Alright guys, whats your opinion: which rom has the best battery life?

AOKP + Latest Franco Kernel
Thanks. So far I've had my best with eagles blood and stock kernel. I've heard Franco's kernel has bad battery life though?

Sounds like an easy thing for you to test, doesn't it? Sorry to be snippy, but this is one of many similar threads. No one searches anymore, and there are many threads like this which have "it depends" as the only logical answer.

I have been using Francos kernel, and the new baseband, with both KANG and eaglyblood, i hav ejuicedfender installed on aggrasive, but i still cant get out much from the phone, i have right now on eaglybloods latest 1.5.
Running for 22h 4min
Screen on low: 39%
OS: 15%
Phone inactive: 12%
Voicecall: 9%
Mobile rest: 6%
Android system: 6%
Mediaserver: 4%
Now i havent used it alot, turn of everything i can, when screen of running on 2g only and such, i havent used it alot, listen to music for totaly 1h 30m. No surfing and such.
What roms and kernels have you used and what have you gotten out of it?
What extra apps maybe taskkillers and such do you use or think is good to get more battery?

Bad battery life? Do some searching and read his kernel thread. Battery life has been amazing with his past releases. Build 7.1 are heavily exceptional builds.
Anything before that, yes the battery life hasn't been so good. But now his focus shifted onto the battery. Many people included screenshots of their battery graph.
Aokp also has a power saver mode, read into that as well

I did run AOKP build 12 for 1 day, and thats how long my battry lastet with nearly no usage at all. The same with eaglyblood all on latest fran kernel, with juicedefender ultimate on agressive setting.
So how can i test and post graphs for you?
What baseband are you on?
Is there any good taskiller i can use?
Dont know what is using so much battery except the screen and i have it on very low always.
I use stock 4.0.2, non rooted or unlocked bootoader, and I find the battery life better than most android phones i've used previously. However, occasionally, it gets low, then i plug it in, and later it's charged again!! As if by magic!! Also i noticed that if i turn it off completely, the battery life is aammmmaaaazzziinnngggg!!! *palms face*
sorry, these battery life threads really get my goat! On a serious note though, one nugget of knowedge that I have taken from messing with android for years is, that if you, like me in the past, have been one of these types that just cannot stop flashing roms left and right, then you will never get to see the full potential of your battery. It does depend of course more on individual usage than anything else, but, settling on a rom of choice and using it normally over the course of a week or so will see you gain an increase in capacity thereafter, just through simple calibration.
Im running AOKP v.13 with Franco's Kernel 9.2 and battery is really great, even on heavy usage. There's almost no batter drain in Sleep Mode (last night ~8 hours, the battery just dropped for 2%).
I've set up my syncs, set up AOKP's Powersave Mode to my wishes and made a ScreenOff Profile for franco's Kernel. That's all, and im still on my second battery loading cycle. Cant wait to see what will happen if it's callibrated well.
With AOKP Rom and its Powersave Mode, you dont even need Juice Defender anymore, its doing nearly the same.
Thank you, i will go back to AOKP in a few days and try build 13, i update you all
My battery holds 1 day 24hours, would say normal use with 2g on when screen of, 3g when screen on, i dont surf on it check facebook maybe 2 times on it, nothing more, text sms and few calls lasting maybe 40min total

How is your standby drain with that setup? 1% per hour? Or less?
I'm in DC and need to make it through a full day on the battery. I need a from and kernel that can help me make it through a good 12 hours with no wifi and over 2 hours screen on time. Please help, I haven't made it more than 8 hours yet.

Honestly if it is that important put a second battery in your pocket. Its the only guarantee.
With that said, I have gotten pretty good battery life on AOKP M4 ROM w/ Franco M2 kernel. I average about 20 hours, with 3 1/2 hours screen time.
Every phone is different though, so there can't be any guarantees. The only way to know for sure is to test for yourself. It doesn't seem like you have the time for that though. If it were me I would grab a second battery or a charging pack.

Just turn off LTE and background data/automatic sync. Your phone will run forever.
Yeah, i get those kind of battery statistics or better all the time with my GSM version. If you can just turn off 4G and it basically turns it into a GSM phone with a little bigger battery, I'd do that. Also, carry a spare battery if you are worried about it.
Enjoy DC too. Great place to visit. Lots to see/do. Tell Barack Chris says hi--he'll know who
You can find charging packs with over 5000 mAH for as low as $25 online. Since you're in a hurry, I'd get a pack from Fry's or similar places.
Go with AOKP Build 28 with Franco's Kernel. And undervolt your values a bit. Let me know if you want the uw values and aren't able to figure out yourself. Mine gives about 30 hours battery life with 3-4 hours screen on.
Battery pack or pick up some batteries.

I am serious about to go back to GB. ICS is sucking in the category of battery life. I need to know what is going on.
I am running Re-Calk 0.1.17 with Agat 4.3 and CPU Sleeper. Took my phone off the charger at 8pm and already down to 85% with it being in nothing but deep sleep. Same thing basically happened on Blazer also.
I need something to keep me on ICS. Someone please tell me what you are using.
I have had the same issue. Ive tried many combinations of roms, kernels and tweaks but I still haven't been able to match calk's 3.0. Curious to see if anyone is getting decent battery life on ICS.
I'm getting good battery on aokp m6 but it also varies widely depending on what I do. if I play alot of games or watch alot of video I have about 10% after a 16-18hr day if I just browse and txt I go to bed between 30-50%. Only tweaks I did was disable the capacitive buttons and led by deleting their files from inside the he folder in /system
We are legion, for we are many.

