone, is becoming somewhat slow and I can't see a mod like this being any better.
It would be indeed a cool idea for the N4 though.
you can try to do a full wipe, it often works

Stability
Cool SMS themes and stuff I hate my galaxy sms layout agh.

Gabe first thing first. Questions go in the Q&A section not in the General section. As far as asking which the best rom is also like a pointless question as they all are. It's user preference what's going to make the rom perfect for you. All these types of which is best threads end up locked. Maybe you should start with this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38172219 there is lots of useful information. Actually I think I just miss my iphone thats why I'm selling it. I been using my blackberry because it actually is faster when i'm texting and stuff. I liked CM10 but it just wasn't what I thought. I love my android I wish I could keep both but I won't be able. I just have to find a buyer which has been very hard.
I'm considering finding a good trade or something either iphone or blackberry torch but probably iphone. But it's still rooted and I'm not very sure about unrooting and stuff things like this requires lots of thought and I don't like thinking a lot lol.
I really do appreciate your response though =]

Mmm, I see, well that's respectable. Personally, not a fan either but we all have choices.
If you're trying to sell your GS III, you might want to try listing it on swappa.com ; they sell androids and if you price it 'reasonably' you should get a buyer probably easily. Doing ^, you can list it as root, and the buyer will probably want it like that, saying you trouble. Though if you really need help unrooting, I can help you with that.

I'm a nursing student an a Iphone would suit me better because it last awhile for me and I would defiantly need a stable device. I posted a ad on swappa I'm hoping I did it correctly and for a reasonably price I saw a Iphone 5 on their pretty cheap I hope I get enough for the galaxy to buy it.