I dunno, whats good for you? I am back on my trusty CM9 Nightly 7/17 which has the FF18 repack kernel which was supposed to be worse on battery life than the FF11. I get 30 hours or so on my days off or days at work when i might check the phone a couple times an hour.
Heavy usage any rom, any android version can kill an E4GT in 3 or 4 hours most days i get 6 to 8 with an hour of 100% brightness screen on time.
I am on the sprint official OTA and I avg around 13 -18 hrs with 5-6 hours screen time....could be more if I wasn't a heavy usage type

Wow, this almost seems too good to be true...What % usage was your Android OS? What other settings do you use (i.e. Auto Sync Off/On, Number of Apps, etc.) Are you sure you are not talking about the SG3?

2% screen on how many minutes was ur screen on
i think the reason why Calk 3.0 have superb battery life is because the CPU is underclocked at 800Mhz instead of 1.2Ghz
Just my $0.02
I was Super Galaxy ROM for a while and my battery life wasn't ever that great
I had to take my phone in for a signal problem (which ended up being a downed tower that the Sprint rep didn't bother to mention, don't get me started) and so I flashed to GB and then did the OTA update to ICS
I've been getting awesome battery life outta this thing now.. It was a really light use day today, but I'm at 60% after 13 hours (only 1 hr of screen on-time though).. but on SuperGalaxy I would usually be at about 20% of less even with little to no screen time.. (I did love everything else about Super Galaxy though)..
But I've seen lots of people say they got horrible battery life on the OTA... (I did start from a completely clean phone though if that matters)

I'm running stock ICS and get the same battery life as GB. I can get 12-16 hours 8 if I'm on the phone constantly reading and browsing. Glad I don't have the issues others have had. At first my battery was pretty bad but it continued to improve over time.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXPLAIN how share your secret
I am sure this has been asked, but I really need some help with this. I am using fully 4.1.1 STOCK and I do use the data on my phone quite a bit, but I don't see how after 6 hours, my phone is completely dead after a full charge. Screen on time was roughly an hour and a half! What is the BEST ROM with the best Kernel even, for battery life and extensive use of data?
The max I could get waas 2 hours screen on time, 3G really hurts your battery, I don'think theres anything that can change that
stock is always best.

No I don't think so. Are you using the Verizon or GSM version. There must be something with your phone or the settings, possibly a wake lock issue. With the GSM version and 2000mAh battery I can pull 3-4 hours of on screen time, using roms like AOKP and Franco Kernel. I turn off data, wifi, gps and bluetooth until I need them.
Can you go into Settings -> Battery an take a screenshot. Then press on the "battery graph" to reveal the history details screen and take another screenshot.
Not sure if it work with stock, but holding the Power + Volume down button should take a screenshot.
Every bodies phone acts different with certain ROM and kernel combinations I have had good luck with lean kernel but that doesn't neccassarily mean you will
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Xparent ICS Tapatalk 2
For your display brightness, you may want to install Screen Filter. Its in the market. Especially without having to tinker with the display settings it lets you dim it down even lower than the lowest setting. Also great for movie viewing in a low/no light setting.
I think this requires root, but you should try Better Battery Stats, select partial wake locks since charged, and see what the culprit is.
CPU spy would also be a good one to see what frequencies your cpu is running on the most.
I'm currently on liquid beta 1. It seems to hold battery quite well compared to cm10. I also use trinity kernel, and the TKT app.

I'm a new android user. I'm using the LiquidSmooth 4.2.1 JellyBean Beta 2. The problem I'm having is with my battery life. I seem to average about 5-7 hours of battery life which is crazy if you ask me. This isn't a ROM issue either because it was the same way on the stock 4.1.1 Android OS.
I'm using JuiceDefender now and that seems to help a little. I know things like disabling 3G and WiFi can help but I use these things often. Can anyone offer any useful suggestions to extend my battery life?
Thanks in advance

The quickest way to answer this is to suggest you use search. There are already dozens of posts/threads about this. A lot depends on signal and applications running. Do some reading, more than likely you will find the answer already posted.

Absolutely something wrong with your phone and or battery. Had an S3 since July '12, rooted and ran FreeGS3 and had all day battery. Lost that just before Xmas (actually stolen) and got another S3, and this time decided not to do all that ROMming and flashing and stayed stock 4.1.
Same all day battery life with WiFi on, 3G on, Google/Gmail Sync on (i like my push Gmail), several email accounts polling, etc. I just use my phone, no gimping with apps like JuiceDefender (which i detest with a passion).
Heres a question, what's your screen on time? Cuz if your phones dead at 7 hrs with 5 hrs screen on your first option is to adjust screen settings and the second and 3rd option are put the phone down sometimes and/or keep a charger handy

Depending on how often I use my phone I get anywhere between 9-11 hours on light to moderate use. Meaning listening to music, Twitter, Instagram, email, and texting
It could be the 4.2, because it isn't completely "stable" yet. I'm on stock 4.1 rooted, with screen brightness on I'd say 30-40%, with light to moderate use and can get 11-15 hours easily. This includes texting, maybe a few phone calls, lots of music, and some Facebook or XDA on a WiFi connection.

Well after checking out the Kernelizers thread and flashing the KT kernel onto my Galaxy S3 and installing ROM Toolbox, my battery life has greatly improved. I also installed DS Battery Saver Pro. I just came to work. Left at 7:05AM, put on some music, and by the time I got to work at 8:05AM, my phone battery only dropped 3%. Normally it would drop at least 10% in this time so what I did is clearly working

I would uninstall DS Battery Saver Pro. If you did check out that thread, the phone already deep sleeps. Mine does with no additional app assistance. Went 38+ hours and still had 25% battery life left.
